Another day - another Dress!

Hi there.
A busy week for MummaB, and after a busy weekend too I'm starting to think about my trip to Rome for some rest and relaxation.  Well I know I wont be resting I'll be sightseeing however I wont be cooking or working so that almost counts as taking it easy - right?
Yesterday I went to my grandson's christening at the local church where daughter and SIL married, followed by a informal gathering at the cricket club for about 80 family and friends.  Such a lovely afternoon with the weather playing fair and the children playing even fairer - lol.   I made my usual profiterols topped with white chocolate rather than dark this time - I must say they went down well and were gone in a flash - fortunately I managed to sneak one before they got seen - yummy indeed.  I also made a rocky road and chicken liver pate - all much appreciated along with the hot dogs, fruit cake and chocolate cake that were among other delectable goodies. X

Looking back to Thursday, I featured a dress I found in the Debenhams/Principes sale - I also found another beauty and just couldn't make up my mind so ended up buying both!  I wore it yesterday at the christening, but had already got some stunning photos taken by Esther to share with you all.

What to wear for a christening service - well I wore something dressy & smart with a summery vibe.

I seem to be either boiling hot or freezing cold - there doesn't seem to be any happy medium with me - is that the menopause treating me this way?  Fortunately I don't seem to have any other symptoms at the moment - let's hope it stays that way.  So with hot weather prevailing over the weekend I knew I would be wearing this beauty for the celebrations on Sunday, with no sleeves that would be cooler - which it was and the thin material meant it wasn't a stifling hot & uncomfortable bundle wrapped up around me.  I felt cool and comfy in this flirty, swishy dress with the gypsy hem.

I've made it no secret I love wearing dresses, and love wrap around styles too - I've got a few to my name and have shared some on the blog already - here's my red spotted frilly, a deck chair look-a-like & my Julia Roberts - Pretty Woman Tan spotted copy.

I like the mis-matched flower size on the dress - it's like pattern matching in a sneaky way, in fact it wasn't until really studying the photos that I realised it!!

It's a faux wrap round, which is perfect for me.  It's fixed in place and doesn't gape open to flash more leg than I want to flash!  I did have to place a pin on the bust line - but that's not a problem for me as I often have to do that.  With a side zip and big wide belt that looked wicked tied on the side in a bow.

I picked nude shoes, but yellow pumps would look super as would flat sandals too.  These are from Dorothy Perkins as were my choice for the christening - these nude studs.

  10. I love this dress on you! The fact that it's a faux wrap is a plus since, as you pointed out, sometimes with the wraps we reveal a bit more of ourselves than we intended to. The yellow floral print is gorgeous and I LOVE those mules with it!
