Hi there,
Sorry to have been AWOL for the last week, I had planned posts to go live, but it seems 'life' got in the way! I figured why stress out over blogging when the family are around and need me more. But I'm looking forward to getting back to what I love doing. I do hope you've all had a wonderful Christmas and are looking forward to a fun and prosperous New year.
So no time like the present to get back to work. Today being the last Monday of the month and year for that matter, the ladies from the Style not Age collective are really pushing the boat out with Emma's challenge of ....
Winter Opulence.

What to wear NYE - Leather Look Matalan Skirt - #chicandstylish #LINKUP
Hello there .... hope you're surviving the Christmas preparations!
All going well with me, so far!
With new year fast approaching I'm thinking about what to wear for the festive night. We are out with friends to a local pub, so it's not really a very 'dressy' night, but you know me always wanting to push the boat out as they say. So here's one possibility of what I might wear.
"She's not wearing a dress" I can hear you say! Well yes I know I tend to wear dresses at every opportunity as they're so bloody easy to wear! But when I was away with my sister last month, she showed me one of her latest buys - this leather look pencil skirt. It's from Matalan and at a snip of a price £16, it has to be the buy of the season. I tried hers on and it fitted! Guess where I went the following week? Yes you guessed right ... Matalan. I figure it can be dressed up or down, here I've picked it up a level for NYE celebrations, but paired with a chunky jumper, thick tights and boots that will change the feel completely - what do you think?

A snakeskin outfit from Outfit.
Hello there my friends.
Another busy weekend, which has been lovely. I went to a 4 year old's birthday party on Friday, taking my grandson with me which was rather special. He's just at that interesting age ... 2 1/2 ... stringing sentences together, quite literally jumping into everything and basically enjoying all he does - when he calls me Nanny he melts my heart. He's a cheeky chappy and I love spending time with him as I do all the gran-kids.
Saturday night hubby and I were out, out for drinks and dinner, it was so nice to catch up with my sister and her husband and we certainly made a night of it - drinking way too much and subsequently having a really slow Sunday morning! We were out for a friends birthday for Sunday lunch, what a delicious roast meal we had at Cafe and Kitchen. Very often roast dinners out are just not like our own home cooked versions, but I can honestly say our meal was every bit as yummy. You can tell I'm on the run up to the big day as my diet has gone out the window - I managed to demolish crayfish cocktail followed by roast turkey, roast potatoes, etc - polished off with plum crumble AND custard - I could hardly move after all I'd consumed and literally wanted to lay down and relax!!! Guess what? I relaxed watching one of my favourite movies ..... Elf, brilliant fun, easy to watch and really one to get you in the festive mood. 🎄🎅🤶
Snakeskin is a neutral trend that's still at the forefront of fashion - complementing many a black outfit as well as loads of other colours (see when I wore a rust snakeskin dress last week). I've got a few other items that work hard in my wardrobe and these shiny drape trousers are proving a welcomed addition too. I'm going to have fun styling these again and again.

Another Rust Dress from Asos - #Chicandstylish #LINKUP
Heya.
Hope you're all okay.
Another week has passed since the last #chicandstylish #LINKUP and we're another week nearer to the 'big' day. I'm feeling less worried than usual as I'm sort of sorted, with most of my presents bought and very nearly wrapped as well - how about you?
Today I'm sharing a dress that's been patiently waiting in my wardrobe since the summer. I vaguely liked it on the Asos site when looking for something to wear for June's Style not Age challenge when I chose to wear scorching red as my interpretation of Flaming June! Whilst in the thick of cold, wet and windy weather - a sweltering summer seems a lifetime ago!
But silver lining means the dress I bought that was way to hot then is suitably warm enough to wear now!
Hope you're all okay.

Another look for my Vionic Trainers.
Hi there!
How's everyone doing?
Are you ready for the big day?
I'm still getting ready, busy buying presents, wrapping and sorting the final bits. I don't have to worry about the menu as we always have the same!
I invariably make a chicken liver pate and smoked salmon pate, which is always loved and devoured by all the family. Without doubt we have turkey, and usually buy two - one for the freezer to have over Easter. We have roast potatoes, a baked red cabbage, plenty of vegetables, stuffing, pigs-in-blankets (both sausage filled and cheese too) Yorkshire puddings & bread sauce .... oh and I dare not forget ... the piece de resistance ... the TURKEY GRAVY!!!
Oh my mouth is watering at the thought, I can't wait!
Okay, okay enough about food - let's talk trainers.
You might remember I featured these last week and promised to share them again styled with my faux wax jeans, well here they are.

Vionic Trainers for Everyday! - #Chicandstylish #LINKUP
Hi there my friends.
Hope you are well well.
It's beginning to look a bit like Christmas in the Mummab household. The tree is up, lights are hung and the presents are being bought as we speak and wrapped by hubby (when I can get him pinned down) - how exciting. Are you ready and waiting, or leaving it to the last possible minute?
I'm not sure if I like this time of year or not! There's always something to do, and my weeks are filled with shopping, wrapping and preparing for Christmas, along with my gym and dance classes fitted around housework and meal prep - I'm missing having time to relax and get things done at MY pace! It will all come to an abrupt stop come 25th December, when everything has to be ready & eating takes over - I've already got my tins of Quality Street, Heroes and Celebrations ready and waiting - lol!!
Today I'd like to share some comfortable trainers with you. When the weather is better placed these are my favourite trainers to wear. They're from a company called Vionic, and I've had the pleasure of wearing some of their footwear in the past which is an absolute joy. You'll be impressed with both these blue espadrilles for hot summer months & my cute kitten heels which are wonderful for nearly all occasions.

