Co-host with A pocketful of Polka Dots. A Dress over Jeans?

Hello my lovelies ... how are you?
Very eager to share today's post with you.
I'm happy to say I'm co-hosting with Jennie, she's the lady behind A Pocketful of Polka Dots if you've not visited her blog before I suggest you pop over there tout de Suite, because she's got some enchanting and very stylish ideas.
What's more we'd love you to join the Fabulous Friday Link Up & share your outfits.

Earlier on today you might have seen my Throw back Thursday blog post, I re-visited a few of my favourite outfits from the past year & you can check them out here!

With the weather starting to change here in the UK, the inevitable comes to mind and I start thinking of slightly warmer clothes for the cooler days that are arriving.  I wanted to keep the summer in mind so decided to style this summer dress for colder weather.
White with a thin black pinstripe all over it, my dress has cap sleeves and a round neck, fitting below the knee it's a fabulous dress for a warm summer evening, for the transitional period this M & S shift dress is working really nicely over jeans.
Pulling out my white boot cut option from storage, I haven't worn these for a few years but fancied a change from the slim fitting style I've been wearing of recent months.  Giving an Autumnal feel to my look with some tan accessories - including these block heel court shoes, I've also worn these with a girly dress the perfect Chambray shirt dress.

The necklace is from Matalan you can find similar here. I've really got the hots for it! With gold rings & beads around the tan leather like strands, it really does it for me.  A great length sitting mid way on my neck which is just right for the M & S dress I chose to wear.  My choice proves to be stylish & has endless possibilities.
What outfit doesn't respond well from the addition of a neutral bag?  The clutch I've added is a really basic, beige suedette bag, similar ideas here.  Every bag collection needs statement bags, but they also need the good ol' reliable variety too!  That's what mine is.

Now lets take a look at this link-up, I hope you can join in the fun, sharing your outfits along the way - I can't wait to see what you're all wearing, I love getting ideas for new outfits!

I love that Dawn Lucy's dress is blending with the bold backdrop, but the vertical panels make the dress stand out for the stunner it is - love it 💙

Throw back Thursday!

Hi there,
Somewhat busy today as I'll be posting twice.
I do hope you can pop by later today or tomorrow to catch my co-hosting with another blogger from across the pond!

So for now I thought we could take a trip down memory lane (short term memory lane) that is - lol.
Lets re-visit some of my favourite looks from the past few months.
Starting back in February.  Wearing Jeans and a Jumper, Esther & I managed to grab a half hour on our local beach with the weather playing ball & producing a beautiful sunny day.  It was still rather nippy so I was glad I had the jumper and snood.  I'm looking forward to wearing these stylish boots again, however the weather here in the UK is just not consistent - one day it's boiling hot the next it's cooler with hints of rain!

Moving onto April, I was really made-up when I found My Perfect Chambray Shirt Dress.
I'd been searching for a denim dress, but hadn't found one suitable, that was until checking out what Matalan had to offer.  Knowing this would get plenty of airings it quickly became mine!  I came home and styled it with these neutral accessories.

Moving onto June, these two garments from Bonmarche became firm friends with me over the summer.  Giving me two staple pieces that my wardrobe had been crying our for.
Maxi dresses and Kimono's are the garments that make planning holiday outfits a breeze - fit perfectly into your case and as these both are iron-free items it's a big hurrah!!

You might remember this stylish Jumpsuit I wore at the beginning of this month.  This will be a god-send come the next few weeks, especially if the weather turns cooler (who knows???) I can layer it with clothes underneath as well as a cardigan, jumper of jacket - this jumpsuit is my hero.

I hope you enjoyed my little review of some past outfits.
If you get the chance please pop by later to see my second post of the day, my I have been a 'busy mumma bee'!!!!

Catch you later my friends. X

Weekend Wedding wearing my Jacques Vert Dress.

Morning everyone, how are you on this sunny Bank Holiday Monday? - I've just about survived the wedding and I'm still in one piece albeit a little lot jaded!
What a weekend that was! Phew....

I'll be putting a blog together about my Niece's wedding day - so stay tuned in the next few weeks for a full update.

Today I thought I'd share a few snaps of the special day with you.
Do you love a wedding? Yes me too, where everyone gets dressed up in special clothes, looking wonderful in their Sunday best outfits, new hair styles & flawless make-up.  I'm no different from the rest and Saturday was the special day when me and the family could do just that!

All of my girls decided they were going to have their make-up professionally done so without wanting to be a party pooper I agreed to have mine done too.  I was thrilled with the results, never thinking I'd look anywhere near as good as my young off-spring, but Nina Gregory Make-up succeeded in making me look sophisticated and chic without looking like mutton with too much face-paint on!

