Morning my friends.
How is blogging land going?
With half term this week my ballet class isn't on, so along with the fact that my spin classes have been stopped due to the room being refurbished (that's another story) I've enjoyed being a little more relaxed and have spent more time indoors - which is just as well as the weather has been atrocious! I've been blown into the middle of next week when venturing out and my hair has looked, how shall I put it .... like I've been pulled through the hedge backwards. 🤣 Now with weather playing 'unfairly' I've been pushed into a corner and had to wear sensible jeans and boots, but literally can't wait to start wearing more 'season appropriate' clothes like my new culottes I recently found. I have been a huge fan of them, but since losing weight mine are too big so have been looking for replacements. Over the winter I have tried to stick to a neutral colour palette wearing rust, tan and blue among other shades, so felt a change was needed. I spotted these grey culottes in Primark so popped them into my bag knowing I had a few options to play with at home.
Here's the first .... grey with pink. 💟
My boots were the first in line but I really need to get them re-healed. They were from Primark a few years ago, but have earned their keep as I've worn them so much. Here's a similar replacement I might get instead of getting the heels done.
Now about these culottes, I wasn't sure at first because they have an elasticated waist! I figured it didn't matter and might actually be more comfortable, so I've worn them with the top tucked it and slightly bagged over - that way you can't really see the waistband at all. It was so much easier to put on, no zips, belts or buttons to content with! - does that mean I'm getting old??? Lol. You can see they have a thin white check running through them, it's a nice way to add interest to something. I've added texture with my velvet top too. Short sleeves most definitely for warmer weather, but my coat alleviated that chilly problem last week on the sunny morning we took photos.
The neck chain belongs to Emily, but as she's left it in her room I used it and might just slip it onto my necklace hook - well possession is nine-tenths of the law! But in-case she wants it back this is a fabulous copy. x
I find culottes quite flattering for my pear shape body, the extra width at the hem balances out the look, so long as I'm wearing a more fitted top. These have nice wide pleats either side, with a crisp crease down the center. The only down-side to my trousers is they have no pockets - obviously the result of them only costing £13 - I'll take that though.
This is a versatile little coat. A pretty pink boucle number that came from Matalan quite a while ago. It's a nice addition and flatters many outfits both in Spring and Summer - this has big patch pockets on both sides which is okay for a tissue of phone, but anything bigger leaves them bulging out!
You might like this raglan sleeve overcoat that I found.

DeleteI love your gray and pink look—that's one of my favorite color combinations! And as for blogging land, my external hard drive failed this week and I had to order a new one. Oh, mercury in retrograde!
ReplyDeleteCheryl Shops | www.cherylshops.net
Thank you so much Cheryl. Glad you like it like I do. Oh that's a nuisance, I hate when things like that happen! Hope it's all okay now. x
DeleteI love gray and pink together and I love the pieces you've used to do it. It's such a classy look! I have some wide-legged pants (kinda palazzo-style) that are just a teeny bit too short to look great with anything and I'm getting ready to lop just a bit more off so they'll look like culottes. Now I think I'm going to just take them up a little because I love your look with the ankle boots. And the velvet top is wonderful! I have no velvet in my closet and I'm thinking that's something I need to keep an eye out for. The pink ankle boots are gorgeous and I think I'd spend a bit to fix them up. And that jacket is perfect!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the link-up!

ReplyDeleteHa, ha - I can imagine,as I said to Ruth, the length can really make a difference to the look. Good luck in your quest Anna. x Thanks for stopping by. x
DeleteI love soft pink and grey together. The velvety texture of your top is gorgeous. I'm sick of this crappy weather too and can't wait for milder temps and sunshine! Thanks for linking up!
