As it's the last Monday in December, it's the latest instalment from Style Not Age - not only that the latest blog post of the year! This year has gone so fast, I nearly blinked and missed it!
With so much to look forward to in the coming new year - I'm excited to get started. Two new babies are due in 2019 (if one's not already made an appearance) a wedding and who knows what else will happen.
I've well and truly fallen off the diet and drink wagon, eating way too much over the festive season, along with having a few cheeky drinks too. But with the new year just around the corner, my sights are set for 'getting back to normal' & continuing my hard work of losing weight. After all I do have a wedding to get trim for! How about you?
Let's talk Style not Age challenge, this task was set by Emma, and happens to fall on NYE so she aptly named the tag ...
'Sequin in the New Year' catchy eh?
So we're all sharing our sparkly, sequined styles - go on ... take a look - maybe for some inspiration of what you can wear.
I actually wore this outfit out on Saturday night - you see we're staying in on NYE with four friends, so I won't be wearing anything quite so dressy. Anyway our night out was the perfect opportunity to wear this Christmas gift, it's from Oasis and was spotted & bought by my daughter who thought it would be ideal for me, how right she was. A little unsure if it would be too big, once I tried it on I found it was a perfect fit. I love the long sleeves and round neckline - comfortable but still looks edgy.
For a modern feel I opted for skinny black jeans, although my black wide leg trouser would have been another great look to show off the top. To make the outfit even more up-to-date I chose these elegant and sexy Zara stilettos. You'd think they're way too uncomfortable to wear, but having an ankle strap as well as the three crossover straps they keep my feet nicely in place - that's my secret to wearing high heels!
Let's take a look to see what Emma, Anna and Hilda have put together.
Emma has chosen not one but two sequined pieces, if her jacket hasn't got you, then I'm positive her glorious glittery boots will - now why didn't I think of boots!!!
See more on her blog Style Splash.
Anna from Anna's Island Style has opted for a very similar sequin top to mine! Although there's no cheatin' with Anna's outfit, she's gone that little bit further by adding her exciting cheetah print coat.
Finally Hilda looks elegant and sophisticated in her bias cut midi dress. I love the full coverage of sequins, & Hilda will be shining bright to see in the New Year wearing this beauty. Read the full story on her blog Over the Hilda.
I'm so pleased you stopped by today, let me know what you think of our picks, and what you'll be wearing for the final night of 2018.
Here's to 2019, catch you on the other side - stay safe, drink plenty and enjoy your company.
Love and hugs …
