Thursday already!
Hello and welcome back to my blog.
Last week was simply amazing returning from Cornwall then jetting off to Spain - I've had a fabulous time!
Saturday had a 7 hour car journey with a much needed stop-off for brunch en route.
Arriving at the hotel about 4.30 we were greeted by the owners, fabulous bedrooms and
a welcoming G & T!.
There were hardly any other guests, so we made ourselves comfortable in the relaxing guest lounge which had beautiful views overlooking the Looe Valley.
A meal in the Hotel had already been arranged, so having nothing to worry about we got ready at leisure. As you know I had only packed dresses to accompany me for the weekend, so was happy no decisions had to be made as to what to wear. Dress was ready and waiting for me to step into.
You've seen this M & S elegant dress before - it was a present for my First Blog Birthday! and I was thrilled to be wearing it for the first time. Can you guess what else I wore with it? Yes I debuted my birthday present from hubby. This necklace is stunning! You can read all about my Coeur De Lion Necklace and Bracelet here.
Sunday had us visiting Fowey, a quaint little town on the Fowey Estuary, with winding roads filled with local shops selling the likes of fudge, Cornish Pasties, quirky home wares, beautiful clothes and local produce, along with picturesque pubs & charming restaurants. Obviously we felt obliged to sample the local wares 😏 filling up on the hot pasties and creamy fudge washed down with a cider in a nearby pub!
Wearing cropped jeans and blouse that was befitting a stroll through the streets - but I'll share that outfit with you next week & I'd be so happy if you'll stop by to view it.
Sunday evening we had dinner with my uncle, the very intimate meal for 7 was quiet & informal, plenty of memories back and forth between mum and her brother - some of which I had no idea about.
The dress I picked to wear has already been worn previously here at Christmas, so with the weather playing fair it fitted the bill for our family meal.
The M & S stretchy lace dress being the perfect selection as the weather was not over warm, so I benefited from the three quarter sleeves keeping my arms snug. As the dress had a little stretch to it I had freedom and movement - result the tummy appreciated this even more!
Managed to get home to quite literally grab my bag and go!
Early Tuesday morning and I mean EARLY Tuesday morning had me jetting off to Spain.
The mid-week break with four friends was an opportunity to let my hair down, enjoying the delights of some local restaurants, sampling the local vino and having a little dance with friends. Warm enough to lazy on the beach paired with a tiny bit of shopping - pure bliss, don't you agree?
Unfortunately there weren't many photo opportunities available with the exception of some shots with Esther Ruby when we met up with her family in a nearby sandy cove.
She took some fabulous photos on the idyllic & dreamy beach we love to frequent. Surrounded by a handful of restaurants, bars and ice cream parlours it really was heaven.
These will be one the blog within the next couple of weeks, suffice to say they are am-az-ing! & I can't wait to show you.
These two pieces accompanied me on my cheeky break, both from Next, both I'm over the moon with. When I spotted this dress and top I hadn't realised they were from the same range, I took a chance with them fitting and hey presto both did! They are garments that you put on and quite like in a 'they'll do' kind of way, but once worn a couple of times I actually REALLY like them.
The D Ring Next Dress is made from polyester & elastane and has the lovely heavy drape to it, cool to the touch with short cap sleeve is was a pleasure to wear. I love the funky tie detail at the waist, the buckle design allows you to tighten or loosen however you wish to wear it.
The white pattern is very flattering, giving the illusion of being thinner - if that's not a reason to buy, I don't know what is!
Finishing just on the knee, again gets top marks from me, I hate showing too much of my knees and feel a long length is just so much more stylish and elegant.
I'm giving myself a big pat on the back for buying this dress from Next for only £28!
What do you think about the colour of this top?
The citrine (as stated on the website but I'm saying golden yellow) was such an fabulous colour so seeing that, the frayed detailing running down either side along with the peplum hem I was all over it like a rash!
See here for £18.
Love to see you back here on Monday, I'll be showing you something special I wore on my day trip to Fowey.
Until then it's been lovely to 'chat'. X

DeleteGosh, been busy enjoying yourself! Lovely photos. And how lovely you look in all the outfits. Dresses are so you, they really suit you, so elegant with the clutches too. And love the little top with the shorts and am so impressed that your shorts are exactly that - all mine touch the knees so can hardly be called shorts!
ReplyDeleteI love wearing dresses Mary, I could wear them every day with heels, but not very practical. Hope you can stop by next Monday. x
