Michaela Louisa worked for me!

Hello, how's it going in the over fifty fashion world?
I've had a wonderful weekend, attending my niece's wedding.  I love getting dressed up for a special occasion.  Being around the people I love makes it all the more special.

Here's the outfit I chose to wear.  I looked and looked all over the high streets, wanting to stay away from the Wedding-ey 'Mother of the Bride' shops - I feel anything with wedding in the title puts the price up considerably!  So after retuning too many times disillusioned by the high streets and malls I turned to online shopping!  Yes I know I hate shopping this way!  I know it's the way of the future, but I love to see and feel garments, hold them against me, see if the colours suit me and generally have fun looking! Retail therapy IS good for the soul.

With dismay in the stores I turned to my laptop.  Scrolling through endless online shops and special occasion sites I eventually found myself on Ebay.  Spotting this Michaela Louisa beauty in my size and perfect colour I clicked and bought it.  Stressing until it arrived what the colour would actually look like IRL, if it would fit me & would it look right - my worries quickly melted away once it arrived and I tried it on.  I'll let the dress speak for itself … it really is beautiful.

My chiffon dress is flattering in every detail.  Wide shoulders, with a dainty little bolero shrug. A cross over detail at the bust giving great coverage, and no worry of showing too much cleavage.  The clever shaping catches in just the right place under the bust with a fluted chiffon layer hanging to the side adding great detail. Finishing just below the knee where I love a hem to finish.  All in all a winning dress.  Proving maybe I can turn to online shopping in time of need.

Have you spotted my delish silver shoes?  Again I bought these online from Debenhams.  I knew I wanted to wear either grey or silver.  I'd seen plenty in the shops in both colours, but none were the style I desired.  I needed something with a bit more coverage than the bulk standard one strap ankle style.  Alas I'd love the wear something like that, but for me they're just not substantial enough.  These cross over peep toe design really do work well as the shimmery silver compliments my dress beautifully.  I wore these all day and danced all night without so much as pinched toe or painful blister!  They've been reduced in the sale, and also are available in ivory, so I might be tempted to buy them too!

Here's a close up of me and hubby - can you tell I had my makeup applied by a professional?  My daughters idea and really pleased I committed.  Lacey came to the house early on Saturday morning, making me feel at ease instantly.  She knew exactly what colours to use and set to work for my transformation, within an hour her work was complete & I was ready to get into my wedding outfit, take my curlers out and leave.  Such a hassle free morning and I would certainly recommend having your makeup done by a professional for a special occasion - it really was a treat for the £30 it cost!
Last but not least I picked the dainty little necklace to compliment the drop pearl earrings.  It's such a delicate piece and looks like the little pearl beads are floating.  I borrowed a silver sparkly clutch from my daughter, matching the sandals for a sparkly finish. Bling-tastic!
