I'm just about starting to come back down to earth after the weekend of wedding celebrations.
It ended up a two day event with friends and family returning on Sunday to finish off the last of the drinks along with a hog roast. It's been a hectic, emotional and draining weekend, but am so pleased with how it all went. I'll be posting a blog about it very soon, just need to see the photos and get into the right frame of mind start it!
Until then how about taking a look at another outfit I've recently come across. I found the cropped trousers lurking in the wardrobe. I bought these from M & Co, these are nearly the same, a few years ago as i'd lost some weight then and needed some new pieces. With me gaining weight they gained a back seat in the cupboard and have only just been re-introduced after my weight loss - I can see why I wanted to buy them as they are nice and casual for everyday wear, but with the addition of a smart blouse can be transformed to a somewhat dressier affair - maybe lunch with the family, or drinks with friends.
The crops can work perfectly well with a basic tee shirt and baseball trainers, but today I opted for wedges and an OTS blouse to create a feminine, elegant look. I bought the top in T K Maxx a few years ago. This was my first dabble with off-the-shoulder styles (you can see when I styled it over a lace skirt) and have worn it many times since. The elastic has started to stretch so it might have to be ditched or become an indecent top!
The chino style trousers sit high on the waist, great for a snug fit and nice finish without any lumps and bumps. I had to wear a neutral belt just to cinch the waist in & fully tucked the blouse in too. My neutral separate with splashes of army green has dainty little faux buttons running nearly halfway down the center. With long sleeves that have a defining tie detail on the bottom - a neat little finish that I love.
Sticking my best foot forward in wedges - I find them so comfortable and easy to walk in - how about you? These gold espadrilles are from F & F and for the price I paid were well worth the money, however they are looking a tad tired lately so I'll be replacing them with a pair I've just received from Lotus Shoes - do watch out for that post in due course.
Picking out gold accessories to match the belt - I feel gold accents compliment neutral shades beautifully.
You may remember seeing my basket bag on the blog loads of times, it's just such an interesting component for so many looks. I'd recommend getting one, as they just don't date and you can pick one up for a few pounds in more or less any shop! Do let me know if you do buy one.