My Jacques Vert pale blue lace dress looked and felt just like I imagined it would.  I'd seen this dress some months ago, but thought I may find something that I preferred more, I should have stuck to my first instincts and bought this fashionable piece back in May, but I supposed I wouldn't have managed to buy it in the sale then!
So here's a couple of shots from my weekend wedding, see you soon for the full update.

Thanks for stopping by, please come back again to hear about my wedding weekend.   I've got an exciting co-host posting to share with you all, so I'll see you bright and early Thursday morning. 😁

Much appreciation to you all.

Cropped leg trousers at a bargain price!

Hello there, how are you?

I'm really, really getting excited now as at the weekend we have a big family wedding to attend.  Everything is finally in place now - the outfit is ready and waiting, make-up lady booked, spray tan arranged, hair trimmed and nails ready nearly varnished.  Praying for fine weather - so I'm outside doing the 'sun dance' as we speak!  Lol

Talking about the weather, I'm starting to take notice of the possible change of season!  With Autumn fashion not only starting to trickle into the stores, but is beginning to invade social media sites with some promising ideas floating about.  I for one have fallen head over heels (excuse the pun) for the peep toe boots I see everywhere.  I'm hoping to make them an addition to my wardrobe soon, it's just a case of finding the right ones!
But look what I did find in my local F & F store today - are you liking the wide legged trouser of the cropped variety?
Having to be really careful as to where on the leg these finish, an inch is the difference between a chic, polished outfit looking like you've out-grown your trousers!
I've been very undecided with these, and took a chance before the blighters could get away - so glad I did because they are really a fun, fashion item that's going to look great with so much already hanging in my wardrobe.  These are actually navy, but are looking decidedly black in the photos!
Today being paired with cream - and what's not to love about a lace top?  Elegant and stylish don't you think?
Recently seeing the lovely Mary from the Pouting Pensioner sharing her outfit that involved leg lengthening nude court shoes I adopted the same mind set and donned my own!

How about the ribbon choker?  A cheap trick don't you think?  Especially when it may belong  to one of your daughters friends!!

I'm going to have to let you all into my little secret ... the cropped leg wear costing an astounding £5 - so glad they found there way into my trolley yesterday!

Trousers from F & F.
Lace top from Next.
Nude court shoes from Lotus shoes.
Bag from Lotus shoes.

Looking forward to seeing you on Monday, I'll be sharing with you all a few photos from the wedding.

I'm off to get my nails beautifully polished, grab my confetti and a few tissues - there's bound to be a few tears on Saturday - firstly from me when I say "I remember when you were born" and then from my nephews when I say "give auntie a kiss" 💋 He he he. !!!

Thanks to Emily for taking these photos.

Catch you Monday peeps. X

Transitional pieces & Up to 25%*off in Debenhams - woo hoo!

Morning, how you doing?

I'm really excited to share this feature with you today.
With Autumn fast approaching us in the UK as it seems Summer is preparing to hibernate for the colder seasons.  So should we begin talking about transitional pieces?  I have to say yes and I'm not alone, you can also see what Nicole from High Latitude Style and friends have to say about what we should all be wearing and doing in the build up to Autumn.

Sharing today a little wish list of items that I'm wanting for my transitional pieces.

Peep toe booties have been top of my list thanks to seeing them on all your fabulous blogs.  Going from 0 - 60, with my liking them - I can't wait to get my hands feet on some. Lol

You may remember I have a great affinity with scarves, having over 50 in my collection, but one can never have enough and there's always room for one five more!!😏 With Debenhams having a huge selection both on line and in store, there'll be a scarf for everyone for sure.  I've been looking at a tan and blue floral creation that will be a lovely accessory to my new Paper bag trousers, both complementing the aforementioned peep toe booties!

Now don't forget when you checking out the bargains, ruffles and embroidery are still bang on trend, so if your still to jump of the style train, Debenhams have all your whims catered for bringing your wardrobe bang up-to-date with the new seasons colours and styles.

I've got my head styling lightweight jackets that Debenhams have an abundance of - nothing too heavy or hot!  for the obvious,' meno' time of life.... blahhhh!!!!  Catching my eye today is a cream shower resistant jacket, that might come in handy every once in a while in England!!

All the above items are available from Debenhams, they are offering  Up to 25% Off* Womenswear, so why not grab some bargains so you're ready for the cooler weather and right on trend with your fashion.

I've got about three items in my basket already,  some booties in particular - I'm going to be ready for the in-between season .... will you?