OASIS Party Dress Styled Three Ways!
Morning.
Wow how did we get to the last month of the year? It seems like only yesterday I was busy helping plan my daughters wedding! It was a wonderful time, and I enjoyed every minute of it. I've still to do a post on it, but want to get it just right - it's a work-in-progress post!
Well party season is right on us now, and you may have already started your festive celebrations. I have a few occasions to don a sparkly dress and wear some party heels, and am always on the lookout for just the right dress. With a dinner - dance coming up along with a couple of nights out, I was thrilled when Oasis asked me to style an outfit three ways for the festive season and immediately found THE dress that would suit all the occasions I had planned.

Glowing with Lumity -#Chicandstylish #LINKUP
Morning my friends.
I've had a super week, starting with a new keep fit class early on Monday morning, it really set me up for the day. I started the abs, core and more class that was fast and furious getting me running on all cylinders for the day, it's amazing how taking a class like this can make one feel. I was ready to face anything!
Which was just as well, because my next appointment was having my eyebrows semi-permanently tattooed. If you ever thought about having it done I say "go for it" - eyebrows frame the face, and it's the best thing I've done, especially as I don't have many brows to show off. I'm thrilled with the results, and will be showing them off once they're all heeled up.
Straight after that I met up with Esther Ruby for some photos - I've been styling a really stunning gold lurex dress three ways, so please do give me a look on Monday to check the options - you might pick up some inspiration my friends.
With a very basic skin care routine, I've been wanting to branch out in the beauty care area for a while, so when Lumity* asked if I'd be interested in reviewing some products I jumped at the chance. Find out what I thought about their Morning and Night Supplements, Facial Oil and 4 in 1 Cleanser.

Style not Age - Go Back in Fashion.
Morning!
I'm starting to get excited .... it's nearly time to put the decorations up!!!!
The indoor decorations will be going up within the next week or so & the lights outside possibly one night this week. We've trimmed the hawthorn bush and purchased new lights to cover it. It's quite a funny sight when hubby and I put them on, no sorry try and put them on, it's like a Laurel and Hardy sketch! This year he's got an "idea"... watch this space to see if it works!
The last Monday of the month means the latest edition from the ladies of the Style not Age collective.
This month we're re-visiting a theme that I covered a few weeks ago - re-visiting our old clothes!
Hilda was inspired by my post - so set the challenge for us to take up .....
Style not Age go Back in Fashion.
We're showing off our outfits that we've had for over ten years, or even older! Nearly all of us have something that's been loved, kept & worn, or just been reluctant to ditch!
Is there anything you have that's really old? (excluding bodies and hubby's) - lol.

Toasty fingers with Turtle Doves - #Chicandstylish #LINKUP
Morning my friends.
Well hasn't it been cold and wet?
It seems we have one dry day and one wet - I'm thankful that my area hasn't been struck by floods - how awful for the people suffering, my thoughts go out to them!
Are you like me and suffer from cold hands as soon as the weather changes? It seems there's a switch inside me, going from warm hands in the summer months to frosty fingers once the weather changes! Just like that my hands are icy cold most of the time. Well recently something caught my eye when scrolling through Facebook. The lady was showing off Cashmere gloves! I was intrigued as you will be too, so do checkout the post for all the details!

Feeling Fine in a Flippy-Hem Dress!
Hi there.
How are you all doing?
A happy Mummabstylish as this time of the year brings my favourite TV shows - Strictly Come Dancing has been on for a few weeks, but the best show on telly started last night and I'm going to be gripped for the next three weeks - I'm a Celebrity had me on the edge of my seat last night, I'm so looking forward to the next few weeks, glad that I'm in the comfort of my own home!!
I've had another wonderfully busy week. Afternoon tea on Thursday with a couple of good friends enjoying the delights of Sands Hotel. Saturday I had a fabulous evening at Reads with family. Hubby and I enjoyed the company of my mum and uncle along with my sister and brother-in-law. The three course meal was, as usual, superb and the setting was equally sumptuous, with staff to make the evening run as smoothly as possible. Drinks in the sitting room before savouring chicken and prune terrine, roast new season Kentish lamb with caramelised onion, duphine potato, baby spinach with a rosmary jus. I just had to save a little room for the dessert of passion fruit souffle. It's the finishing touches that make all the difference - things like hors d'oeuvre of tiny cheese on dainty toast, anchovy cheese straws, tiny cups of warming soup with mini cheese scones, homemade bread with creamy butter & to finish coffee & HOMEMADE SWEETS - as if I needed any more food!!!
Yesterday I had nearly all the family for a good old fashioned roast beef dinner with all the accompaniments, followed by apple pie and custard - the diet is well and truly out of the window! Lol.
So as you can see I've been so busy enjoying myself - there's been no time to find a suitable candidate for the Style Steal series!
Can I share a little dress with you instead?

Caramel Courts from Lotus Shoes - #chicandstylish #LINKUP
Hi there lovelies.
Hope all is good with you.
I've had a wonderful week with a birthday lunch on Friday with two of my lovely friends and a Sunday roast dinner with the three other couples hubby and I went to Abu Dhabi with. The hosts cooked a marvellous roast beef dinner with all the trimmings, I baked some profiteroles filled with cream and topped with dark chocolate - delish! There was also a fresh trifle and a cheese board full of excellent cheeses, pickles and grapes.
Today I'm also out with friends for two birthday celebrations having afternoon tea in a hotel nearby. I've been to Sands on two previous occasions, and am hoping it lives up to my two experiences with tasty sandwiches, hot scones (with cream and jam - obviously), and there best be a cake or two to devour too!
A busy year for me with a wedding (sorry still not posted about this) and three Christenings. You might have seen my two earlier outfit choices: my turquoise dress with white accessories and this gorgeous pattern mix yellow dress. I stopped by the shops and had a quick 'reccy' before picking this classic dress that has a hint of 70's. It just so happens that it matches a pair of gifted shoes that I chose from the New In styles of Lotus Shoes* ! 😉

Party Shoes to Dance the Night Away!
Morning my friends.
Mummabstylish has been running around in circles and going mad quite frankly!
I've had a problem with the blog and with my lack of IT experience don't have a clue how to fix it!
We're talking 3rd party scripts, forward slashes and non-existent blog posts!! Any help greatly appreciated all you IT wizards out there.
**Late edit - all sorted now thanks to Blogger Help-Desk - phew**
Let's forget about that for now and get back to what I prefer talking about - fashion.
You'll have seen my post last week featuring the dress I borrowed from my daughter - but today I wanted to share more of the outfit with you - namely the sexy shoes!

