Skiing, Ballet and Ballroom + #chicandstylish #linkup

Hi there - hope you over fifty fashion bloggers are well.
Happy Valentines day to you all too!
Not something I participate in as I feel I don't need a special day to celebrate my 'beau' but love hearing stories from people who do - so good luck and 'carry on valentine-ing' my friends. Mwahh 💋
What I do join in with is #linkup's and it just so happens my #Chicandstylish is live right now so do add a post of two.

This is what you might call a 'catch up post'.  With the busy times I've had since Christmas all these occasions have been on my blogging 'to do' list since then!

Where shall I start?
Okay you might have seen on Instagram I travelled to London to meet up with a blogging friend.
Anna was in town and we decided to convene at a swanky London Hotel, okay it was the one nearest her afternoon appointment collecting her visa. Read all about Anna's recent trip to Cape Town for a modelling job.
We had arranged to meet at the Montcalm Royal London Hotel in Finsbury Park, as soon as we met we started taking and didn't stop until we had to depart for our trains home. It's brilliant to get together with fellow bloggers IRL. Chatting about the do's and don'ts of blogging and what's on the horizon for each of us.  It's not the first time we'd met, we managed to have a half hours flight on The London Eye with another couple of bloggers - catch the meeting here, that, my friends was no different and the time flew by just as quickly.

The following Sunday was our annual skiing trip.  Somewhat smaller than the 20 - 25 family and friends that usually enjoy the slopes of the French Alpes.  This year there were only five of us, but I must say with excellent skiing conditions we have a fab time that came and went all too soon.  The snow was fluffy, the sky was blue and the sun shone brightly all week bar one afternoon.  The only down-side was it was so cold -14 was the coldest I've ever encountered, (the thermals were greatly appreciated, albeit extremely unattractive). I can't even begin to imagine how cold my friends in the States have been, and want to send them a big warm hug through the blog. 🌞
When you look forward to something all year, isn't it crap when it finally arrives & then it's over in a flash - I said to hubby it's strange to think we've now got to wait a whole year until we do it again!!  Guess what?  Hubby has booked for the two of us to drive back to the Alpes and have a cheeky weekend savouring the slopes again - lucky Mummab X

The gondola was ever so slightly out of place in the restaurant, however it was nice and warm wrapped up in the fury covers, a novel little seating area for one!! Lol.

Even in the restaurant my hands were cold, there's me spouting on about how warm it is everywhere on the slopes, that was until the temperatures hit -14, game changer or what?  Glad I ended up taking this The-Bias-Cut jumper with me! Looks super chic with the black leather gloves don't you think!

Caught on camera eating cake, how naughty!  To be fair if you'd have seen my going for it on the black slope home you'd realise I was having my cake and eating it - ha ha.

Have you ever thought about ballroom dancing?  We'll I have.  Every year when Strictly Come Dancing arrives on our screens I watching longingly at the telly wishing I could learn how to dance like the professionals.  The series starts and finishes without me learning so much as a foxtrot, waltz or jive!  So when my bestie asked if I'd like to join her at the club two-stepping to music I jumped in with two left feet - jokes!  I've been going for three weeks now, which means the 45 minutes each class takes nearly makes up an evenings dancing & luckily I've learnt a bit more than the hokey cokey, yay! So far we've learnt the rumba & the foxtrot, although I'm not sure if I would make the finals of SCD just yet - lol.  If enthusiasm and patience have anything to do with it I might just be able to shimmy a few steps together at the next family party!

Last Saturday I entered a ballet exam!  Yes a real exam with an examiner and full ballet attire (sorry no photos).  We'd spent the past year learning two routines and a dance, okay only for 15mins at the end of the class so not long enough to really remember things - does anyone else have that problem?  Forgetting something you'd just learnt & definitely memory block by the following week - old age problems eh!
The rest of the weekend was spent cutting the ever growing boundary hedge, we're halfway through and need to get rid of the spoil.  Now hubby's bought a shredder, so you know what I'll be doing for the next few weeks! Working in the garden until lunch time on Sunday gave way to roast beef preparations.  Really - doesn't it take forever to prep roast dinners, only to be eaten in a fraction of the time!  All the family except three made it, I love having all the family together - it's normally very loud and extremely busy just the way I like it!
