Summer seems a distant memory now, even though we've had a couple of days with the sun shining, it's still turned really chilly! I've been wearing boots and jumpers and have even pulled on a scarf on a couple of days!
Guess what? I've finally sorted out my wardrobe AND have a big pile of unwanted, over-sized clothes! I need to either get them on Ebay or Depop, or put them in the charity bin - either way they simply won't be going back in my closet! 😉
Last weekend we headed out for my SIL's birthday party. I had bought a new dress (to be shared next week hopefully) to wear and paired the navy blue crepe dress with nude heels. I'm excited to show my new dress, although it's not my usual choice of colour or length for that matter, so will be interested to know what you think!
Sunday, after a long lay-in we popped into town to visit the annual Food Festival. There were plenty of pop-up tents and marquees with mouth-watering food choices. I started with a yummy pulled pork roll (didn't eat the roll) which was filled with pickle and slaw too. Washed this down with a fast zero drink and went on to consume a delicious chicken curry, rice and salad. With my dinner part full and my pudding side empty I opted for a latte - with a shot of Bailey's... well it is almost, nearly, not quite ... Christmas!!! My go-to drink for the festive season. Finally I needed a sugar fix, so devoured a couple of Churros complete with Nutella - well it kinda had to be done.... right!
Today I'm sharing another outfit based around this cute little black top I picked up in Primark a few weeks ago. You can see when I first styled it here with my white Bermuda shorts & long line jacket.
I just love these floral trousers, the fabric is soft to touch and hangs in the right way. The print is noticeable and just right for the new season. The tapered style is very flattering too, and you can see when I wore them with a feminine baby blue jumper and also teamed with this cute patterned top and my versatile blazer.
Having already picked out pale blue accents, I decided to try out black. I'm trying really hard to stay away from black, but felt the bright trousers could cope with the dark addition of my black top, black peplum style jacket and block heels - I've also lifted it with this sparkly blue and white stoned necklace from Happiness Boutique - breaking up the neckline in just the right way.
Finished off my outfit with this over-sized clutch bag - it's a neutral coloured faux suede bag, and ticks many an outfit's boxes - so you might have seen it on the blog before!

Oh we loooove food festivals! We went to one in Hastings in May. And of course to one in the Netherlands. Those trousers look very good on you and I like the black styling!
ReplyDeleteI love those floral trousers, Jacqui! They look great all the different ways you've worn them! The black top is very chic and I love your statement necklace! Hope you're having a great week, Jacqui. Thanks for the linkup! XXX
ReplyDeleteThats such a pretty autumn outfit! It has certainly turned a bit chilly now. Look forward to seeing your new dress next week, love Michelle x
ReplyDeleteThanks for the feature Jacqui. Perfect autumn transitional styling here. Hasn't it got cold quickly? It's so different here in Essex compared to London. I swear the aeroplanes heated everything up! I'm just looking into the Deebop thing too. xx
ReplyDeleteThese pants are so great, Jacqui! I love the black and cream paired with them. And pale blue would look really amazing, too, and would create a completely different look, I think. I have so many clothes that I cleaned out of my closet and I am slowly getting them listed on Poshmark. I want to try to make a little bit of money before I just donate them.

I don't wear a lot of printed pants but I have to say this is a beautiful print. I love how you styled it all with black so it stands out.

Those printed pants are perfection on you!
ReplyDeleteI love the way you have styled those lovely printed pants with that fabulous little black jacket. There is a little foodie market on Newcastle Quayside on a Sunday they have sweet and savoury eats to try. I love going there for a wander.

The print on your trousers is so pretty, and such a great way to transition to fall. Love how you've styled it with darker colors too!