Second-hand, Borrowed or Vintage - it's the Future! #Chicandstylish #LINKUP
Morning my lovely friends.
How's your week been?
Nice to get away for the weekend isn't it? Well that's just what I did recently with my mum and sister. Mum's choice to head off to Rye in East Sussex for a relaxing couple of days - so barring the walk up hill to the town - opps! it really was. We had rooms for two nights in the River Haven Hotel which served it's purpose with comfortable rooms, decent meals and a bar - what more does a girl need!
We arrived on Sunday and headed up into the town stopping at The Mermaid Inn for a light lunch and welcomed drink. This quaint little hotel is a grade II listed building and boasts 7 ghosts that have been seen throughout the hotel! The building has 600 years of history & has many stories about it's colourful past. We enjoyed hearing all about the smugglers, ghosts and celebrities that frequented the venue - and we were very enchanted to hear that my sister's family were descendants of a particular smuggler and ghost, John Diamond, who was mentioned in their history as being part of the infamous Hawkhurst Gang. We were shown his named room and also the cellar - I have to admit I had goose-bumps whilst the stories were told and the rooms were viewed - I'd love to return and actually stay in the hotel one night - imagine if the ghosts were real!!!!
Sunday evening we stayed put in our hotel, relishing a roast dinner with a couple of drinks in the bar. Feeling the cold we returned to my mum's room with drinks where we chatted more before heading off to bed. The rooms were just right having tea/coffee and TV's in the room - it was rather strange to have the room to myself - let alone the remote control - ha ha!
Monday was my mum's birthday - we had breakfast where she opened her presents & cards, I can't remember the last time we were together in the morning for her special day!
Rye town is full of interesting shops, tea rooms, pubs and restaurants & we also partook in a cream tea and lunch in Haydens a small family-run B&B in the heart of Rye overlooking the town salts. Prevalent in Rye were plenty of charity/thrift shops, they seem to be in abundance in every town and whilst I'm not a huge fan of shopping in them - I do like to borrow clothes from my daughters' - well they borrow mine enough!

Styling Caramel Trousers with Pale Blue & Denim.
Morning my friends.
All good with MummaB & I do hope everything is good with you too!
I've been out for ANOTHER afternoon tea at the weekend. Relishing the delights of the Sands Hotel with friends made for a great Saturday afternoon, not even the dreary pouring rain could spoil the fun for myself and three friends - basically enjoying the company of what we call 'Friday night wives' - just to clarify with you, we're a group of ladies who's husbands get together in the local pub every Friday night! We decided to join forces and enjoy some time together on OUR own. This was the second attempt as many of us couldn't make the last date which ended up being cancelled! However last Saturday four of us were ready, willing and able to have a fun cream tea with a cheeky bottle of fizz to seal the fun! With non-stop rain all day, the only thing I wanted to wear was jeans, boots and a warm and waterproof coat! The outfit I'm sharing with you today is one that I would have preferred to wear for the girly occasion, so as I already had these photos I thought why not share it with you instead!
The outfit is based around the tapered style caramel trousers that I picked up in the F & F Sale - I know they'll just work with loads I already have hanging in my wardrobe (you might have seen my IG stores a while back where I kept finding new pieces to wear with them).

Mr Fogg's Gin Parlour - #chicandstylish #LINKUP
Morning my friends.
How are you this fine morning?
I can't believe it's the last day of October already!
Remember I told you I was having a busy few days? Well if you followed my IG stories you may have seen on Friday I was in London with some girl friends to celebrate one of their birthdays. We caught the train to the capital to have afternoon tea in a pre-booked venue. Said venue was Mr Fogg's Gin Parlour in Covent Garden. We had two lovely hours in the quaint, authentic second floor parlour, being taught how to appreciate gin properly. We had to take a swig and swill it around our mouth for a full minute, after that our mouths felt on fire! This procedure lets the taste buds become fully receptive - boy can you then appreciate the full flavour of the gin - delicious. Dainty sandwiches, cakes and scones with jam and cream followed, all washed down with a really tasty gin & tea cocktail served in a tea pot - very quirky and quite different.
Our afternoon finished and we then moved onto another unusual & sophisticated setting. Archer Street Bar is situated in Soho. It was perfect for entertaining our small group, but also welcomed couples too. The bar serves a wide range of drinks and cocktails with a resident DJ playing hip and trendy music interspersed with spontaneous singing from the bar staff - truly a magical & entertaining evening that I'd thoroughly recommend. I reckon they must be out of work musical actors, who worked their magic for our own personal enjoyment, if you're ever in the capital, do take a look - it's well worth it.
This is taken in Covent Garden, where they have some amazing flower displays that make awesome backdrops.

Style not Age - My Favourite Trend for Autumn ...Rust!
Morning my friends.
Hope you're all good.
I'm actually away with my mum and sister today - so had to plan ahead for this one.
With it being the last Monday of the month the Style not Age ladies are in charge of the post. It's been my choice this month and after a few harder challenges I thought I'd try and make this one a little easier. So my choice for today's endeavor is.....
My Favourite Trend for Autumn .... Rust!
Items marked with * have been gifted to me, however these are 100% my own honest comments.
Once a month Hilda, Anna, Emma and I take turns to style a theme our own way, you can see some of our previous topics here for September, August, July and June.
Hope you're all good.

