Black Midi's, Wigs and a Poorly Doggy.

Morning my lovelies.
How you all doing?
Another hectic and rather worrying weekend.  I looked after three of my grand-kids on Saturday, so as you can imagine my house was turned up-side-down with stuff everywhere - food, toys, cups, plates, rubbish, toys, clothes, bags and more toys!  Hubby and I kept asking each other how the hell we managed to bring up five children! and still be sane (well sort of).
We took them to get a few bits from the supermarket, grabbing some sweets and crisps along the way.  Then we went on to a local indoor kids play center, my prince and princess loved it, running off to enjoy every slide, ball park, soft play area, climbing frame and tunnel, my younger grandson also enjoyed the baby area, although kept trying to crawl off chasing stray balls from the ball area!  I had a nice latte coffee as did hubby - although he would have preferred a beer if they sold them!  Coming home we were greeted by an unpleasant puddle from our little dog, who'd not been well for a few days, I ended up taking her to the vets where they checked her over and she was found to have Pancreatitis! A two night stay at the vets ensued which was the best place for her, but I did hate leaving her sorry little face looking at me saying "take me home please" 😢  Hope the outcome of this will be a positive, as I've missed her so much and hate for her to have to go through such an awful ordeal.
Sunday, after a late night at my god-daughter Esther's birthday party on Saturday night was very slow and rather lazy - feeling smug .com for bagging an invitation to middle daughter's house for a roast dinner - really nice not to have to cook, and even better to not have to wash the dishes!  Feeling sad and rather deflated when I returned to an empty house on Sunday evening, resigned to the fact I would hopefully be picking my baby up in the morning and that she'd be spending another night at the vets.  Imagine how happy I felt when the phone rang and the vet said Roxy had much improved so would be better off recuperating at home!  I swiftly jumped in the car to fetch her - delighted with the lively little doggy who met me, quite the opposite to the sad little waif I had dropped off.  (As I type this she's sitting next to me fast asleep) Bliss. 💗

Saturday night as previously mentioned I went to Esther's birthday party, she'd invited a few friends and family round to her family home for drinks and a few nibbles.  Now the only stipulation she made was that we wore wigs!!! Yer wigs!  Here's what hubby and I wore to conform with her request - and what a funny party it was seeing everyone in their jokey wigs.  I'd fancied something elegant and classy - so chose a long blond curly one - well you can see for yourselves firstly I definitely don't do blond - how awful do I look & secondly it was not even worth the £6 I paid for it, ha ha ha!

Can you see we've been photo bombed? My son couldn't resist jumping in on our picture.
Wearing a new dress that I found in the F & F sale, a slinky black midi style that looked very sophisticated.  I'm showing it off in detail on the blog very soon.

  2. I have to say, weird seeing you blonde Jacqui! The first photo I thought it really suited you but the second one clearly shows it's not for you. That's just not our Jacqui.
Glad all is ok with Roxy. I know that feeling when you walk away from the vets empty handed. Nothing worse xx

    1. Yes I know, it's not me at all!!! It just confirms that I've always been happy being a brunette, but have always wanted curly hair. xx Roxy is much more settled, just have to go back for a check-up later - oh and pay the bill!!!!! xx

  3. Oh poor Roxy, it's awful to go through that. My cat had two stints in cat hospital (blocked bladder) and it was awful visiting him each day then leaving without him. Anyway Roxy is looking well rested now.
You're pretty as a blonde, but stunning as a brunette!! Your parents sure gave you super colouring.
And just being picky here but your photobomber isn't wearing a wig!

  4. I thought the blonde wig was cute, but as somebody else mentioned, in the second picture it just isn't you. You're a perfect brunette. Your hubby, on the other hand, reminds me of Jeff Lynne (ELO), so you might want to talk him into keeping it :P Poor little Roxy! It's awful to have a baby away from home in the hospital :( My girl went through something similar but pancreatitis was ruled out and the vet couldn't ever find out what caused it (maybe something she ate out in the yard). Thank goodness that was 5 years ago and it's never happened again. A change to a kitty's diet resolved her illness that was also similar to pancreatitis but determined to be a food allergy (no fever or inflammation). Now, back to the party. I love the idea of having everybody wear wigs and I think it's fun to get to try out a new look, too! And I can't wait to see your feature on the new black dress. Those shoes are gorgeous!

  8. What a fun stipulation for the party! Glad your pup is better now! Anytime we have other kids than ours at our house, the place ends up a mess! But it is fun!
