I've been having some real moments lately, wondering just what's happening! I feel a bit 'lost' not really knowing what I should be doing. Should I be blogging, should I be devoting my time to my family, should I be panicking or acting normal. I've decided to try and work some routine back into my life. With my daughter and her family living with us it's such a different world for me without the dreaded 'c' word joining in! So by the beginning of next week I hope to have planned my days to establish some sort of routine - starting with exercise of some sort.
It's been so nice to see some of your blogs over the past couple of days, some of you are sharing your views on the Coronavirus, others have decided to omit any reference to the dreaded word. I've toyed with the idea of reducing posting to once a week, but really don't want to resort to that just yet! I'll carry on as I normally write, mentioning when I feel it's fitting.
I'm hoping my daughter will be able to take some photos for me as understandably Esther won't be able to. So please stand by for some possible photo-bombing from the grand-kids at some time! Lol.
Today I thought I'd share a fun outfit that I'd don in an instant for a Spring day out ... well out anywhere would be nice really!!!
The black edging really takes it up a notch and makes this exquisite jacket a timeless classic.
Looking back on the photos it's hard to believe how the situation has changed over the past few weeks. But as I keep saying to myself and anyone else I talk to "nothing lasts forever" this will pass. I wish things lasted eternally because I'd love my skiing holidays to last forever, alas they don't!!!!
But let's not dwell on that, shall I share the details of my outfit that comprises of items you've already seen on the blog at some time or other?
The grey trousers are a valued addition and make for many fabulous outfits. I've already worn them with pale pink last year & also with a paisley blouse and aztec jacket.
Here I've taken another route by pairing with my Chanel style Hobbs jacket. It has flecks of orange, cream and black threads through it, so I picked out a bright and cheery coral top to add a flamboyant twist. The black edging really takes it up a notch and makes this exquisite jacket a timeless classic.
I always love wearing palazzo style trousers and feel great when I wear these. I find them flattering for my body shape - pear - with a great fit on the waist, smooth lines down the leg and an elegant hang over a stylish heeled shoe.
Do let me know your thoughts on today's outfit, is it one you'd wear or would you style any of the pieces another way - do tell!!!
Have just spotted my beautifully painted nails in this photo! I wonder when I'll be able to have my nails manicured again? For that matter my eyelashes applied, hair cut and coloured and let's not even mention my waxing!!! 🤣🤣 Oh crickey!!!!

ReplyDeleteOn a brighter note Jacqui, this is the time to do exactly just what you feel like doing! Make sure to set some "you" time aside. xx
ReplyDeleteJacqui, this is such a pretty outfit. Very classic and very flattering on you. I am finding much peace in giving up the things which I cannot control to my higher power. It helps so much when it comes to easing stress and anxiety. I am just embracing the new normal and continue doing my thing. Keep wearing the cute clothes and photographing them and sharing them if that brings you joy...which it obviously brings many of us joy or we wouldn’t have ventured into fashion blogging in the first place. I am grateful that we have blogging and a wonderful loving supportive community to continue sharing what we love through this trying time. Hang in there, my friend. This will pass or we will just adapt to a new way. Human beings survive a great many crazy things and continue on...sending your virtual hugs and lots of positive energy!

I am really not sure what is the best to do either, Jacqui. I keep leaving my blog but then going back to it as it takes my minds off things. Keep safe lovely. Great outfit and photos :)
ReplyDeleteI think the best way to deal with this pandemic is to try to maintain some type of routine and feel as normal as possible. For me it's the only way, I hope you enjoy having your daughter and the grands around and that keeps things light. We just have to get through this!

Love the coral and grey together. Lise
ReplyDeleteI love the colour of your top and that gorgeous jacket! I think we should try and carry on as normal and keep a routine. My life isn't that much different as I am often at home anyway, I just have the family working from home too (which is very stressful at times) but I escape for a walk! I do hope it doesn't go on too long though xx
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad your family is with you! I think finding a new routine that works is the best way to get through this. Love this look! Your photos are beautiful!