Slinky Black Midi Dress. #Chicandstylish #LINKUP
Hi there, how are you all?
Been a nice couple of days doing not a lot after a busy weekend. Although there's another busy weekend on the horizon for me, so I'm making the most of the quiet, less chaotic time and just relaxing with the dog!
Friday I'm in London with some girl friends for an afternoon tea to celebrate a birthday. I'm really looking forward to spending some time in the capital & hopefully having a bit of retail therapy too! Sunday I'm away for a couple of days with my mum and sister, with mum's birthday whilst we are away so that will be really nice for us to be together. We're going to stay in Rye - a place I've only driven through so It will be nice to see what the place holds for us - lots of lovely restaurants I hope, maybe the odd pub or two as well! 😉
Today's outfit is a more detailed look into the dress I wore for Esther's 'wig' party. Have a look and let me know what you think about this slinky little number and what other ways it could be styled -I've got a few ideas rolling around my head already!

Style Steal - Casual Tiger Print.
Morning my lovelies.
What horrible weather to wake up to! Windy and rainy, so glad I've not got to go out in it! Hope it will clear by the time I pop to the shops later!
What have you been up to this weekend? Another whirl-wind for me. Out dancing on Friday evening, catching up with hubby for a few drinks in the local. Saturday I collected a few bits to bake for the Christening, then had my nails done in a striking bright red for our friends party that night.
Sunday I managed to get up early (really didn't want to after the copious amount of Prosecco I'd consumed) to bake what I was taking to the Christening. Didn't seem that much but two hours later I have five platters of Sausage Rolls, Chicken Nuggets, Cocktail Sausages, Pork Pies, Spring Rolls, homemade Rocky Road & Profiteroles. I hastily got ready in the dress I'd bought to match some elegant shoes I've been sent and will share with you soon, then we were off for the 12.00 Christening.
We had a lovely afternoon celebrating my grandson's special day and came home to a take out curry that I'd been longing for. Has to be one of my most favourite dishes, but don't seem to have had an Indian for quite a few weeks and really savoured it! Chicken Patia is my chosen love, what's yours?
So I'm digressing, it's the Third Monday of the month, so after missing last months edition, I best get started on this one.
Welcome to the October Style Steal.

Ten things you didn't know about me! #Chicandstylish #LINKUP
Morning my lovely friends.
Hope all is well with you are in blogging land.
I'm feeling a little despondent of late, you know comparing, see what others are doing and wondering why little ol' me should think I can do this blogging lark. I know I shouldn't compare myself to others, but my juggling skills just don't cut the mustard sometimes. I'm trying to complete a marathon on all my social media sites and on the blog - visiting, commenting, and sharing seems to be all I do - but it doesn't seem to make a different, my numbers don't seem to be going anywhere! If you have a secret answer, please pass it on!!!
A little late with posting today, had to rush out and get these photos done last minute, many thanks to my son who I begged to take photos before he went training. Hugs to you darling. x
So my #ootd for getting my fringe trimmed and looking after my grandson is this. It's an old number put together through haste rather then knowing it would work, but I think I've just about managed it!
Do you all know Nancy - Nancy's Fashion Style she blogs about her fashion and lifestyle with many additions peppered throughout her posts. Recently she shared a fabulous one about herself. She told us all about ten things we didn't already know about her. Such an interesting insight into someone so imaginative and likeable.
So today I'm sharing my 'Ten things you don't know about me!'

Black Midi's, Wigs and a Poorly Doggy.
Morning my lovelies.
How you all doing?
Another hectic and rather worrying weekend. I looked after three of my grand-kids on Saturday, so as you can imagine my house was turned up-side-down with stuff everywhere - food, toys, cups, plates, rubbish, toys, clothes, bags and more toys! Hubby and I kept asking each other how the hell we managed to bring up five children! and still be sane (well sort of).
We took them to get a few bits from the supermarket, grabbing some sweets and crisps along the way. Then we went on to a local indoor kids play center, my prince and princess loved it, running off to enjoy every slide, ball park, soft play area, climbing frame and tunnel, my younger grandson also enjoyed the baby area, although kept trying to crawl off chasing stray balls from the ball area! I had a nice latte coffee as did hubby - although he would have preferred a beer if they sold them! Coming home we were greeted by an unpleasant puddle from our little dog, who'd not been well for a few days, I ended up taking her to the vets where they checked her over and she was found to have Pancreatitis! A two night stay at the vets ensued which was the best place for her, but I did hate leaving her sorry little face looking at me saying "take me home please" 😢 Hope the outcome of this will be a positive, as I've missed her so much and hate for her to have to go through such an awful ordeal.
Sunday, after a late night at my god-daughter Esther's birthday party on Saturday night was very slow and rather lazy - feeling smug .com for bagging an invitation to middle daughter's house for a roast dinner - really nice not to have to cook, and even better to not have to wash the dishes! Feeling sad and rather deflated when I returned to an empty house on Sunday evening, resigned to the fact I would hopefully be picking my baby up in the morning and that she'd be spending another night at the vets. Imagine how happy I felt when the phone rang and the vet said Roxy had much improved so would be better off recuperating at home! I swiftly jumped in the car to fetch her - delighted with the lively little doggy who met me, quite the opposite to the sad little waif I had dropped off. (As I type this she's sitting next to me fast asleep) Bliss. 💗

What's the Oldest Thing you Own? - #Chicandstylish #LINKUP
Good morning my lovely friends.
How are you all doing?
I managed a little shopping last Tuesday, and picked up two dresses and a cute and sassy pair of trousers. I'll be showing them in the next few weeks, so do stop back as they're all very stylish.
You might recall me saying I'd sorted some of my clothes, so whilst going through my drawers folding and sorting it occurred to me that one outfit in particular stood out for the fact I've had it so long! Which led me to this blog post .....

