Hi there my lovelies.
Are you all well, staying sane and keeping busy?
It's at times like these when learning something new is the ideal thing to do. You can learn languages, learn how to cook, keep fit, improve your makeup or hair styling skills. My daughter has started to learn sign language which she's picking up really well. I prefer to stay in the garden, but it's a shame the garden nurseries aren't open though - my garden would look a picture! That being said I'm currently watching Beauty & The Beast with the grand-kids because it's pouring with rain!!!
Have you tried anything new during lock-down? Do share we all want to hear about it.
Sunday was more like a normal day, with a lovely roast dinner for some of the family, lamb was the choice and we all tucked into roast potatoes and all the trimmings. I even managed to bake a fruit cake too. For a first attempt it wasn't too bad, I'm going to look for another recipe though as it wasn't quite what I wanted - a bit dry and needed more fruit.
The family have also started doing lots of quizzes since lock-down, so Sunday evening was spent getting together via computer to take part in one set by my son and daughter. Hubby and I won by four points, & we were chuffed with that outcome - we may have to set the next one, so i'm getting my thinking cap on!
I've had a bit more time to read your blogs, and have found an excellent copy for my struggling Style Steal series. Can you guess who I've stolen this outfit from?
Like everyone else I'm having to shop my wardrobe for the time being, not that I need any new clothes really because so many of my additions of late haven't reached their full potential and are still like new. This dress is no different and I've hardly worn it since showcasing it back in October for the Style not Age challenge My Favourite Trend For Autumn is .... Rust.
The slinky dress still looks as good as new & worked a treat for this month's Style Steal. I just paired it with my jean jacket and a large leopard print scarf to re-create the steal.
Have you realised who my copy if from? Yes it's Jess - Elegantly Dressed and Stylish
I actually ended up wearing this dress all day after taking photos and it felt really nice to be dressed up for a change. My grand-daughter was very happy too! She loves wearing skirts and dresses and always picks the same for me to wear daily. I mostly decline and opt for comfy jeans, so you can imagine her delight to have me wearing this dress!
The Big tan bag was a good copy too. I picked tan shoe-boots to complete my steal, but these are looking rather worn now, so I shall be looking to re-place them this year - that's when I can get out to buy and wear them!!!
Would you like to check out some previous steal's?
Here's a link to view them. Wearing grey with mustard, in a leopard print skirt, a dress of tiger print & styling army green with yellow.
Many thanks for joining me today.
Thanks to my eldest daughter for taking today's photos. X
Much appreciate your support.
Catch you again on Thursday for the brand new #chicandstylish #LINKUP.
Bye for today. X
That s a great look! Love Jess s style! I almost always wear a Leopard scarf with my denim jacket. Funny hey. I made a very easy dessert, wipped cream, Passion fruit and merinque. Mix it, freeze it and slice it! Delicious!

ReplyDeleteLove this style steal of Jess's - the rust is one of her key colours isn't it? That dress looks so comfy and perfect for just mooching around at home.

You both look great in rust and it's wonderful you had so many pieces in your wardrobe to be able to recreate this outfit so well! :)
ReplyDeleteI haven't done many new things in home isolation - I find that trying to help the boys with online learning is enough of a challenge to master, haha! I am enjoying it over the first weeks when I was trying to come up with educational things for them to do though!
Thanks so much for joining the #WeekdayWearLinkup!
Hope your week is off to a good start :)
