Paisley Blouse with Grey Trousers + #Chicandstylish #linkup

Morning, hope your weather is playing fair.  It seems we have one awful day with wind and rain beating down on us and then another day that's sunny but chilly.  I always seem to pick the first one to take photos on!
I had a super day on Monday taking photos with Esther Ruby, alas the weather was a pain so we shot them indoors!  Looking forward to seeing them as I ventured into the lingerie world eekk!  Sharing a set that was gifted to me from Playtex.  I'll be bravely sharing this post in the next week or so once they've been studied, checked and certified in detail! Lol.
Today I was left to my own devices as all the children were out at work so I've been shopping for a few new bits - shush don't tell the family as I've just had a wardrobe cull!!  Mind you I haven't actually parted with anything yet, it's still all in a pile.  I might just be pulling some bits back again as I've seen some similar tops in the shops today - well they might just come in handy again one day!

Here's part of the outfit I wore - well just the blouse really.  I picked it up in H & M just before departing for my skiing break, I think It will go well with jeans which is just what I wore it with all day.  Anyway that's an outfit for sharing another day.  Here's what I will be wearing when the weather gets a tad a lot hotter.

What do you reckon on the pattern mixing?  I'm liking it, but still unsure whether it's 'right' or not.  Do let me know what you think about my blending attempts in the comments box please. X
I always seem to be drawn towards paisley, so true to form I bought the blouse without even trying it on.  I chose a smaller size which turns out fits me really well.  In the shop it was paired with tan, love, love love it.  I knew I'd got tan peg style trousers hanging at home, so had no qualms in returning with it - such a shame when I tried said trousers on, they were way too big!!  Yes I know I should be pleased but I've not worn them that often and now they'll have to go!  I'll be on the look-out for a smaller size now.

As I mentioned above I wore the blouse with faded jeans, but wanted to see how it looked with grey, namely my recently purchased grey wide leg trousers that I paired with pink.  Rather liking the outcome, the pale blue in the paisley is portraying grey which blends beautifully with my pants.

I reached for my navy soft PU jacket, but my hand settled on this patterned jacket.  I forced myself to just see how jacket and blouse looked together - not bad eh?  I can just about manage mixing the same colours, the bigger picture of actual pattern clashing will have to be worked on I think!

Final touches were the grey bag I got for Christmas see it among my many other handbags & two strings of grey & silver beads.
Stepping out of my comfort zone by teaming my cute little Aztec jacket with the patterned blouse - I've found the trick is to keep to the same colour scheme - tying everything together.

  1. I really like your jacket in this outfit! I have a similar one but it's a texture rather than a print. Such a similar design though! I'm looking forward to wearing mine when autumn arrives!

Hope that you are having a great week so far :) We have had a break with the heat and humidity and had some rain which has been a wonderful relief!

  8. I adore this outfit, Jacqui. I think the jacket takes center stage because the print is so different and fun. But the blouse goes well with it because it almost looks solid in theses photos and doesn't compete!!

  9. Oooh! I REALLY like this pattern mixing. Sometimes I struggle with mixing patterns that are too different but this one totally works! I think the pants definitely help that. They tie together the gray tones in both the blouse and the jacket. Great job!

  17. Gray is one of my absolute favorites so I love this combination! And I REALLLLY like the combined patterns. I wore two patterns the other day and wondered if it was "OK" but I felt like it looked great - and of course, it was various shades of grays and blacks. Lovely photos!

  20. I love the jacket and blouse together! I have a jacket that's very similar to yours, I was surprised by how versatile it is. Too bad those tan trousers are too big...it gives you the perfect excuse to do some more shopping ;-)
