Floaty Dresses for Summer - Style Steal.

Hi there.
So excited that you've joined me today - it's not only my May edition of the Style Steal, but also my brand new series of COPY CAT!!! YAY!
I'm so pleased to tell you that I have a wonderful blogger friend join the series today - do read on to see who it is. X
Anyway back to my Style Steal.  I could have chosen a number of bloggers to copy this month, but one lady in particular caught my eye, she was wearing the classic floaty dress that will be on repeat by everyone I reckon.  So my "twin" is based around her summery dress.

Did you guess who I was copying today?  Yes it's Laurie - Vanity and Me Style.  Sharing her new linen dress from M & S which looks super on her don't you think?  Linen is always a top contender for summer wear, and the quality of Marks means it will get worn tons come the warmer months & still look good.  My dress is also from M & S, so I'm kind of emulating twice!

I picked up this flippy dress in the M & S sale towards the end of last summer, it only managed one outing when I wore it in Abu Dhabi last Novemeber.  I'll really happy it can now make another appearance in the better weather we're hopefully going to have, albeit a tad big for me, but with the tie belt, I can tighten the waist for a better fit.

I wish we'd got some shots showing movement in the dress - it's a lovely material and swishes about as I walk - but you'll just have to take my word for it! I love the length on me, just mid calf for an elegant look.  The three quarter sleeves are wispy too, but fortunately not long enough to drag in my dinner.

The high front neckline balances the rear split from neck to bust - a little hard to do the tiny button up, so I needed the help of Esther when we took photos - my fingers don't seem as nimble as they used to be - do you have that problem?  Fiddly little buttons and hooks take ages for me to do up as do necklaces - thank god for partners and kids!

You can see the pale off white background is covered in pretty coral flowers and shades of green leaves - to me it gives off an oriental feel as the long thin leaves look like bamboo shoots.

A basket bag for the beach, but it also makes a cracking addition to my delicate dress too.  Found the mules that I had forgotten about for the second time, how do I manage to lose track of what shoes I own, too many I hear you say - lol!  So these are from Clarks, but are a couple of seasons old, so I don't think they'll still be around.  These are nice substitutes though.

COPY CAT

Welcome and thanks for stopping by.
It's the very first edition of my new series .... Copy Cat!  Featuring all of you in your 'pinched' outfits.
You may well know already every month I copy someone's style, either an outfit, colour scheme, personal style or maybe a title, I wanted to include you having seen many of your copies of other bloggers.  If you have an outfit that you emulated please do send both photos to me and I will feature them on the blog.  I will link back to your blog page, and all I ask is that you do the same - I will let you know when you will be featured!
Without further ado, meet Shelbee - Shelbee on the Edge. she's copied the look of another stylish blogger friend Jennie A Pocket full of Polka Dots.
Wearing dungarees has proved a fabulous casual look for both Shelbee and Jennie, there relaxed outfit makes them look ready to tackle anything.  Well done for the copy Hun!

If you'd like to be featured in the next series of Copy Cat all you need to do is send me two photos, one of you and one of the person you've copied.  Send you entries to berryjacqui38@gmail.com  Please remember to link back to my blog as I will do the same for you.

Thanks for visiting today.
My photos were taken by Esther Ruby - cheers for doing a fabulous job Hun.
I'm excited to tell you I bought myself a birthday present & have been testing it out today.  I was reading Catherine - Not dressed as Lamb blog and she suggested stressed to get great shots use a standard, fast lens so have been on Ebay an bought one.  It's a Chinese version which had great reviews and was lots cheaper, as I'm still very much a novice I thought that was a wise option.  Will have to see how my 'bargain' turns out, but the shots so far have been so much better - yay!
Bye for now. X

  4. That is a lovely dress and the basket is perfect with it! Very elegant and summery. I have been using my husband's belt on a couple pairs of pants that I really like but that are a little too big at the waist.

  8. I love these floaty dresses on both you and Laurie as they look so elegant and terribly afternoon tea, if you know what I mean. I'm on the look out for some more summer frocks and will be searching for something like this.
