Morning all.
Hope you're all doing well.
I still haven't managed to sort through my wardrobes yet - I bet it will be Spring before I do it - ha ha ha!
I've had a cheat of a week so far, eating out three times already! Monday we ate at my mum's, Tuesday we were at my daughter's & last night we had a lovely meal out at out local Italian restaurant - let's hope tonight I've not forgotten how to cook - lol.
Seems this time of the year is booking holidays time - we've been planning a week in Abu Dhabi or Dubai, a skiing trip in January and a cheeky weekend in Scotland. It's so nice to have things arranged and in the diary - they seem in the distance when first booked but like everything in my mad life they come around so quickly! Time seems to fly by now I'm over fifty - how about you? I think I'm trying to pack too much in, but you can never have enough of a good thing - right?
So with Scotland booked and skiing being sorted I REALLY need to get my wardrobe sorted. I've bought a few pieces already and want to try having a more stream-lined collection. Here's two of the garments I've already bought. A stripy jumper from Benetton in Rome and these sassy black faux wax jeans.
I picked this jumper because of the stripes they stood out first and then the unusual slash neckline, it's kinda slouchy & reminds me of a painters top, but with a smart feel. Red, mustard and navy can all be worn with this as well as wearing it over casual jeans too. I admit to thinking it was black so paired it with these faux wax jeans, but when I looked more closely I found it to be navy! I think I got away with it though don't you think? I tried the blogger half tuck which didn't look right so ended up fully tucked in, at least the belt could be seen then, although no shots of that!!! Opps. x
Accenting the red with my sling backs worked a treat don't you think?
I've been wanting some either leather look or wax jeans for ages, and have been poking around the stores to find me some. I caught these in F & F and figured I would see what the fit was like (it's right on size) and what they actually looked like on me, I need not have worried because they felt comfortable, and looked banging too! I know they'll be worth the £20 I paid for them as they'll team with plenty I've already got. You'll be bored of seeing these throughout the next few months I'm sure. Lol.
I love my little crossbody bag, had it so long it's just starting to look dodgy around the strap, but there's no way I'm getting rid of this beauty any time soon. It's got plenty of pockets for all my little goodies & the adjustable strap makes it a handy addition for many outfits. This is from T K Maxx, which always has loads of beauties to pick from, and always very reasonable prices.

DeleteJacqui, that outfit is adorable! I definitely thought the stripes were black. So often black and navy are interchangeable anyway! You are such a globe trotter! I love to hear about all your travels. And you're never too old, my friend!
ReplyDeletexx Darlene
Many thanks Darlene, so pleased with it. Such lovely words, so lucky to have such lovely 'friends' on the blog. x
DeleteI love those waxed jeans! I have a couple of pairs and prefer them to blue jeans when I want to look a bit dressier. The striped jumper is fab too! I struggle to tell the difference between black and navy, but if it's a very dark navy it doesn't really matter anyway.
