Hi there - thanks for stopping by my over fifties fashion blog today.
The weeks seem to have flown by since Christmas with the safe arrival of my grandson, school run duties and a skiing trip to France I seem to have been on the go for weeks. It's nice to now sit back and collect my thoughts.
I'm still having doubts about my blog though. Am I the only one to question myself? Am I doing the right thing, is my blog working, is it interesting enough? Then there's the comparing, comparing my content, my style & my photography (when I take photos myself). Shall I give up? Shall I carry on? Should I change things? If so what should I change? Gosh it makes me dizzy thinking about it all. In truth I have to brush it off and give myself a good talking to. I'm writing this blog for me, and if anyone joins me along the way then that's a bonus - right? So that being said I'd like to say a big "Thank You" to all who do follow along and support Mummabstylish - I really do appreciate it. 💗
How do you tackle your uncertainty?
One thing I am 100% sure on are these Vionic court shoes. I'd been ogling them on the website for months, and finally got my own pair a few weeks ago!
Items marked with * have been gifted to me, however these are 100% my own honest comments.
Let me tell you a few details about Vionic footwear.
Vionic merge fashion with their trusted biomechanics resulting in not only elegant and stylish footwear but shoes giving maximum comfort too (a very soft, but supportive insole). The secret being a footbed which is injected with a breathable man-made & microfibre sock - do pop over and check out all the detailed information providing help for heel pain such as plantar fasciitis and Achilles tendonitis.
See my first pair of Vionic espadrilles that I wore nearly all the summer.

Style Not Age - Our January Jumpers!
Morning - just in time for the new challenge of the year from the ladies of the Style Not Age collective.
Having literally just returned from skiing in The Alpes I have to say I'm finding it hard to get back into blogging mode right now. Last week on the slopes the temperature reach -14 at times (yes bloody cold) although the skiing conditions of bright blue skies & brilliant sunshine somewhat made up for it. I thought I was fairly fit, but have really felt my age over the past few days with plenty of aches and pains in all sorts of places! Back to normality now, so I'm feeling suitably miserable to be back home, back to reality with a mountain of housework and washing to contend with - the only upside is seeing the kids, grandkids, my family oh & my little dog Roxy. 💗
My blogging friend & challenge setter Anna has been a busy bee recently as have Emma & Hilda, but we've all managed to pull it out the bag for this months challenge -
Our January Jumpers.
I just had to style this vibrant knitted piece, my ideal winter jumper. You see it's cashmere and my first ever at that.

Can a girl ever have enough handbags? #chicandstylish #linkup
Morning lovelies.
How you doing?
I'm still enjoying the slopes as we speak, and have a few days left to relish.
Today being Thursday it's the #chicandstylish #linkup, so do read on through and join in!
Looking through my handbags I realised I didn't have a grey crossover bag, so after dropping a couple of hints (big ones) to the family prior to Christmas, this one landed under my tree. I've enjoyed using it quite a few times already, so it's been a good addition. See it last week with floral & frills also with these wide leg trousers.
I got to thinking about all my other bags - some bought myself, others presents - and here they are!

Style Steal - Snakeskin with a side of Mustard!
Good morning, how's it going?
As we speak I'll be elegantly gliding down the blue runs of Tignes in the French Alpes, smoothly sliding into the mountain restaurants for a warming hot chocolate or vin chaud and practising my French for "where's the Apres Ski" ha ha! I love skiing and can complete a red run without too much resting on my bum! I hate leaving the slopes early and quite often look for a party member who's up for another jaunt down the slopes before stealing an hour's nap. The evening meal is always eagerly awaited by everyone, ravenous after using so much energy on the mountain. The wine goes down really well too! Look out for the post in the next few weeks.
It's the monthly Style Steal today, I missed out December's because it fell right in the middle of Christmas. It's been hovering on my 'to do' list for a while, but have only just managed to get the photos done - thanks to Esther Ruby. X

TK Maxx Floral Trousers with Feminine Frills & Ivory boots #chicandstylish #linkup
Morning lovelies, how are you all doing?
I'm starting to pack for the holiday now, I've been getting everything in order since the beginning of this week & buying the last few bits I need. Going through my clothes I toyed with taking this with me, ending up omitting it. Well I think it might be that bit too dressy for the apres-ski bars in Tignes, not that I've been there before, but all venues are more or less the same. So it will be a couple of pairs of jeans along with a few pretty tops being packed. Surprisingly the hotels, bars and restaurants all tend to be really warm, so I won't be taking loads of jumpers with me & alas this pretty fancy will have to remain at home!
Thought you might like to see it anyway … what do you think? It has to be one of my favourite casual, daytime looks.
How feminine is this pretty blue jumper - I adore the fluted sleeves and frilly stand up collar.

