Versatility is ... a Denim Jacket.

Morning, and how's Thursday going?

Mixed bag this week - two parties over the weekend one very tame children's party, the other quite the opposite - dancing, drinking and generally enjoying a good night with friends and family.
I knocked up a quick Pavlova (if you can make a meringue quickly) and I was rather pleased with my effort, but I know I was rather, let's say tipsy because I kept telling everyone how easy they are to make - if they're so bloomin' easy why don't I make them more often?
In contrast to dressing up and socialising -  I've been keeping busy with gardening, yes the dreaded hedge needed trimming - no cheeky comments about bushes and trimming please! Lol.
I'd started this mountainous task on Monday, however this came to an abrupt halt when looking upwards in the direction of branches falling down, yes you've guessed it, branch landed smack bang in my eye!  Stupid, stupid woman, why didn't I buy the protective goggles? Why didn't I pay the £5 for a pair of protective goggles?  Oh well you live and learn and I've learnt the hard, painful way - make the effort and buy the goggles!  Yes, I've done so now, and actually got two pairs!!
Happy to add the hedge is looking finely trimmed and beautifully shaped, & after eye examination pleased to report no problems there!

Today I'd like to draw attention to the versatility of a denim jacket.  I've had mine for absolutely years, and quite honestly I wear it on so many occasions it's like a family member!
You can see previously just how true this is paired with black jumpsuit & White Jeans Day.

So whilst reaching for this orange toned stretchy dress I spotted this super scarf from my huge collection.  Pulling together the likes of blue, cream, orange and black this scarf compliments my dress, jacket, sandals along with my colouring.
The M & Co dress I've owned for a while now and It's one of those dresses you can dress up with heels and a bold necklace like I'm wearing here, or you can delve further into my post to catch my jacket on the flip side of fancy.

My orange shift works well dressed up & paired with white M & S sandals, pashmina, which was a birthday present and my cute black/tan clutch, another bargain from my all-time favourite store TK Maxx.
Along with the gold bead necklace and pearl bracelet this elegant and stylish look was good to go.
Ideal for my holiday last year to Rhodes when the 'all dresses' rule worked so well.

By complete contrast I paired the sleeveless dress with my denim jacket.  This dress is such a good length for me, fitting on the knee, whilst the slight cap sleeve is flattering on my arms & cooler too.
The patterned scarf  has given the outfit a casual vibe, exaggerated by the blue wedge espadrilles, which, I must add upon reflection I don't really care for!  What do you think?

Adding my dazzling Zara bag for a bit of pzzaz!  You can also see when I featured this bag on my
5 Over 50 challenge.

Another busy weekend to look forward to, a family BBQ on Saturday and then don't forget it's Fathers Day on Sunday, there's still time to buy a card and gift for your Dad.  Fingers crossed I might not have to cook on Sunday - that's down to the children - yay!

Thanks to Esther Ruby for my wonderful photographs. X

Bye for today my friends. x

  5. Urgent Fungus Destroyer

Plantar mycoses are diseases that should be addressed. Fungal or bacterial infection is only one form of rash. You may also see patches that either starts to ooze or the ones that develop blisters.

As an alternative, you can buy lactobacillus acidophilus powder and create your own douche. Should youn't wish to douche then it is possible to use Lactobacillus acidophilus gelatin capsules.

  10. Ahhh you have had an interesting week with the kids' parties. But look at you shining in that classic orange-red sheath. The denim jacket is always a must for my wardrobe too. I must say the dress with the blue wedges, scarf and denim jacket makes the look very Americana.

Hope you enjoyed Father's Day Jacqui! Welcome by on Thursday and linkup with me pretty lady. And I'd love you to co-host Thursday Moda with me sometimes. I have dates open in July and August. Let me know if you are interested. Thanks, Ada. =)

  14. What a lovely versatile dress. It looks fabulous with the necklace and striped clutch bag. Glad to hear your eye is ok after the fight with the bush. My daughter once rammed a pencil in my eye on a flight home from Morocco. She did it so hard I was scared to take my hand off my eye but it was absolutely fine! My eye sight is bad enough anyway without major trauma!