LBT, Black Jeans & Shirt Dress with Cerise Pink.
Morning all.
Hope you're all okay.
I've had a quiet weekend. Due to go out with friends but feeling slightly under par I didn't go. Hopefully it can be postponed - afternoon tea would have been right up my street, but fingers crossed I can go another day.
I was going through my jewellery box a few weeks when I was delighted to find the watch hubby bought me quite a few years ago - I'd spotted it in a shop window and recalled in detail just what the striking Dolce and Gabbana timepiece looked like - imagine my surprise when he presented it to me for our anniversary - it's quite noticeable and very unusual. It needed a battery which I'd neglected and then forgotten to get, it's nice to be wearing it again - let me know if it's one you'd wear.
Later today I'm out with Esther taking photos, and I've got some great footwear to share with you along with an interesting pair of hand warmers too! Do look out for them.

The Perfect LBT Again! #Chicandstylish #LINKUP
Hi there my lovelies - how you all doing?
Summer seems a distant memory now, even though we've had a couple of days with the sun shining, it's still turned really chilly! I've been wearing boots and jumpers and have even pulled on a scarf on a couple of days!
Guess what? I've finally sorted out my wardrobe AND have a big pile of unwanted, over-sized clothes! I need to either get them on Ebay or Depop, or put them in the charity bin - either way they simply won't be going back in my closet! 😉
Last weekend we headed out for my SIL's birthday party. I had bought a new dress (to be shared next week hopefully) to wear and paired the navy blue crepe dress with nude heels. I'm excited to show my new dress, although it's not my usual choice of colour or length for that matter, so will be interested to know what you think!
Sunday, after a long lay-in we popped into town to visit the annual Food Festival. There were plenty of pop-up tents and marquees with mouth-watering food choices. I started with a yummy pulled pork roll (didn't eat the roll) which was filled with pickle and slaw too. Washed this down with a fast zero drink and went on to consume a delicious chicken curry, rice and salad. With my dinner part full and my pudding side empty I opted for a latte - with a shot of Bailey's... well it is almost, nearly, not quite ... Christmas!!! My go-to drink for the festive season. Finally I needed a sugar fix, so devoured a couple of Churros complete with Nutella - well it kinda had to be done.... right!
Today I'm sharing another outfit based around this cute little black top I picked up in Primark a few weeks ago. You can see when I first styled it here with my white Bermuda shorts & long line jacket.

Style not Age - Autumn Floral's.
Hello there my lovely friends.
How are you all doing?
It's the last Monday of the month, so that means it's the latest installment from the Style not Age ladies. This month's challenge fell into the hands of Anna - Anna's Island Style, she's given us an easier option than some of our previous topics ....

Benetton Jumper and Faux Wax Jeans - #chicandstylish #LINKUP
Morning all.
Hope you're all doing well.
I still haven't managed to sort through my wardrobes yet - I bet it will be Spring before I do it - ha ha ha!
I've had a cheat of a week so far, eating out three times already! Monday we ate at my mum's, Tuesday we were at my daughter's & last night we had a lovely meal out at out local Italian restaurant - let's hope tonight I've not forgotten how to cook - lol.
Seems this time of the year is booking holidays time - we've been planning a week in Abu Dhabi or Dubai, a skiing trip in January and a cheeky weekend in Scotland. It's so nice to have things arranged and in the diary - they seem in the distance when first booked but like everything in my mad life they come around so quickly! Time seems to fly by now I'm over fifty - how about you? I think I'm trying to pack too much in, but you can never have enough of a good thing - right?
So with Scotland booked and skiing being sorted I REALLY need to get my wardrobe sorted. I've bought a few pieces already and want to try having a more stream-lined collection. Here's two of the garments I've already bought. A stripy jumper from Benetton in Rome and these sassy black faux wax jeans.
Hope you're all doing well.

Rome.
Morning my lovely friends.
How's the over fifties doing? In fact how are you all doing?
You may have seen my IG stories a few days ago and seen I've just come back from Rome. So you might have watched my antics around the beautiful city.
Today I wanted to share the wonderful days I spent there. Four other couples joined hubby and me for our four day escape & we made some excellent memories visiting many of the landmarks and special places Rome has to offer. Today I'll share what we did and what we saw - hope you enjoy joining me.
We booked separate flights, accommodation and transfers, which worked out a better deal for us. Our flights with Easy Jet were as smooth as you like and we arrived after the 2 hour and 5 minute flight full up with breakfast and a cheeky bottle of Prosecco (small one - lol) excited with anticipation of the ensuing days.
Hey! do you spot The Vatican behind me?

Styling a LBT (Top) #chicandstylish #linkup
Morning my friends. Hope you're all well.
I have taken full advantage of the slower week and put some time into the blog - I'd been wanting to catch up after having a full few weeks and a break to Rome.
After catching up with a mountain of washing on Monday, I've been visiting your blogs & checking out what you're all wearing. Similar to me - in as much as looking towards an Autumnal/Fall wardrobe.
This season I plan to go through my clothes and really get rid of stuff I don't really wear and put it in some sort of order again! I'm also planning on creating a capsule type wardrobe, just buying similar colours and shades, therefore enabling me to have a wider choice of what to wear. Let's see if this goes my way and works!!! Lol.
Now I had planned to have a Style Steal ready for you today, but unfortunately I've not had the photos taken, so will put that one on hold for now - sorry my lovelies.
Instead I'd like to share a LBT (little black top) with you. Finding this in Primark a few weeks ago, I thought It would be a nice little addition for Autumn. I liked the non-crease senario - no ironing appeals to me in a big way, how about you?

