Thanks for stopping by my little blog today.
My blog is aimed at ladies over 50, however I love to have all age groups stop by and join me.
Come on over - you're all welcome. *waves welcoming hand*
With the summer weather more or less playing nicely lately, I thought it would be a good idea to share a sunny beach dress with you. You all know I love wearing dresses as they are so easy to wear. There's no matching separates to contend with, the hardest thing is matching accessories. Here's where my recent acquisition from Lotus Shoes came up trumps!
I found myself in charge of a discount voucher for H & M, and set about spending it before it ran out! I proceeded to check out the store last week, and found only two pieces that caught my eye - both dresses and both lovely. Blog post about the second purchase soon!
I figured this beach style beauty would work really well with the sandals I picked out from the Lotus Shoes website. Don't they look like they were made for each other?
H & M have a vast collection in the stores, and I love nothing more than sifting through when I've got a spare few mins, they pack a lot in their shops and there's always an exciting piece hidden away just waiting to be found. This red floral crepe maxi was no exception, and was in a different section than I would usually look (the younger section) so I pulled my size and took a chance. The £14.99 was well spent - especially with the discount voucher so I've bagged myself a cute little dress for a bargain price. Roll on my next beach day as I'm all set!
Also available in four other colours including a flamboyant yellow.
Beach dresses are designed to keep you cool, therefore are ideal on a hot walk to & fro the beach or pool, so the side split in this one is a welcomed addition. I'm not really a big fan of high splits, but feel for beach attired it's highly acceptable. Same can be said for the spaghetti straps, although I don't mind wearing this style when it's hot, and can always be covered with a little jacket or even a tee shirt underneath for cooler days.
The near flat slip on sandals fit as you would imagine and have a good comfy, spongy sole to please my feet. I enjoy wearing toe-post footwear, and as they've been missing from my wardrobe recently I was pleased to see these take their place. They're good to slip on anytime & as they're white they go with anything. The Alicia* sandal comes in two other pretty colours pink and navy, but there's limited availability in sizes & colours and have been reduced to £20 in the sale - so don't hang about go for it.
The elasticated band across the instep is wide enough to support the foot with ease. The four dainty flowers are embellished with sparkly diamantes that run down the toe-post giving a fresh look to the stylish sandals.
Thanks go to Esther Ruby for taking these fabulous shots - I managed to keep her entertained whilst trying to discreetly change outfits in the car!!
Do stop by the Lotus Shoes website to see the summer sandals, I can thoroughly recommend them.
Bye for today.
Hugs X
The colour and pattern on your dress are lovely and you obviously get on well with sandals with the toe thong. Something I haven’t managed. Let’s hope for sunny school holiday weather
