Style Steal - Casual Tiger Print.

Morning my lovelies.
What horrible weather to wake up to!  Windy and rainy, so glad I've not got to go out in it! Hope it will clear by the time I pop to the shops later!
What have you been up to this weekend?  Another whirl-wind for me.  Out dancing on Friday evening, catching up with hubby for a few drinks in the local.  Saturday I collected a few bits to bake for the Christening, then had my nails done in a striking bright red for our friends party that night.
Sunday I managed to get up early (really didn't want to after the copious amount of Prosecco I'd consumed) to bake what I was taking to the Christening.  Didn't seem that much but two hours later I have five platters of Sausage Rolls, Chicken Nuggets, Cocktail Sausages, Pork Pies, Spring Rolls, homemade Rocky Road & Profiteroles.  I hastily got ready in the dress I'd bought to match some elegant shoes I've been sent and will share with you soon, then we were off for the 12.00 Christening.
We had a lovely afternoon celebrating my grandson's special day and came home to a take out curry that I'd been longing for.  Has to be one of my most favourite dishes, but don't seem to have had an Indian for quite a few weeks and really savoured it!  Chicken Patia is my chosen love, what's yours?

So I'm digressing, it's the Third Monday of the month, so after missing last months edition, I best get started on this one.
Welcome to the October Style Steal.

I spotted this style quite a few weeks ago, but didn't manage to get photos taken in time for last month.  Catching up with Esther last week I managed to seal the deal and get these fabulous photos of my steal.  I'm so pleased with the outcome for two reasons, it's a great copy & the dress belongs to my daughter and is an even smaller size than I'm wearing now!  It's so nice to see results of my hard work dieting, knowing your changed eating habits have paid off!

Now have you guessed who I've copied this month, it's quite a popular look so might be quite hard to tell. Let me introduce Ashley - Le Stylo Rouge. She chose to give her cool slip dress the warm up by donning a stylish leather jacket over it - an extra layer will give longevity to a summer outfit and will ease you into the cooler months without totally saying goodbye to summer - albeit on a day like today a pair of boots, roll neck and longer rain jacket would be more fitting!

It wasn't that long ago that I'd not have given this outfit a second look, basically I'd never have ever worn flat shoes, let alone trainers with a dress like this.  The rule book has been thrown out the window and for that I'm really pleased.  We can all wear anything we want, at any age which is even better.  My only rule would be only wear it if it looks good - a short dress with lumpy bumpy legs might not make the cut, but put a thick pair of tights with it & that changes the look completely.  It's nice to be able to play around with things to see what compliments and works well for us individually.

I knew my daughter had this dress on our holiday to Majorca, but wasn't sure I'd squeeze into it.  She wears a smaller size and I was so chuffed to get it on without any problem and even happier that it looked so good.  I've worn my most favoured faux leather jacket that has been on the blog so many times - it's well and truly earned the title and is a valuable previous Christmas present.  Are you a big fan of the faux or real leather jacket?

The dress is that bias-cut, one I didn't think suited my shape but was delightfully surprised and pleased to find it did, it has little shoe string straps and as you can see is the perfect length to wear with my trainers but also can be dressed up with strappy heels and an eye catching necklace for date night dinner.  These are the trainers I took to Rome, and looked equally as cute with the denim shorts I wore.

The tiger stripe is one of many that are in the shops and online in all forms, and it's a great way to add interest to your outfit by adding maybe a scarf or jacket in some sort of animal design to stay on trend.  I've been mixing my prints in basic form by adding the leopard on my trainers - subtle but noticeable ... just!  I'm slowly getting the hang of this don't you think?

The more I see this dress, the more I wished I hadn't given it back!  It should be at the front of my wardrobe with a jumper and boots next to it for another outing don't you think! 🤔

So pleased you stopped by my Style Steal - you can see a couple of my previous steals here & here.

  7. Hey girl HEY! How fun! You recreated this look like a pro! A few years ago, I wouldn't ever have thought to wear sneakers with such a "dressy" dress. And now I live for it! Definitely could swap for a pump if you were going out on the town- it makes the dress so versatile!

    Thanks so much for sharing!