Dressing for Autumn (& Rome).
Morning my lovely friends. Hope it's been a fabulous weekend for you all.
I'm just back after having a glorious time in Rome - you may have seen my IG stories featuring all the fun!
Travelling out last Wednesday with four other couples was guaranteed to have plenty of laughs and good times, with special memories to be made. That's just what happened in the historic & majestic city. Do stop by to catch the exciting post in the next few weeks, as I'm sharing The Colosseum, The Vatican Museum, Segway tour, Spanish Steps & The Trevi Fountain.
Today is the third Monday of the month, I know can you believe it - I can't hence no Style Steal today - will be trying to re-schedule for Thursday, photographer permitting - lol.
But what I can share with you is one of the little dresses I took to stunning Italy. I found this in T K Maxx a few weeks ago, as it was a cheapie in the sale I didn't hesitate to buy it.

Hi there my lovelies.
How are you.
If all goes to plan, you'll be reading this and I'll be in sunny (hopefully) Rome!
After having my Over fifty health check at the doctors I'm starting to pay more and more attention to my health. So when I was asked to review Liquid Health Joint care from Boots* I jumped at the chance. Whilst I try to keep myself fit and consider I'm at my fittest since my teens, my joints and bones often creak and groan after, and sometimes during, my gym sessions - I feel any sort of intervention is going to be helpful.
As more people are seeking ways to stay active for longer, many are now looking beyond glucosamine capsules, to new joint care ingredients - specifically collagen peptides. The beneficial effect of Peptan (tm) marine collagen on joint health (1) and its ability to aid in the restoration of one mineral density(2) is scientifically proven by a growing body of studies, including a placebo controlled clinical trial.
LQ Liquid Health is a liquid food supplement containing Marine Collagen and Gulcosamine among other ingredients and is scientifically formulated to support healthy joints. You can study all the science here.
Items marked with * have been gifted to me, however these are 100% my own honest comments.

My Busy Week!
Morning lovelies.
Well that week well and truly catapulted me into September! Since the christening on Sunday, my feet don't seem to have touched the ground!
I hope you enjoyed the post sharing what I wore to my grandson's special day at our local church.
Monday was a slow day with a photo session with Esther Ruby, shopping for the event on Wednesday and a test drive with my mum for her new car! With dinner at my daughters in the evening it went by without any hitches and I enjoyed not having to cook dinner or wash up. 😉
Tuesday saw me having a routine blood test after my first over fifty check up followed by my spin class. More food shopping for the next day, finished off with dinner at home and preparations for the buffet I was taking on the boat.
Wednesday was 'race day' - do you recall me telling you my son was competing in the Doggetts coat and Badge sculling race? Well that happened on Wednesday. We left home on a coach at 10 am, ladened with food to fill our hungry supporters! We arrived in plenty of time, so walked to the pier via a coffee shop. Boarding the boat we were all in good spirit, especially after the bar opened. With 100 odd family and friends we were soon under-way, we had to wait at the finish line to keep the waters clear for the four rowers. Hubby was on a boat following and kept me updated as to what was happening - you can see more of the event on my nephew's YouTube site. James managed a very respectable 2nd place, so for only sculling merely 10 months and still going to his shift work job on The River Thames he did an amazing job. I can't put into words how proud I am of him, and although he's upset with not gaining first place he did an outstanding job and should be very satisfied with his noble attempt! Silver lining for us though, we get to do it again next year!
Waking with a slight headache, I didn't get much done on Thursday - you may have gathered that by the short and sweet blog post - you can catch that here. I had a exciting event to attend in the evening and you can read all about it further down.
Friday the usual Spin and Pilates classes then my Friday evening ballroom dancing class finished off my busy week - the weekend has been less manic - leaving me time to tackle the garden hedge and have some 'me' time!

Another day - another Dress!
Hi there.
A busy week for MummaB, and after a busy weekend too I'm starting to think about my trip to Rome for some rest and relaxation. Well I know I wont be resting I'll be sightseeing however I wont be cooking or working so that almost counts as taking it easy - right?
Yesterday I went to my grandson's christening at the local church where daughter and SIL married, followed by a informal gathering at the cricket club for about 80 family and friends. Such a lovely afternoon with the weather playing fair and the children playing even fairer - lol. I made my usual profiterols topped with white chocolate rather than dark this time - I must say they went down well and were gone in a flash - fortunately I managed to sneak one before they got seen - yummy indeed. I also made a rocky road and chicken liver pate - all much appreciated along with the hot dogs, fruit cake and chocolate cake that were among other delectable goodies. X
Looking back to Thursday, I featured a dress I found in the Debenhams/Principes sale - I also found another beauty and just couldn't make up my mind so ended up buying both! I wore it yesterday at the christening, but had already got some stunning photos taken by Esther to share with you all.
What to wear for a christening service - well I wore something dressy & smart with a summery vibe.

Love dressing in a Dress - #Chicandstylish #LINKUP
Good morning!
How are you?
Can't believe this is my last post of August! Where has this month gone, it's flown by so quickly. With the hot weather really getting to me these past few weeks I'm eagerly waiting for the cooler temperatures to arrive - yes I no your telling me to "shut up". There's no rhyme or reason to my body temperature I'm either boiling hot or freezing cold - I just want to be in-between and normal!
I've got a busy week coming up with a Christening on Sunday, photos with Esther on Monday, appointments in the week, a trip to London which I'm really excited about and also on Wednesday my son will be participating in The Worlds Oldest Rowing Race on the River Thames, you might just remember my eldest son competing back in 2016 - you can read about our day out here. It's going to be a busy few days with baking and preparing food for both christening and race, but I'll try to visit your blogs as much as I can.
My son will be team light blue, & we're all be wearing something in that colour to show our support - we have a boat and some 100 odd family and friends joining us for the day - fingers crossed we get the result we want - especially after all his hard work & determination. I've got a couple of ideas what I'm going to wear, but none are dresses. I might end up donning white jeans and the cute baby blue Zara top I shared with you recently. Had it been turquoise I could have worn this beautiful and oh-so-chic dress I bought for a recent christening. I picked up two in the Debenhams/Principles sale, two for the price of one sang in my ears when I took both to the checkout - happy days. **Featuring the second on Monday's post **

