How are you all?
Another birthday is being celebrated today, my youngest son turns 21! I still can't believe he can be that age especially as I'm still only 18. 😂
I've had a brilliant weekend, you know when nothing is planned and then last minute someone suggests an impromptu walk along the seafront with a few drinks along the way, culminating with dinner in a local restaurant. Yes we've all had one of those, well sometimes they can be the best nights by far - can't they?
With the weather reaching the high 20's it felt like I was on the Mediterranean rather than the English Channel! I even went out without, yes you read correctly without a jacket.
How lovely it was to stroll by the beach, stopping for drinks and being able to sit outside. How very European drinking outside in the sun! I wound my way through the harbour passing the brightly coloured sailing boats & on past the various houses and beach homes that backed onto the beach. Little BBQ's spreading their delicious aromas of burnt sausages and sweet sticky chicken. Hearing children's laughter whilst they played games by the sea, glasses chinking - all some of the best noises one can hear on a sunny day.
Watching the sunset, and still the air was warm - almost sticky. Ending the evening with a late supper of pasta in the local Prezzo, before catching a lift home & a well deserved sleep.
Here's the photo, & here's the photo being taken!! Lol.
Sunday turned out to be another scorcher. So I said let the fun continue, and it did. A birthday BBQ for my twin nephews followed. It was nice to catch up with the extended family, whilst enjoying the sunshine, and the homemade hokey pokey ice cream! (It's honeycomb) Which was an instant hit too!
Off to prepare for the birthday celebrations, also I need to pack for my short holiday away leaving on Wednesday. I'm off to L'Escala with hubby and four friends and simply can't wait to be back in my second home. Read about my previous visit way back in 2016.
Hope you'll pop over on Thursday to join the #chicandstylish #LINKUP, I love seeing what you're all up to, more importantly what you're all wearing!
Bye for now. X

DeleteYou look fabulous, Jacqui! And it sounds like you had a wonderful weekend. I'm so glad you're having wonderful weather because here in the Algarve, would you believe it's awful?!! Seriously, it's more like the UK – overcast and really quite chilly. It's so unusual for June here. I should have my bikini on and yet I'm indoors with a hot water bottle. I kid you not!!! It's insane!!
