Being a copy cat - When I'm over Fifty!

Morning, how was your weekend?

Mine was mediocre!  Nothing much planned, and nothing much achieved, and no shopping for this over fifty fashion blogger what-so-ever!  I did prepare a rather nice roast pork dinner on Sunday, which was a small family gathering - catching up on everyone's news - feeling thankful for this opportunity with loved ones around me.

Whilst meandering through some of the many blogs I follow, one in particular made an immediate impression on me as soon as I saw it.

I saw a lady with similar style, ideas and likes.

Gail at Isthismutton really has an eye for classic styles, and always looks on-point and stylish.   When I spotted her wearing this stunning burgundy jumper from Ted Baker, which has a cute bow detail on the side of the collar, along with a gorgeous grey skirt,  I thought it's perfect for so many occasions and chic with it.

Knowing I'd got the same grey and burgundy pieces in my collection, I set about putting it together!

.

Gail's own photograph, you can see here blog at

Onto my 'copy' of Gail's look.

You'll notice I've swapped the burgundy boots to grey shoes, I struggle to find boots with a wide enough calf to contain my ample leg muscle fat! Lol - my bad for all the dance and athletics I took part in when I was young!

You've seen this jumper before here, and you may remember is has a tie neck detail, but I decided to cover this with one of my much loved scarves - this I bought in Primark mainly because I needed it loved the silky feel and the pretty design.

The grey skirt is from Matalan, this link is to a similar tube skirt as I've had mine for a while now.  A stretchy tube pencil skirt is just so versatile for any over fifties wardrobe, matching with so many other colours including the burgundy shown.
I love wearing grey with yellow/mustard and also grey with any shade of pink.

Catch this grey skirt worn with mustard here.

This is a style of outfit that could be worn nearly anywhere!  Shopping, dining out, visiting friends or just going for a short walk, as I did on this 'shoot' day!  (this still makes me chuckle, but what other word can I use - answers in the comments box please!)

You're getting a sneaky peak of my god-daughter in these shots -  Esther Ruby has a great eye for detail and an imaginative shot!

Are you like Gail and me, do you think these are styles and colours you would wear?  I'd be pleased to hear what you think about this colour combo.

Catch up with me again on Thursday. X
