Did you catch my blog post on Monday featuring 5 Over 50!? If you missed it here's a link to the style challenge featuring:
'Something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue'
You may have seen my Instagram Outfit last week, I wanted to elaborate... if you care to read on I will, but first I'd like to share this with you.....
If you're anything like me the best sort of Therapy I love to partake in is Retail Therapy. I love nothing more than shopping, looking, musing, feeling, styling and buying. If I get a bargain, well I'm in my element. Then coming home where I can mix, match & style to my hearts content! That's my therapy wrapped up in a bag, a recycled bag!
So I had a little Therapy a few days ago, and I'm happy to say I've got a couple of bargains to share with you - I'd love you to pop back next week to see them. X
As we're talking about Therapy, here's another kind of therapy I like to get involved in.
Listening Therapy or as I call it ... 'nod and Uhm' moments?
Let me explain, These are the words hubby and I use when we are just getting something off our chest, like a moan, a rant, or an observation about someone or something, a detail about something that has happened in our day, mainly anything that's occurred since we last saw each other.
Sometimes all we need is a soundboard - someone to just listen! Listen to anything and everything that's gone on when we've been going about our daily duties. But the one basic point to remember is never to comment, agree, disagree or condone!
It works for us, and proves that talking really is good Therapy! So if you're lucky enough to have a husband, wife, partner, parent, off-spring, friend or even a four legged fury friend - talking and getting things off your chest works wonders. This is the time to listen and not comment, this is the time to just 'nod and uhm', and we all need that nod and uhm moment sometimes don't we? Lol!
Today I thought I'd share my Army Green Peg Trousers previously worn here, and also on my IG page showing a casual look paired with pale pink.
These came from Dorothy Perkins and have now been reduced to £17.60!!! Bargain.
Humm.... thinking out loud now ... I wonder if the blue ones have gone in the sale too!!
I decided to go for a plain look, which I achieved by wearing a cream round neck t shirt, it's actually a long sleeve version to keep warm on the cooler April day I took photos.
I paired these with a cute Chanel style jacket I bought in the Matalan sale last year. It's off white with a black stripe which has a Lurex thread running though it giving it a bright, stylish feel. I've only worn this previously with black and cream garments, but think it looks interesting with my army green trousers.
My shoe option was picked more for comfort rather than looks, I prefer to wear some sort of heel, but I reckon the cream patent loafer adds enough interest, without taking away the stylishness of my outfit. I've worn these on numerous blog posts and they never let me down on the well-being of my feet.
The cream belt adorned with gold studs, compliments the pearl and gold beaded necklace.
I swivelled the belt round to the side to avoid seeing the buckle, I think it gives a fluid, not too busy look.
Here's to a little Therapy in your week, I'd love to hear how it goes, and what Therapy works for you.
Catch me again on Monday, where I'll be featuring a recent purchase I made, it's okay, it was all in the name of Therapy 😜!
Bye, bye .. X
You may already know how much I love this style jacket Jacqui. They are normally a little shorter than the average, so it's a good style for my petite frame. I also have the same belt!
ReplyDeleteLooking lovely here xx

I knew I'd love this jacket Jodie, but didn't want to keep wearing it with black, think I'll be trying some other colours soon too! Thank you for stopping by and your comments. x

Doused In Pink
Thank you Jill, it's an easy look to wear. x
DeleteJacqui, you look lovely. I really like the raw edges on the jacket and I think your loafers work well with those pants and look perfect with the whole outfit. I love retail therapy too, although I have been trying to curb that a bit. Ha, ha. Thanks for sharing your lovely posts! I always enjoy reading them. I get so far behind in commenting though, so if I miss a few I apologize. Have a great weekend. - Amy

Cute isn't it Amy, I think it was only about £12! I've been checking yours out too Amy, and love the piece on different length white jeans, one I've been thinking I may copy - but will keep you posted if I do. Hope you are well. Have a fab week. x
DeleteI like the juxtaposition of this Chanel-inspired tweed jacket and the army green pants with loafers. It strikes that perfect balance between dressed up and dressed down and feels quite chic.
ReplyDeleteI also like your point about Listening Therapy. I agree that I need a soundboard, not someone to try and problem-solve for me. It's something my husband and I do for each other a lot. Earlier in our marriage, we'd try and fix the other's problem and give advice, but we learned that wasn't what either of us was looking for. We just wanted someone to listen so we could talk through our issues, unpack them, and solve them ourselves.
Have a great a weekend!
Liz

Glad you agree with soundboarding. A problem shared is a problem solved as they say. Thanks for stopping by Liz. x
DeleteCool idea, turning the belt around like that! Army green has always been one of my favorites and this whole look just is wonderful.
