Welcome to the 400th Mummabstylish blog post! Quite a feat in my book. With many highs and lows, I'm actually rather proud of my little baby, my fashion from an over fifty point of view & even though there's been times I wondered why I'm bothering - I actually love what I'm doing, it's given me my identity back so for the foreseeable future I'm staying put!
I'm off shopping today, going to check out what's new and hot. Will be posting on my IG stories so do take a look. I need to find accessories for the green dress I've purchased for the wedding I'm attending next month. I think I might go for nude, but will see what grabs my attention.
Another busy weekend working in the garden on Saturday, we're hosting our daughters wedding in May so the garden needs to be in tip top condition which means cutting and shaping the boundary hedges to a more manageable height, along with flattening more of the garden ready for grass seed. We're having a marquee with all the trimmings, & since the new year it's becoming very real. We will be celebrating a wedding and seeing our daughter move on - yikes! I've got to fit in mother of the bride dress shopping, and I've not got an iota of what styles or colours I want so will be starting with a blank sheet! You'll all be the first to know when I eventually do find 'the outfit'.
Today is also the Mummabstylish Style Steal. With so much inspiration from your blogs it was hard to chose a candidate. Who do you think I've copied this month?
Well were you right? Yes it's Andrea's style that stirred my thought buds this week. I picked up some red jeans in the Zara sale, which is SUCH a blooming good sale - with REAL bargains to be had. I always find three of four pieces in there. It was no different when I popped in before my skiing holiday. You might remember I came home with another pair of black jeans, a pair of black straight leg trousers and a cute long line blouse. None have been featured on the blog yet so do stay tuned.
So back to lovely Andrea, always looking on point - she's one of those enviable people who could put a bin bag on and look like she's stepped off the catwalk of Paris, London, Milan or New York. If you're not a follower of Andrea, do stop by her blog. She shares her fashion ideas, recipes, her family and her wonderful new home. Find her on Living on Cloud Nine.
For my steal I dug out my leopard print courts - don't look to long and hard at them because they're ancient and really look it - I'm desperate for a new pair and now wish I'd picked the Vionic Josie in the leopard design rather than the snakeskin I got, that's the trouble with me never happy - ha ha!!! Along with these I borrowed (again) my daughters denim shirt. I really need to find my own as I know I'd benefit from one - maybe I'll look for one today.
Here's the little cat that posed for photos too, there were two, but the second was way too interested in prowling his surroundings. Just as attractive this friendly feline had been visiting my house on various occasions mewing and scratching at my door - I though it might have been lost or abandoned (it had no collar or name tag) so put a message on the local Facebook group. I was assured by a neighbour that it was looked after, loved and fed by it's owners two doors away, it was a little minx and on no account should I feed it! Happily assured of it's well-being I left alone the bengal beauty, who visits to say hello at least once a week. 😸
My Jaeger pearl necklace almost duplicates Andrea's statement piece. Mine was a gift from hubby, who always throws a curve ball Christmas present & most certainly gets it right. X
Thanks so much for visiting today - I hope I've given you some ideas. Please do subscribe to my blog so that you hear what's happening in the land of 'Mummabstylish' first hand.
