Hope you're all okay.
Another week has passed since the last #chicandstylish #LINKUP and we're another week nearer to the 'big' day. I'm feeling less worried than usual as I'm sort of sorted, with most of my presents bought and very nearly wrapped as well - how about you?
Today I'm sharing a dress that's been patiently waiting in my wardrobe since the summer. I vaguely liked it on the Asos site when looking for something to wear for June's Style not Age challenge when I chose to wear scorching red as my interpretation of Flaming June! Whilst in the thick of cold, wet and windy weather - a sweltering summer seems a lifetime ago!
But silver lining means the dress I bought that was way to hot then is suitably warm enough to wear now!
I obviously knew I'd be into rusty shades come the Autumn and Winter, so kept the purchase for future wear. Pulling it out the other day I found out it was slightly big and had two whacking great splits up either side. Not sure this will be a favourite in the coming months, and will definitely be needing to add tights to the mixture when I do. The sleeves are long which is a plus - as is the belt - it's only a half belt but cinches the waist in & immediately adds shape to the otherwise box style. I'm liking snakeskin a lot recently and have a super pair of trousers to share with you soon.
These black boots are a new addition to the blog, there're slightly too high to wear everyday, but are making a interesting come-back. Watch this space as they'll be featured again for sure.
I've seen this jacket all the time on my daughter, and felt it rather young for me to wear. When I tried it on & saw the photos I realized how cool it looks - I can see why she likes it so much. The short jacket is a fluffy ball of fringing. Long sleeves and a flattering fit means this jacket is flirty and easy to wear with so much. My daughter wears is casually with jeans or leggings, but I'm happy that wearing it with a dress takes it up a notch for a lunch date or evening at the cinema.

That dress is so cute on you! I love the snakeskin print!
ReplyDeleteOoh that little jacket is so similar to one I wore with jeans in the early 70s, so lovely to see those styles come back. Looks fab dolled up with a dress too, how versatile is that?! I'm sure you could close up your side slits with a couple of quick seams, then it will make you feel more cosy when you wear it with opaques. Now those boots ... what a precious little front nick, I'm sure you can squeeze in a bit of car-to-bar action in those beauts!!
