Floral Dresses for Spring & Summer.

Hi there.
How are you?
I'm feeling very sad and rather miffed to say the least!  You see I found out yesterday that the ski slopes across France are closed - yes CLOSED so no skiing next weekend for me!!!  I'm so upset I'll be missing out because of this bloody annoying Coronavirus. So no cheeky weekend for me 😠 you can see last years venture here, I'll have to live on those memories for the foreseeable future eh!
This virus has really turned our lives up-side-down from cancelled holidays to empty shelves in the shops the likes of which most of us have ever seen before.  Last week I tried to book my usual online home shopping delivery.  Every week I complete my shopping on a Friday evening to have it delivered sometime to suit on Saturday - none were available for Saturday, Sunday or Monday not even the click and collect were available!!! WTF!!  I actually had to go into store on Sunday to shop which, to add insult to injury, made me spend much more than normal (mainly due to pondering too long in the drinks aisle) lol.  Not only am I not going skiing it looks very dubious whether my trip to Scotland and the Hen weekend to Majorca will take place either - uncertainty makes it ten times worse!  Have you been affected by this dam virus?

One thing I am certain about is my love for Spring wear!  I adore wearing lighter garments in the warmer months and my wardrobe reflects it, so having that to look forward to makes my lack of winter fun a bit more acceptable.  So let's take a look at what makes Spring fashion great.
I picked the dress from a selection in Primark.  They always have super styles available in store which are great copies, but at a snip of the price.

Midi dresses are probably the most flattering for many shapes.  I prefer to wear longer styles and feel elegant when I do.  Florals also play an important part for any season, so my dress will be well received in the coming months.

Adding my beige blazer lifted the outfit making it suitable for a lunch or dinner date, but swapping blazer for a jumper or cardigan switches the sleek outfit into a casual classic.  Bonus of this blazer is the length, it's just a flattering finish for me, covering my least liked bits!  I happily wear it over jeans too.

My dress is scoring high in the fashion stakes, ticking all the right boxes for style and design.  It has 3/4 length sleeves that have an elasticated hem.  A sweet little 'V' neck line that has ruffles running to the side seams.  It's a bias cut that has a nice little fluted hem sitting mid-calf.  The half belt ties at the back creating a perfect silhouette.  The black background is scattered with beige, blush and white flowers with sage leaves peppered through it too.  Any one of these shades can be used to compliment the dress.  I chose neutral mules to bring everything together.  I can't wait to wear these again as I love the woven texture of these stylish shoes.

Great to have you stop by today, please leave me a little comment to cheer me up!  I'm feeling pretty awful that I'm missing my skiing trip. X
Esther Ruby kindly took these photos for me - hugs to you (or is it elbow nudges now??)
Bye for now. X

  1. I really like your floral midi. (I'm wearing a floral midi skirt today on the blog!) I know what you mean about the virus. I'm kind of glad you're expressing frustration, as everyone else seems to be trying to keep a positive spin on things. It's ticking me off, too! Stay well!

  4. I am so sorry that your cheeky ski tripped was canceled. But I suppose everyone is in the same boat now. I am loving this dress and I do adore the look of a blazer paired with a dress. I need to try this styling one of these days. And those shoes are fabulous! Thanks for linking up with me, Jacqui! Stay safe and healthy and sane.

  5. What a great dress! It's so pretty on you and perfect for spring! :) It's a shame that your plans have been changed with the virus - we have had all the kids sport and events cancelled, we aren't meeting for church any more...but hopefully us staying home makes it less likely we will infect others!

Hope that you had a good weekend. We celebrated my son's birthday at home, with no guests, instead of the big party we had planned in the park, but he still had a good day :)

Thanks so much for joining the #WeekdayWearLinkup! A new link up is live on my blog now, I'd love you to join again.
