Adrianna Papell Dress and Bolero Jacket.

Hi there, hope you over fifty bloggers are doing well.
I'm busy packing and getting the house in order for my week away.  In case you've not seen I'm off to the French Alpes for a weeks skiing, the snow's been falling hard and heavy, so I'm expecting excellent skiing conditions with blue sky's and sunshine!  I can't wait to hear the distant chatter of  people enjoying the snow, or smell the coal smoke that wafts about. The idea of  apres-ski and afternoon tea is floating about in my head too - I cant wait!  Are you a fan of skiing or do you cringe at the thought?

With a new year comes new occasions, new babies (two in my family) two weddings, one in my family & the other my friends daughter.  I have been looking for a dress to wear to her wedding that's in March & have just recently bought a gorgeous green lace version.  I'm keeping that under wraps until nearer the time, so thought I'd share a dress and bolero I wore to my nephews a couple of years ago.

Here's the dress I chose, I bought my cobalt blue Adriana Papell two piece for the family wedding.  I found it whilst scouring my local John Lewis (yes I had left it to the last minute again).  It was Winter when I wore it, so added my faux fur coat to keep me warm.  I find this style of little layers over the dress both figure hugging and figure hiding.

There's a deep v neckline which is a bit flaunty, but the bolero jacket keeps everything in order. It covers the arms beautifully because it's made of lace.  I prefer to keep a little jacket on over a dress like this, and it was warmer to wear, but honestly not too warm!

When I wore this dress, I chose to add cobalt court shoes.  Whist they felt ultra comfy when I bought them - that all changed on the day my toes were aching from trying to keep the stretched shoes on and sore from the painful blisters that appeared!  You can imagine where they ended up!  Yes in the bin!  Good riddance!  You can see the Zara high heels came out to play, I adore these and feel sassy whenever I wear them.

Photos were kindly taken by Esther Ruby - great aren't they!
Thank you for stopping by today, hope you'll join me on Thursday for the #chicandstylish #linkup.
Bye, bye for now. X

  3. Jacqui...that dress is exquisite on you. I really like it with the black shoes instead of matching....it seems more modern!

  4. Cobalt blue is the colour I am looking for a dress in for my daughters wedding. I have already purchased one dress but not too sure that it is 'the one'. Plenty of time yet to find the perfect outfit but 2 holidays before the date so my shape may change!
Enjoy the skiing - it's been many years since I last hit the slopes.