Bye for today - see you on Thursday. X

Style Steal - August.

Hi there, how am I finding you all?  Happy? I do hope so!

I'm rather excited this week as I've got a lovely wedding to attend on Saturday.  My niece is getting wed and all the family will be dressed up to the nines and enjoying a fabulous gathering - who doesn't love a good old shin dig?
We've done the Hen Party - catch a little of what we got up to here., the guys have been on the Stag weekend (the least said about that the better lol), outfits prepared, marquee is up, food is ordered and the party is very nearly about to get started!  I can't wait, having a bank holiday next Monday we'll be partying for a long time -  so lets hope the shoes are comfortable!!!

Another busy weekend has just finished for me, with a festive family function at my mum's house - the reason being ...  the reason ... well just because!!
We've got a close family on both sides, taking the time to get together as often as we can, and with so many of us there's nearly always a birthday to enjoy at least once a month, sometimes twice!
It just so happened that there was an Air Show on the same day, so we got views of the various air machines that were in the skis - some rather noisy, but a great display none-the-less!
Turns out that fellow blogger Claire Justine was watching too, shame we didn't know, maybe we could have met up to say hello in person - I've not met another blogger yet - have you?

Yesterday hubby and I finally used our Christmas present from our daughters.
I've always wanted to visit the London Eye, so on Sunday I finally fulfilled my wish and took a flight on the worlds largest cantilevered observation wheel.
Launched in 2000 it has won over 85 awards for national & International tourism along with outstanding architectural and engineering achievement, and is in fact now become one of the UK's most popular paid for visitors attraction.
The views were simply stunning, we could see for miles, and with the help of the little map we bought, also able to establish where everything was.  We only actually queued for about 45 minutes for the ride having already got pre-paid tickets.  To purchase tickets on the day you're probably looking to wait another half hour (depending on the day and weather).  Included in this is a visit to the 4D Cinema Experience, a 4 minute video showing a birds eye view of London, the London Eye and various other monumental landmarks, with the free 3d glasses you really feel you're flying over London - in all weathers!!!!

Anyway lets get to the nitty-gritty - August's Style Steal!
You may remember last month I started a monthly addition to my blog where I'd steal a style from another blogger & try to re-create it.

You've arrived just in time for the August Style Steal!  How did that come around so quickly?
Did you manage to see my first challenge?   Check out July's Style Steal from Catherine - Not dressed as lamb -  here. X   I'm running this on the third Monday of the month, and I'd love you to pop back each month to see who's look has been 'copied'.

Grey - working well with Citrine and Teal.

Morning all, how are we all doing today?
Lets hope you're all having fun, especially if you're here in the UK - managing to dodge the rain!

Whilst shopping with my girls last week, this over fifty fashion blogger couldn't help but check out the colour matching on display in some stores, one combination in particular caught my eye and I had to do 'that blogging thing' and take a photo.  With my girls calling out "oh she's blogging again" so with getting a few stares I proceeded to take a couple of snaps.
Always on the lookout for new colour mixes I knew I had to try and emulate this interior design in a  fashion outfit.
Here's what I saw  ......
Grey, Citrine and Teal.

How great are these colours next to each other?  There's an outfit in there somewhere....
Let's set to work!
With grey as a base & the additions of teal and citrine, I think this will work.  Having already got a Citrine sleeveless blouse at home, all I now need is something grey.... now where did I put those grey trousers??

Finding the trousers in the bottom of my wardrobe I'm so glad I didn't put them in the charity bag!
Petrol blue was the other colour to find and this I did with my necklace.  Haven't got the foggiest idea where it came from, & not caring because my outfit was complete, like the final piece of a jigsaw.

How's this for a great match - Emily's sunglasses were the perfect colouring and fitted right in with my colour scheme.

So you see you can gain inspiration and ideas from your everyday surroundings, sometimes it's nice to just wander the shops awakening our inner creativity & stimulating our minds - and don't forget it's cheaper than actually buying!

Trousers old from BHS
Top from Next (similar here)
Necklace old (similar I love)
Shoes old from Deichmann (Love these)
Bag from  Jaeger (something smaller here)
Sunglasses from Emily - H & M

Photos today taken by Emily - thanks my darling. X

Have you gotten ideas from your surroundings or from store displays?  I'd love to hear from you if you have, maybe will give me some more ideas to muse over.

Until Monday, thanks so much for taking the time to visit my blog.
Hope you'll be back to view my Style Steal. Who's it going to be?
You can catch last months lucky lady here.

Bye, bye ... X
