I'm featuring a 'sort of' Style Steal today - Having left arranging this to the last minute I've improvised!
I'll share all with you in a bit.
How was your Easter? Mine was busy as usual, spent quality time with the family, and in our small house it was rather packed. Fortunately the weather was playing nicely so we spend lots of time in the garden - enjoying rather than working - lol. We were out on Saturday night, having a drink with my sister & brother-in-law. Sunday with my daughter and her family we decided on a BBQ, the first one of the year so we had to buy a new bbq as our other was literally on it's last legs.
On Monday we had 11 plus 4 grand-kids to dinner, we all just about managed to fit around the table - phew. Roast Turkey plus trimmings on the menu, topped off with homemade Banoffe pie, yes the diet went out the window for the weekend - well someone had to eat the Easter eggs didn't they! 🤣
There's now a stint of birthdays to celebrate which started with my daughter's on Tuesday, followed closely by daughter-in-law's, hubby's and then SIL. Then I have a bit of a break until the next batch.
So back to my Style Steal. What do you think to wearing a green dress to a wedding? My mum keeps telling me it's unlucky to wear green to a wedding, but I couldn't resist this beauty I picked up in M & S a few months ago. Emerald green isn't a colour I wear very much of, but always think it suits my colouring - dark hair & hazel eyes - what are your thoughts?
Let's walk you through my steal . A lace dress has to be a timeless addition to any wardrobe. I'm passionate about anything lace & quite frankly can't get enough into my wardrobe. I have many lace dresses, and plenty of lace tops too! See my black lace dress, white lace dress & another black lace dress.
As I mentioned before I love bold, bright colours and this green number is no exception. I bought it in the M & S outlet (this is very similar) with a vague idea it'd be great for the recent wedding. Having found nothing else suitable I set about getting this dress wedding ready which wasn't too hard because I borrowed my daughters bag and found some cute shoes in Dorothy Perkins!
I hear you asking "who's style have you stolen this month"? well it's not a blogger it's my middle daughter! She bought a very similar dress a few years ago. I really liked both colour & lace design and have always been on the lookout for something in a style that would suit me - voila this is the one I found!
Emily opted for silver accessories whereas I felt my dress called for nude shoes and bag. What might you have worn with it?
The dress has a long cami style slip which finished just above the knee, leaving a few inches that were see-through which balanced out the neckline and short sleeve that had the same effect.
Added bonus this sassy back slit detail - a nice addition to a stunning dress.
These court shoes were so comfortable, I wore them all day and danced the night away in them too - so happy because they look top notch as well! I find a strap across the arch supports the foot and keeps it in place. Unusually I bought these online from Dorothy Perkins, I bought two sizes and returned the pair I didn't want - check them out here.