This is a very nice spring office look. Great photos and background. Well done. Must be before the lockdown.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful outfit Jacqui! I know it is hard to know how to be sometimes! We have been just taking daily walks with the pups, a bit longer just to get the fresh air! Love your outfit, very chic and I love a tailored look. The edging on the jacket is beautiuful!
ReplyDeletetake care my friend!

Very classic: I really do love palazzo pants on you! I think it will be nice to have your family with you. My husband usually travels out of town 4 days a week, so working from home has been an adjustment for both of us. I have to cook real meals every night now lol!

I am sticking with my regular routine, getting up at the same time and heading to my at home office for my IRL job. II thought I would get more blog stuff done without my daily commute but not so far. I am still only week two though. I think staying as close to normal as possible is key to maintaining sanity
ReplyDeleteI love the classic style of your jacket. It would look cute over a simple sheath dress--black, of course, but maybe even hot pink or yellow! It's definitely an odd time and I struggle with what to write about, too. But trying to keep thing as "normal" as possible seems like a good idea. Take care, Jacqui.

This is definitely one of the most bizarre things I've lived through, but all you can do it take it day by day and try to keep things as normal as possible. Hang in there!

The coral top just makes the outfit - I love orange with this lilac grey colour. The pants are insanely great on you, Jacquie!
ReplyDeleteI love that pretty jacket on you!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful jacket, it's such a great statement piece! :)
ReplyDeleteFor me, I've always mostly taken photos myself in the back yard before we go out for the day - sometimes I've got my kids to get a pic while we are out, but it's mostly in my backyard, so I am still keeping up with blogging. I have reduced the amount of posts I'm doing though as I'm getting dressed less - Coops is older and still just a tiny Shih Tzu so he doesn't need walked much, and I can't walk the Collie with my sore knee as she pulls on the leash and it hurts so much. With less dog walking and working from home and no school run, I'm only getting dressed a couple times a week! I might change that if things go on longer though but who knows!
Thanks for the link up!
Hope that your week is going well :) We are all staying home and staying safe.

Love your outfit, Jacqui. It's truly very difficult and confusing times, nobody knows what is write and what is wrong so we are all trying out best. The pants are so chic and look lovely with crisp cut jacket
ReplyDeletehttps://lookingfabulousat50.blogspot.com/
I love this elegant look Jacqui! The jacket is tres chic and works perfectly over those stylish trousers. I'd wear this too and fancy that I have a similar jacket somewhere stashed away. I'll be doing my spring changeover sometime this month and goodness, how lovely it'll be to not have to do this at breakneck speed.
ReplyDeleteTake care xxx
The boucle jacket is to die for - I was reading in the Times this week how they are the current "big thing"! Have a good weekend, enjoy the grandkids!
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely photos Jacqui. I love your Chanel-inspired jacket. The pops of orange really make the outfit sing. I know what you mean about not knowing what to do during this time. Like you, I have tried to structure my days.
ReplyDeleteTake care and look after yourself- enjoy having your grandchildren there. Lots of love xxx
Love this chic blazer! I adore the contrast of the top with it!

I feel like now really is the time for us to treat ourselves to some gorgeous clothes to lounge around in - and this post really encapsulates the self-isolation-yet-still-chic vibe I'm really going for!
ReplyDeleteI hope you're staying safe during this quarantine!

Everything is definitely upside down right now, Jacqui. I think you just do at this point what makes you happy and feels right for you. I got a to-go mango margarita last night, which was something new to me, and I liked it :P My husband and I are still going in to our workplaces but I do intend to take a day off here and there since business has slowed a bit. I plan to do some blogging and some organizing and whatever else I feel like. And YouTube can be a great way to learn how to do some of these things we rely on others to do for us. Fortunately I don't go to the salon much (or unfortunately) to have nails done and I trim and color my own hair for a year or two and then go in and have my hairdresser fix it all. I know. Now, about your look - I would totally wear it! That top is one of my two favorite colors to wear and what a great jacket! You're right - the black trim takes it from normal to stunning. And the pants are perfect in color and their lines. I'd love to find some tall palazzo or wide-legged pants. Thank you so much for the linkup - I'm glad that hasn't changed - and hang in there. This too shall pass.
