So excited that you've joined me today - it's not only my May edition of the Style Steal, but also my brand new series of COPY CAT!!! YAY!
I'm so pleased to tell you that I have a wonderful blogger friend join the series today - do read on to see who it is. X
Anyway back to my Style Steal. I could have chosen a number of bloggers to copy this month, but one lady in particular caught my eye, she was wearing the classic floaty dress that will be on repeat by everyone I reckon. So my "twin" is based around her summery dress.
I picked up this flippy dress in the M & S sale towards the end of last summer, it only managed one outing when I wore it in Abu Dhabi last Novemeber. I'll really happy it can now make another appearance in the better weather we're hopefully going to have, albeit a tad big for me, but with the tie belt, I can tighten the waist for a better fit.
I wish we'd got some shots showing movement in the dress - it's a lovely material and swishes about as I walk - but you'll just have to take my word for it! I love the length on me, just mid calf for an elegant look. The three quarter sleeves are wispy too, but fortunately not long enough to drag in my dinner.
The high front neckline balances the rear split from neck to bust - a little hard to do the tiny button up, so I needed the help of Esther when we took photos - my fingers don't seem as nimble as they used to be - do you have that problem? Fiddly little buttons and hooks take ages for me to do up as do necklaces - thank god for partners and kids!
You can see the pale off white background is covered in pretty coral flowers and shades of green leaves - to me it gives off an oriental feel as the long thin leaves look like bamboo shoots.
A basket bag for the beach, but it also makes a cracking addition to my delicate dress too. Found the mules that I had forgotten about for the second time, how do I manage to lose track of what shoes I own, too many I hear you say - lol! So these are from Clarks, but are a couple of seasons old, so I don't think they'll still be around. These are nice substitutes though.

ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty dress! You look very swooshy in it, Jacquie!
ReplyDeleteThat is a lovely dress and the basket is perfect with it! Very elegant and summery. I have been using my husband's belt on a couple pairs of pants that I really like but that are a little too big at the waist.