Style not Age - Purple Reign!
Good morning my friends.
Hope you're all happy.
Not long now till the schools return, the mornings are cooler, nights draw in and our wardrobe selection changes. The shops are already filling their rails with new season clothes and it will be good to see the warmer pieces and different shades we'll be musing over. Have you purchased anything for Autumn yet? Do spill the beans in the comments section my friends. x
I'm blogging with my three companions from Style Not Age collective today, it's the August installment & our challenge was set by Emma.
Purple Reign.
Her choice whilst initially had me feeling excited though once checking through my wardrobe I realised I had one blouse in my wardrobe that had a hint of purple in it! I've had to start from scratch and find a whole outfit that would work.
I headed over to T K Maxx early Saturday morning and had a rummage around the whole store finding a few pieces that could work, but settled on a smashing purple graphic tee (you might remember I've been wanting more of them after buying this out of office tee and my Zara face).
I also bought a super stretchy dress and some very sassy snakeskin boots as well - well I'm forward thinking for Autumn - and this post, so that's my story and I'm sticking to it!

Lalage Beaumont - #Chicandstylish #LINKUP
Morning all, I do hope it's a good one for you all including all you over fifties out there.
What you got planned for the end of the week? Today I'm so excited to be having a spa day with two friends - it's for my birthday (back in May) so will be a real treat. I'm looking forward to a day of R & R, catching up with friends and a super lunch in the delicious country house.
A bit late in the season, but I picked up a neat pair of tailored Bermuda shorts in my local F & F recently, I figured they'd be a worthy edition to my wardrobe, and being white will be a useful piece for the next few years. If the weather is dry, but cooler come the next few months I'll pair them with a thick top or jumper. I may even try wearing boots with them too, so stay tuned for that one!
Anyway last week I decided to slowly blend Summer with Autumn mixing white with rust - namely my long sleeve frilly blouse I bought on my last visit to Venice.
I'm also styling the tan cross-body bag I returned with, my bags play host to the usual bits and bobs - phone, lippy, tissues and purse, however when I'm sporting a smaller more compact bag I often just take my bank cards and a small amount of change instead of my purse. That's when this sleek little credit card holder from Lalage Beaumont came up trumps.

Dressing like a Deck Chair! Style Steal.
Morning all.
How are you lovely lot?
All good here, just wishing the weather was a bit nicer for us, it's making me think about Autumn clothes and I really don't want to be thinking about that yet! But what I am thinking about is how the hell I can do a Style Steal without a steal? Well technically that's wrong because I do have a steal - I just don't have a photo of the steal!!
Confused? Read on my friends.
I'm a huge fan of Instagram (catch my stories here), scrolling through looking for ideas, commenting on lovely outfits, make-up designs and beautiful destinations. Whilst looking through some time ago I spotted a gorgeous lady wearing a really interesting dress. I liked and commented and that was as far as I got. Imagine finding the dress in my local H & M - in the sale for like £8 I jumped on it, not really knowing if the strange-but-exciting style would suit me. Well you can let me know what you think, but I'm rather taken with the 'deck chair' pattern and unusual design.

Black and White from Roman Originals - #Chicandstylish #LINKUP
Hi there my friends, how's over 50 blogging land?
How have we arrived at Thursday Already! The days seem to be going by so quickly! August has been a busy month for me, with plenty of birthdays, appointments and happenings filling my time. We have a family gathering on Saturday which I'm really looking forward to, I have a couple of things to prepare and bake, but with everyone bringing something with them it makes it so much easier because it's not just down to one person to do the catering. Fingers crossed for good weather, but I fear it may be a wet day with everyone indoors!!
Does anyone else love to have their other half pick something they like for you to wear? I adore when I shop with my hubby and he points to a piece he likes. We seem to have slightly different taste when it comes to what I wear but whenever I put on what he chooses I like it! That's just what happened when we went to our local outlet just before our recent holiday to Majorca. Hubby wanted to get some shorts from the Ralph Lauren shop and I just had to partake in a little peruse of the Roman Originals store - like you do!
I needed another one-piece to take away on my trip, so when he pointed to this black and white shirt dress I just had to try it on. Here's the exact dress if you're taken by it like me!
Roman Originals have a big collection of dresses, skirts, tops, trousers and jackets and I always find at least three of four pieces that I love. I wouldn't say I'd pick the shirt dress immediately, but willingly tried it on to find I loved it.

Floral Trousers with a new purchase from Zara.
Hi there - thank for stopping by this morning.
My weekend has been a rather quiet and relaxing affair, with heavy winds ruling the play on Saturday I failed to get the grass mowed or the hedge cut with my new trimmer. I did have a nail appointment which was probably the most exciting thing to happen! I received some tongs from Hot Tongs in the post and managed to have a practice curling my hair. Without using any product along with the windy weather it didn't last too long! I may even try to do a blog post about them, but will see how I get on with them first.
As the weather has taken a change for the worse it's made me think of my Autumnal wardrobe, so today's outfit is one that will definitely be worn come the next few months when it's going to be cooler.
You might remember I wore these floral trousers earlier on this year when it was much colder here.
I've got my share of jackets hanging in my wardrobe, and this long line blazer was picked up in the Wallis sale earlier this year. I know it's boring beige, but feel it will go with so many of my outfits and give them longevity into the cooler months. How cute is this similar version from Marks and Spencer?

Lotus Sandals with Bright F & F Jumpsuit - #chicandstylish #linkup
Morning lovelies.
Hope you're all well.
With it being 8th August already I thought I should get this post, featuring my latest jumpsuit out before the weather changes and the Autumnal transitional period begins - although fingers crossed there'll be an Indian summer on the cards for us in the UK!
I picked this bright floral number up in my local F & F, needing an extra item to take on holiday. This one ticked all the right boxes for style, colour and length - it's just got me written all over it!
So it was a real bonus when I realized my latest heeled sandals from Lotus Shoes complimented it perfectly!

