Morning all. How was your past week?
Nearing the end of August now, and it's definitely starting to feel like Autumn/fall is just around the corner with slightly cooler mornings and mushrooms popping up in the garden!
This month the ladies of the Style not Age collective are going wild - Wild about Animal Print!
Emma has bestowed the never-go-out-of-fashion element for our latest challenge, and rather happy I was with this task. I think animal print is rather like Marmite - you either love it or hate it!
Having come a long way since the days of Coronation Street barmaid Bet Lynch donning leopard print "anything" - with the arrival of the more subtle prints such as zebra, giraffe & snakeskin.
As you may already know I love wearing dresses, and tend to wear them a lot. So it's nice to find a dress that can be transformed from casual to dressy just by adding different appendages. For this challenge I opted for heels, but fancy trying baseball pumps and a jumper for a basic relaxed feel.
My middle daughter took these photos for me and I'm so pleased how they've turned out. We nipped into the grounds of the local golf course, worried we might have been turfed out. As you can see we managed to get the shots without being seen - must have been hidden from sight by my animal print dress - ROAR!
Emma picked this months theme, thanks Emma what a great choice! Her leopard skirt and black jumper, boots and tights make for a super Autumnal outfit - you're one step ahead of the game Emma!
Here's what Anna decided to wear for the challenge. Liking her graphic Tee over the leopard trousers - something different. She's on the prowl for our applause - well I think she deserves it - don't you?
You can see that Hilda has chosen well, her outfit is full of different animal prints. She really has taken the bull by the horns to win the trophy for this challenge!
Hope you'll work some animal magic into your outfits for the coming months - it's a fashion statement that's most definitely here to stay!
Have a super Bank Holiday. Catch you on Thursday for #chicandstylish #link party.
Thanks Emily for the photos. X
Until then cheerio. X

What fun we all had with this challenge Jacqui! I love your idea to add pink to the mix - so unusual, but very pretty too! I have to agree with you that Hilda is Queen of the Jungle this month, doesn't she look amazing!

Wasn't it just Anna - love the whole challenge and we all seem to be on the same wave length- what fun! Jacqui Mummabstylish
DeleteLeopard is going to be huge this year I think! Lovely dress Jacqui xx
ReplyDeleteI love it Laurie, and it can be dressed neutrally or with bright colours - I fancy wearing bright blue with it next! x Jacqui Mummabstylish
DeleteEvery time a UK blogger mentions leopard print we talk about Bet Lynch - what a deep impression she made on the nation! Your dress doesn't have any "Bet Lynch" connotions - it looks very classy.
ReplyDeleteLol- that's so true Gail. She's etched on my brain. Glad mine is a little more tame. Thanks for stopping by today. Jacqui Mummabstylish

DeleteJacqui, what a fun challenge and you all look fabulous. I love that dress. Any dress that looks fitted, stylish and hides our bumps and bulges is a win in my book. I love that you paired it with the blush tones of your bag and shoes. You look amazing. Great pictures too! - Amy

Thanks Amy, I had fun styling this challenge. This dress is a real fall-back on old favourite for me, I can't get enough of it lol. x
DeleteI can not believe the price of that dress and you certainly could not leave it behind. I love how you styled it with the feminine blush pink accessories. Finding a photographer can be a problem. Graham also needs to be bribed on occasion!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's true Hilda, great bargain eh? I fancied blue, but didn't have what I needed! She's a good girl and never says no, so I'm very lucky. x
