A big warm welcome to everyone visiting my blog today, new or old friends I hope to see you again throughout the coming months. A couple of days late with my blog post and hope you forgive my tardiness - a very busy Christmas & New Year is my excuse.
Last year flew by so quickly it seems like only yesterday I was cutting the grass and laying in the garden sunshine drinking prosecco! That being said isn't it fabulous to be at the beginning of a exciting new year? After having a tiny break over the festive holiday I can't wait to get back into blogging, I have plenty of ideas & goals up my sleeve for my 'baby'!
I was totally spoilt this Christmas, with plenty of wonderful presents, both wearable and useful, one in particular I'm eager to start. A photography course I received from two daughters and their partners. That's going to go a long way towards improving my blog, I've learnt a teeny tiny amount since I started, so I'm enthusiastic & impatient to find out more. I'll keep you posted how that one goes.
For NYE celebrations I was out partying with family and friends. We had tickets to go to the local pub where they had a buffet, bar and disco. But the most important decision was - What To Wear!!! Now we all have that problem
Items marked with * have been gifted to me, however these are 100% mine and honest comments.
I loved working with JJ's House back in September where I selected a gorgeous fuchsia pink dress and jacket. This would be an exceptional outfit for a summer wedding and I had hard work trying to finalise my choice from the extensive online collection.
They Kindly asked me to choose another outfit, so I whittled it down to this Winter number.
When I picked this dress out some weeks ago I knew it would be perfect for New Year celebrations, & reckon I've picked a top choice. Velvet is typical for a festive outfit and I wanted to join in the craze so picked this Coffee faux wrap midi dress.*
Although the dress is more mink than coffee coloured it still worked well with my colouring & I kept the neutral accessories I'd planned to wear with it.
The dress is even better IRL with a soft drape that feels warm and delicate against my skin, love the long sleeves, that can also be ruched up to the elbow for a cooler feel. The side zip is both comfortable and flattering & the faux wrap effect means it wont be sliding open to reveal any flashes of skin!
The detachable belt can be worn either in a double knot or bow, I chose the latter for a chic and elegant impression. In my eyes the dress is worthy of any special occasion, not only Christmas and the New Year, so It would cover a date night or meal with friends. What do you think?
What bag do you pair with a faux wrap dress - well a faux snakeskin clutch of course. I've had this over-sized bag for ages, it works so well with many outfits holding all my essentials on a night out. You can check out my pattern matching with it here.
I love wearing these Lotus Nude shoes, they have a sling back and cute mid height heel that's super for dancing. Having cushioned innersoles reduce any discomfort, another positive from these dainty neutral shoes.
I hope you'll give JJ' House s a visit, they have a vast collection of made-to-measure dresses that will fit many outings, my dress has been reduced to under £50, so with such wonderful prices a guilt-free shopping experience too!
Thanks for stopping by, I appreciate your support and hope that 2018 will be good for us all!
Best wishes. X