My Striking Necklace by Eternal Collection.
Morning all - how's everyone doing?
What did you get up to at the weekend?
Saturday, among other things, I looked after my grand-daughter and grand-son whilst my daughter took her young 2 year old to the barbers. Him not being a big fan of having a hair cut, he ... how shall I put it ... screams the place down, and fights to get outta the chair! So she has to bribe him, hold him, and try to calm him down so he can have it done - anyone else have that problem? However on this occasion he was on his best behaviour & his long locks were trimmed in no time. She returned to mine to spend the rest of the day with us before leaving with only two kids as princess was mine for the night - yes she was on a 'sleepover' with nanny and grandad. 😍 We all managed to stay awake until 9.30 when we all went to bed! Rock and roll eh?
Sunday morning I was wide awake at 7.00am .... no I was fast asleep and didn't really want to get up! Regardless - princess & I got up and had breakfast excited to get ready for a family bbq. I shopped for the ingredients for Vanilla Cheescake and Profiterols along with meat (way too much as usual). Another fabulous day with nearly all the family, aren't they the best times! What did you do at the weekend? Do let me know in the comments box, love to hear from you.

Style not Age - Steal her Style.
Hi there.
How you all doing?
Another whirlwind weekend for Mummab with a beach day after the gym on Friday, followed by my weekly Ballroom dancing class in which we finished off our Waltz - a magical dance that makes me imagine I'm Ginger Rogers in a wonderfully elegant ostrich-feather covered ballgown. Oh I can dream can't I? Saturday, after making two dozen chocolate eclairs for my mum (church hall fund afternoon tea) I returned home to prepare for my youngest daughters' birthday gathering. I only had to make a couple of dishes so It didn't take long. I then enjoyed the evening celebrating with family, friends and all of her friends too! Yes that was a late night, so the morning arrived way too early! We eventually got sorted for a big family birthday breakfast, all the children were there except my youngest son who was at work. Lazy Sunday afternoon - with a cheeky curry to complete a busy, but exciting weekend. X
Welcome my friends - today you've arrived at the latest challenge for the Style not Age collective.
This has landed in the hands of Hilda, she's taken on a challenge that I usually set myself each month - to see if she can nail it herself. I'm feeling quite happy about this task as I'm very familiar with it, so let's see how it goes and how my friends tackle it!

A dress For All Seasons - #Chicandstylish #linkup
Morning, thanks for joining me today.
Hope you'll be adding to the #Chicandstylish #LINKUP my friends.
Well it seems all the holiday weather has come at the same time! I really feel like I want to be on holiday - you know when all your want to wear are flat sandals, shorts, thin strap tee shirts/cool dresses and drag your hair in a top knot all sans makeup!!! Yep that's been me for the past few days - I certainly look a picture. 😒
Fortunately, last week Esther Ruby & I had a day taking photos when it was a tad cooler, so I might not have to struggle in the heat to get some more that I need, that's unless we get lucky and the hot weather decides to stay!
Here's the other dress I bought in H & M last week. I picked this up in the sale, but after donning it last week and again the next day I can confirm I would have bought this even if it hadn't been in the sale.
What are your thoughts on my latest addition? I'm thinking ahead to wearing it not only in Autumn, but in Winter too. Layering, boots and chunky knitwear come to my mind.

Lotus Sandals and H & M Sun Dress.
Hi all.
Thanks for stopping by my little blog today.
My blog is aimed at ladies over 50, however I love to have all age groups stop by and join me.
Come on over - you're all welcome. *waves welcoming hand*
With the summer weather more or less playing nicely lately, I thought it would be a good idea to share a sunny beach dress with you. You all know I love wearing dresses as they are so easy to wear. There's no matching separates to contend with, the hardest thing is matching accessories. Here's where my recent acquisition from Lotus Shoes came up trumps!
Items marked with * have been gifted to me, however these are 100% my own honest comments.

A dress that works in my 40's and 50's! #chicandstylish #linkup
Happy Thursday my friends.
How are you all - is Over 50's blogging land good for you this week?
I've been having a really good one so far, with one evening out for our anniversary meal (see more below) and another with some of the children round for dinner. With a quiet weekend to look forward to I hope the weather stays nice and warm so I can enjoy the garden.
Last Friday hubby and I celebrated our 33rd wedding anniversary. We left booking a table until the last minute so were unable to get booked at our favourite restaurant. We toyed with the idea of going somewhere else but both had our hearts set on Read's so decided to book for last Tuesday. We had a lovely evening anyway with him going to the pub with the boys and me going ballroom dancing with my bestie! We did meet for drinks after so it was all in all it was a great evening.
When you see our meals you'll understand why we waited to go there and not 'make do' with somewhere less exciting for a special occasion!

Citrus summer outfit - Style Steal
Morning my lovely friends.
Hope you've had a super weekend and are looking forward to the forthcoming week.
Another busy weekend for Mumma B. Starting with Friday my wedding anniversary. Thirty three years married to my soul mate. We normally celebrate with a meal in our favourite restaurant, but sadly we weren't able to get a reservation, so not wanting to go anywhere different we decided to book for next week and do what we normally do - hubby went to the pub and I went ballroom dancing. Romantic eh? We did meet for a drink afterwards which was still lovely.
Saturday the usual cutting grass, food shop and housework followed by an evening with my girls as the fellas we out for a drink in town.
Sunday was wonderful, a lazy morning making way for birthday celebrations for a good friends birthday. BBQ weather, so relaxing in the eclectic garden with old and new friends was good. The Greek meat was cooked on a spit with various Greek salads adding variety to the tasty meal. There was pavlova and cupcakes for desert along with a few glasses of Prosecco to wash it down. There was even time for a little boogie before cabs were called!
This month's Style Steal is due today. I fancied copying this one for a while. I knew I had the same clothes already - so it wasn't a hard one at all. Can you guess who my copy is from?