Adrianna Papell Dress and Bolero Jacket.
Hi there, hope you over fifty bloggers are doing well.
I'm busy packing and getting the house in order for my week away. In case you've not seen I'm off to the French Alpes for a weeks skiing, the snow's been falling hard and heavy, so I'm expecting excellent skiing conditions with blue sky's and sunshine! I can't wait to hear the distant chatter of people enjoying the snow, or smell the coal smoke that wafts about. The idea of apres-ski and afternoon tea is floating about in my head too - I cant wait! Are you a fan of skiing or do you cringe at the thought?
With a new year comes new occasions, new babies (two in my family) two weddings, one in my family & the other my friends daughter. I have been looking for a dress to wear to her wedding that's in March & have just recently bought a gorgeous green lace version. I'm keeping that under wraps until nearer the time, so thought I'd share a dress and bolero I wore to my nephews a couple of years ago.

M & S wide leg trousers - #chicandstylish #linkup
Good morning from a chilly Mummab! Isn't the weather freezing (in the UK) - well not literally, but cold enough to just want to stay indoors drinking hot chocolate and watch films in front of a flickering fire. Shame I can't do that as there's work to be done!
With my skiing holiday just over a week away I'm in the throes of sorting my skiing gear - well I say "in the throes of" but really I'm just thinking about getting in the loft and sorting through. I bought new salopettes last year & need to check they still fit me. Things may need another wash, but all in all I'm positive everything will glide along nicely. 😉
Blogging has been slightly neglected for the past few days, I've been taking my princess to school as my daughter only recently gave birth to my grandson. The walk to school has been lovely, trying to catch up with a speedy 4 year old on a scooter was probably a funny sight - had me running after her nearly all the way, at least it will help with my skiing next week! It's been some years since I had to do this, and was somewhat weird to drop her to the same school her mum went to! Can I really be that old?
Today's outfit is based around these wide leg trousers. One of my all time favourite styles to wear and when I spotted these in the M & S outlet last week I just had to buy them, especially when they turned out to be £10!

Loving these Lotus knee length boots.
Hi there 👋 how's January going?
Settling in nicely to the slower pace now, but hating the dark and dreary days! One o'clock felt like 5 today it was so dull - what's the best thing to do when the weather is horrible? Book a holiday - more importantly a skiing holiday. So yours truly is off to Tignes in the French Alps in two weeks times! The sad thing is there's only 5 going this year quite different from the 25 a few years ago! Fortunately we did manage to get a great last minute deal so every cloud has a silver lining.
Dressing for cold damp days calls for a nice pair of long boots, so these from Lotus shoes were a welcomed addition a few weeks ago. They look fabulous with black tights & my short tunic dress, but look even better with the pleated skirt & chunky jumper I wore yesterday.
Items marked with * have been gifted to me, however these are 100% my own honest comments.
I've wanted some knee high boots for years, so when I saw these Janessa Leather boots* on the website I really wanted to try them. I have wide calves so struggle to find boots to fit. I ordered them in a seven, which fitted pretty well with thick ankle socks. I have to admit they zipped up to a very snug fit, but felt okay. Having worn them a few times already they're shaping up very well.

Best nine of 2018! #chicandstylish #linkup
Happy New year!
Welcome to my over fifty fashion blog.
If you follow me on IG you may have seen Mummab is on cloud nine, you see my daughter gave birth to my grandson on New Year's Eve - a beautiful baby boy. He came three days early and really lifted my spirits after losing my beloved Mother-in-law back in August.
So into 2019 with one new arrival under my belt I'm patiently waiting for another due in April, then onto May when my second eldest daughter gets married, I'm going to be one busy lady for sure.
I hope you caught my recent post sharing what the ladies from Style not Age presented. Our tag 'Sequin in the New Year' was a winner, I love all the outfits and would wear any of them in a heartbeat as sequins never really go out of fashion. Having seen Kellyann from This Blonde's Shopping Bag wearing them with jeans that's just what I intend to do on a future night out! 😊
I'm sure you have all been busy over the past few weeks just like me and my goddaughter, so unfortunately I've not got any suitable outfit shots to share with you, so I was thinking what about re-visiting my most favoured blog posts of the year?
Without further ado here they are:
When I finally found this Michaela Louisa two piece on ebay I was itching to wear it to my nieces' wedding. I paired it with silver sandals and a sparkly clutch bag, and after loosing a few inches a couple of months into my diet I felt a million dollars - especially having my make-up professionally applied!
