Let's hope I get everything sorted for a silky smooth-running Christmas Day. I simply adore the main event, but really like Boxing day too - it's so much more relaxed and chilled. All the stress of making sure everyone has got what they want, dinner is cooked on time and I've not forgotten anything! So boxing day I can relax, unwind & enjoy the presents, company and what's on telly without any arguments!
Last Sunday I had an exciting day out. After an evening at a surprise party it was nice not to have to get up and cook a roast dinner! So a day out with nearly all the family was just what I did. My daughter had arranged dinner in a pub en route to Hythe. I'd booked the annual Santa Special on the Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch Railway, a lovely family trip that all ages would enjoy. Along with hubby I was accompanied by both grandchildren, daughters, SIL and son - although my prince is still too young to appreciate the visit, my little princess adored it. She met Santa, rode on the 15" gauge miniature steam train, visited the model railway (she loved pushing the various buttons to start and stop trains, along with lighting some buildings) grand finale was real snow being sprayed - everyone looked really cute with snow in their hair!
I'd picked my outfit based on taking photos for the recent 5Over50 blog post where I featured a glamorous gold sequined jumper plus a shiny gold pleated skirt. These I paired with a recent 'Christmas present' ... okay it wasn't actually a Christmas present - well I said it was and hubby said it wasn't - lucky me. 😉 Enter one not-Christmas-present please .....
I popped into town last Saturday to get some cards, and just had to look in my local M & Co. They had a good selection of jackets and coats, so I wondered if they'd have one that I'd been searching for!
I'm not a particularly fussy person, and here's the reason why. Whenever I want something specific and I can't find it I get so annoyed and upset, so I figure if I stay neutral about what I want then I wont be put out. Sorry I'm going off the point.
Well I found exactly what I wanted, I was so pleased. What was so good about it you ask?
It was a red jacket ✅ they had my size ✅
I liked the style (the collar is very flattering) ✅ I liked the fit ✅& I loved the length ✅
This jacket was the one for me, and hubby bought it right away, icing on the cake it had 20% off - winner.
A red coat is just super for the festive season and this M & Co pea coat is a fabulous addition to my coat collection, I can see me wearing this with jeans, black trousers for a whole host of different looks. It was priced at £49, which is still a brilliant price for such a stylish jacket - so the 20% off made it a real bargain!
Have you got a miniature railway near you? I'd love to hear about it if you have. Kids as well as adults love riding the RHDRailway, which goes to prove we're all young at heart really!
Jacket from M & Co
Skirt from M & S
Jumper from Primark (borrow from my daughter)
Bag from TK Maxx (previous season)
Boots from Jones
Thanks so much for visiting today - I'll be back next week.
Wishing you all a very Happy Christmas.
Cheerio for today. X

Ha! We Always say to each other, when we are in Rye, that we want to take a trip with a steam train. But we never did! I love it!
ReplyDeleteIt's worth a little ride Nancy, and the model railway is worth a look too! x
DeleteThis is so neat! We do have one, but haven't gone on it in many years. I think the tracks got flooded a couple years ago. I am excited about Christmas and for things to wind down a bit! Have a wonderful Christmas + Boxing Day!
