An exciting weekend for me.
My Friday was filled with anticipation and the subsequent arrival of my grandson. After waiting a few days for him to make an entrance he finally put in an appearance mid evening. I rushed over to meet him after already falling in love with him! Strange how we can love our children and grand-kids before we've even met them!
More hugs and cuddles on Saturday after another stint in the garden I joined the family to celebrate my grandson's second birthday. How sweet to see him singing 'Happy Birthday' whilst opening presents and eating crisps & sweets! My daughter had made an amazing birthday cake which totally went against my Keto diet but I just had to have a
Is there anything you struggle with when you're blogging? There doesn't seen to be a day goes by without having to work out how to do something! Recently I've been trying to delete something from my HTML, but felt like I was going round and round in circles - there didn't seem to be anywhere to 'go' to for proper information - thank god for YouTube sometimes. But when even that doesn't have the answers who do you turn to? I eventually got things sorted with the help of my son-in-law to be, with a great big sigh of relief when my 'problem' was resolved. X
Another 'problem' I've been having huge issues with is photo taking. I end up using so many of the different settings, never really knowing exactly what I'm doing. So with the help of YouTube again I took myself off into the garden and had a play about, I had a sort of 'light-bulb' moment and have produced some relatively acceptable photos even though the setting was naff!
So my #ootd is more about the photos and less about the outfit. But I certainly wasn't blue with the outcome!
Building my monochromatic outfit around this cobalt blue chiffon skirt this is cute that's been featured numerous times on the blog already. Summer is one of the best times to wear flirty skirts, but wearing this with a jumper in Spring doubles the amount of wear. Here I paired it with a bell sleeved knitted jumper from H & M, this is similar. Doesn't the flouncy skirt with the heavy knit create a textured & interesting look? A feminine vibe gives way to a practical & casual everyday look.
Teamed with navy courts, (exact copies) and two tone tote bag, I'd wanted to throw my denim jacket into the mix, but the sleeves on the jumper wouldn't allow that! How Rude! Lol.
My bright, bold blue and green necklace was a welcome addition and the finishing touch I needed to complete my blue look.
I love the swish and swirl of a pleated skirt, there's just something about wearing them that make me feel very ladylike and dainty, but adding the jumper is the perfect twist for a non conforming outfit.
Do let me know what you think of my photography efforts, I love hearing from you all. X
Thanks for stopping by today, so appreciate your support.
See you here again on Thursday - there'll be another #Chicandstylish #Linkup to join as well.
Do let me know what you are doing this week, are you taking advantage of the Spring additions in the stores or trying out a new purchase?
Bye for now lovelies. X

Congratulations Jacqui! I've often marvelled that the grandchild instantly knows that we are someone to trust and bond with. Genetics interest me so much about how this works, the smell of us pairing with our offspring. Don't beat yourself up over the photos! I think maybe a little lighter but other than that these look fine xx
ReplyDeleteThanks for the help Laurie, trying to learn a little bit by bit. Have a super week and thanks for stopping by. x
DeleteCongratulations on your two grand sons! I have never noticed they're was something wrong with your photos They always look good to me. However.... I do have a issue with receiving mails from you when you published a post. I now get a only notifications but they're is no link to your site in it. Hope I didn't gave you extra work😂😂😂😂
ReplyDeleteOhh thanks so much for your lovely comments. I'm working on the notification Nancy, I thought it was all sorted, will be checking it out - thanks for letting me know. xx
DeleteIt's amazing how much you have to learn as a blogger - and like you say, hard to find experts or help anywhere with the answers. I think my worst moment was discovering an issue with "canonical links" (don't ask!) which was affecting Google ratings. Love you in blue, wish it suited me!
ReplyDeleteYes most definitely, I'm very proud of how far I've come. Oh that sounds difficult!!!
DeleteYour outfit is so cute, love the skirt and your statement necklace! Congrats on your grandson's safe arrival! What a great weekend for you :)
ReplyDeleteI like the moody look of your photos! :) I am so bad, I really need to play with my camera more, I tend to just tweak the settings slightly when I use it and have it on auto most of the time!
Hope your week is off to a good start :) The weekday wear linkup is live on my blog, I'd love you to join! :)
