Hi there, how are you all?
Been a nice couple of days doing not a lot after a busy weekend. Although there's another busy weekend on the horizon for me, so I'm making the most of the quiet, less chaotic time and just relaxing with the dog!
Friday I'm in London with some girl friends for an afternoon tea to celebrate a birthday. I'm really looking forward to spending some time in the capital & hopefully having a bit of retail therapy too! Sunday I'm away for a couple of days with my mum and sister, with mum's birthday whilst we are away so that will be really nice for us to be together. We're going to stay in Rye - a place I've only driven through so It will be nice to see what the place holds for us - lots of lovely restaurants I hope, maybe the odd pub or two as well! 😉
Today's outfit is a more detailed look into the dress I wore for Esther's 'wig' party. Have a look and let me know what you think about this slinky little number and what other ways it could be styled -I've got a few ideas rolling around my head already!
You really can't go wrong with a black dress for any occasion be it dressy or casual - it's what you wear with it that makes it appropriate. Today's black choice has been styled for a lunch date with friends or drinks at a party. By adding heels and beads it's made a classic dress very elegant.
This came from F & F, and is unfortunately now sold out! I picked the bigger size just so it didn't cling - I didn't want something to be too tight & therefore show any bulges. I, as always, pulled on a half slip, but having also got full slips to my name they would have worked a treat too - and an extra layer for keeping warm! It amazes me how many people don't wear slips! I wonder if they look in a mirror at their rears before they leave! Are you a slip wearer, or do you class that as 'old fashioned' lol!
These are the full slips & half slips I like to wear - available in different lengths which is brilliant!
Pairing this midi dress with my delightful Hobbs jacket was an easy choice - it's made this outfit very stylish indeed and adding beads and heels they just about seal the deal.
I've opted for a mix up of beads and pearls, which pair beautifully with my black and nude bag - it's all adding interest to the outfit - making it fun to wear.
Shorts sleeves are a great choice, and the jacket is the extra layer needed for warmth as well as making the outfit not only neat but sing chic too!

ReplyDeleteThanks so much Laurie, have a good week. x

Too kind, thank you so much. x
DeleteJacqui, this dress is so pretty! Every girl needs a collection of little black dresses, in my opinion. I actually don’t have many so I am always up for a new way to style the classic LBD. I love the tweed jacket with it and those shoes are spectacular! I have slips but I only wear them if my dress is transparent. Generally, if I am wearing tights though, I don’t add a slip because the tights cover my underwear!

DeleteYou're right - what you style with your black dress changes the feel! When you said you styled yours with the jacket to go to lunch I thought - totally. I can see that 100%. It's so fun to see how others style their clothes. Guess that's why I'm still in the blogging game. :)
ReplyDeleteGlad you agree with me, many thanks Chrissy. x
