Did you celebrate last night? We don't normally participate in this memorable day, but hubby having a skip full of wood to get rid of, we decided on having a little impromptu bonfire and a few fireworks! We kept these to a minimum as they can be very disturbing to animals and neighbours. I popped some jacket potatoes rubbed in olive oil, salt and pepper into the oven, prepared hot dogs and some home-made profiteroles.
All went down very well, with the profiteroles proving most popular, ;-)
You may remember I'm a big advocate of never being too old to start something new or after a long break. For me this has been dancing both Ballet and Tap! Classes of about 5 - 8 ladies all of a similar age group and all very much interested in keep fit and enjoying themselves. We don't care how well we do or what we look like, it's just fun! So today I seem to have been gently nudged in the direction of an exam! Some seven minutes had me completing the three components for the exam, including a port de bras (arm exercise), steps to music, then for the 'grand finale' - a short dance. All three safely executed, with no slips, trips or brain freezes. Phew!!
Will now have to wait for a couple of weeks to see how I did, but whatever the outcome (I'm sure no one has ever failed!!) it's nice to achieve something at any age really.
A quick visit into town yesterday morning to run a few errands, and visit a few shops, came home with a couple of cute little items - post to follow in the week.
I've been spying the coats that are being favoured now, camel coats seem to be a popular choice both in the shops and in your blogs. So I may have to add one to my collection. Coats aren't really my 'thing' but needing something different, something other than my parka, my dressy black coat or my pink pea coat.
I spotted this camel three quarter length coat in Debenhams. It's unusually quite a dark brown, with a split lapel and two pockets. I'm still very undecided as to what coat I
Let me know if you've seen any suitable offerings in the coat department, and I hope to secure a suitable choice very soon, you'll be first to know when I do!
Have an enjoyable Sunday.
Catch up tomorrow.
Jacqui B.
Sounds like you had a lovely celebration! We don't do anything for the day here in Australia, I think it's just a UK thing.
ReplyDeleteI like that camel coat you shared - a ncie practical colour that will go with so much and is really big at the moment!
Hope you're having a great weekend :)

Thanks Mica, I may be going back to have a proper look! Yes I think it's just a UK event too. Thanks for stopping by. x
DeleteA camel colour coat is classic and versatile ! I love the colour, especially if matched to burgundy ...
ReplyDeleteHome-made profiteroles?? Then you had ... the most delicious celebration!! :-)
They were delicious too! Thanks for popping by and for your kind words.
DeleteSounds like you had a super bonfire night and your catering sounds spot-on. Good luck with the exams, you brave lady.
ReplyDeleteMy only coat gap was a longer-length puffa, which was sorted with a visit to the Uniqlo site. Wish I'd worn it today for my beach walk - I dressed for the warm temperatures of two days ago, brr. Have fun with your coat hunt, make it a warm one would be be my top tip!
Yes a warm one indeed, I do feel the cold and need to wrap up very warm. Thanks for your lovely comments Mary, hope you're not too cold. x
DeleteI have numerous coats, but not a camel one. I can see why they would be popular, as they would go with anything and you could jazz them up with a pretty scarf. Glad you had a fun celebration! - Amy

I may be going back to see this one, and yes a scarf is always a choice for me in the colder weather.
DeleteMy son had all the family over to his for bonfire. It was really good for us all to be together at the same time so loved it. Camel is my favorite colour. I'm leaning more towards Browns rather than Blacks so I really like this Jacqui x
