Morning my lovely friends.
All good here in the Mummab household, the first stint of birthdays have been and the next are just around the corner - mine included, although I'm sure it will be a very different celebration than normal!
You might have seen my new series last month - my March Review re-visited some of the previous months posts and today I'm sharing the second one - my April Review.
April was a mixed bag really, some of my photos were taken prior to lock-down and the others were taken by my daughters. I'm so lucky to have my eldest daughter and her family staying with me, but admit to having a VERY busy house so blogging has taken a bit of a back seat if I'm honest.
The latter part of the month I've been sharing more laid-back styles, but at the beginning of the month I was showing off a stunning dress I picked up in our local Debenhams closing down sale. It's a stylish and fancy black lace dress with rivets and gold rings, but I think I'll let the dress speak for it's self.
At the beginning of the month I thought my Spring outfits would be making a big impact on the following sunny days, but lock-down had other ideas. I've been forced into gym gear, lounge wear and basic jeans with tee's. Now the following outfit was shopped from my wardrobe, nothing new here and all seen styled previously with other pieces. I'm a big fan of palazzo trousers & my grey pair look fabulous worn with the bright coral blouse with my Chanel style jacket being the finishing touch it needed.
Mid April found me in the comfort zone of jersey trousers, velour top and jean shirt. I'd usually be reaching for heels with the floral pants (seen here with a black top & jacket and also with a pale blue beauty) I wore this to deliver some essential bits to my daughter - she suffers from asthma so therefore is self isolating - meaning I only get to see her through the window. 😔
Now I did end up wearing the next outfit for the whole of the day after taking photos. In actual fact it was quite comfortable and even kept me warm. The dress was for the Style Steal series and I reckon I did a good copy of the rust dress and denim jacket worn by Jess and finished off with a large leopard patterned scarf.
My next outfit wasn't worn all day just the blouse with jeans after photos. I've not teamed these pieces together before, but rather like the elegant outfit that transpired. It might have been the addition of court shoes and pearls, but this classic look ticks all my boxes for a relaxed & timeless outfit. Just need an elegant party or dinner to wear it to - and soon. 🙏
My outfit for April's Style not Age challenge was based around the prompt Comfy Casuals - Everyone is looking for comfort for the time being, and the task was met with enthusiasm & delight. All the clothes are different and really do show our own individual style. Do stop by the blog for links to my four companions and to see my full outfit.
I hope you saw my final post for April, I was hoping to share an outfit from Bonmarche with you, however photos were an issue and this happened last week so felt it would make an interesting post. Imagine finding out a good friend of recent years had been at the same occasion (with photos) many years earlier!! Hey do come read the full story. X
Hope you liked my little run through of my past month, also stay safe and well and keep positive my friends.
Thank you for stopping by today, I really appreciate you doing so.
