How are you all doing ?
I'm really getting fed up with this lock-down situation and want to get back to normal now - pretty please!
After a busy few weeks I thought I'd check my emails to remind Emma for a challenge title for the Style not Age ladies - thinking she'd maybe forgotten I opened my emails and found she had already sent the prompt some weeks earlier AND there were two post photos already sent! Having been so wrapped up in the family and lock-down I completely dismissed it from my mind. I was surprised to find Emma had already sent (and I'd seen) the email suggesting the title of ...
Welcome to the Jungle.
What am I like! So by Friday having already received everyone's photos I had to set about finding something to wear. This obviously proved a challenge in it's self with no shops open to peruse therefore no inspiration! What's the best thing to do in this situations? Ask your daughter! She came up trumps and found two outfits along with a scarf and boots.
Welcome to the Jungle, which was Emma's choice had me baffled! I'd left it to the last minute through my own fault and didn't have anything new or hanging in my wardrobe to use. I took a look online but soon found out I wouldn't get anything in the post in time, so resorted to my daughter who found not one, but two items that would work well for the challenge. Fortunately I managed to squeeze into her leopard print jumpsuit, but vowed not to move too fast or too adventurously as I would without doubt rip it! I managed the photos successfully, but would have tweaked the outfit had I more time. What do you think? Do I look like I'm entering the jungle or does my unruly hair equate to me having already fought my way through it due to the gusty wind. 🤣
I love this jumpsuit and only wished it was a little bigger - then my daughter would not be getting it back! She bought it from T K Maxx - a favourite store of mine and her's and I can't wait to get back in there for a good old rummage. I like the flattering length and width of the legs which I complimented with black ankle boots - it definitely needs heels to balance out the amount of leg on show, anything low or flat is quite unflattering I think.
Long sleeves are perfect for cooler evenings, and I'm praising the cross over front detail - it accentuates my bust and holds my tummy in place beautifully. The only negative I have is the back zip. Because the fit on me is snug I couldn't move my arms around to undo it, so toilet situations could prove tricky - therefore I definitely won't be wearing it again, I'll have to look for a bigger size when TK Maxx is open again. 😉
Have you spotted my new sunnies? Hubby's birthday gift to me. Will share them again in the next week or so.
Thought you might like to see a close up of the stunning cheetah scarf my daughter brought back from Mauritius, she later said she wished she'd bought a few more from the street market she visited, so I said it was a good reason to go back and buy some more next year!! Ha ha ha. It's a vivid blue with sleek cheetah's over it - quite a statement piece don't you think.
Now it's time to see how Anna, Emma, Gail and Hilda tackled the challenge.
Emma - Style Splash certainly looks a picture in her jungle inspired creation, its a chic little number combining stunning suit & orange accessories, all topped off with a striking feline necklace.
Gail - Is This Mutton has opted for a jumpsuit too - a girl after my own heart, I'd jump at wearing this outfit too!
Anna - Anna's Island Style looks very much at home in her jungle inspired outfit she's blending in quite well in her khaki two piece and floral shoes.
Hilda - Over the Hilda has been waiting for day she could borrow this amazing cardigan from her daughter. It's from a designer called Hayley Menzies & is a real statement piece to be noticed in.
Glad you could join me today, so nice to have your company. Please check out my friends creations by clicking on their photos.
Our Style not Age group tackle a challenge every month and you can view some of our previous prompts here, here and here.
Bye for now. X
Wow! I love all the entries! But your, of rather your daughter s, jumpsuit is gorgeous! And uh.....can she bring me some scarfs too next time she goes???
ReplyDeleteNice isn't it Nancy! I so wished it fitted me better. x
DeleteEveryone looking amazing here Jacqui. And you rose to the challenge well, considering circumstances. Have a lovely week xx
ReplyDeleteDon't they just Laurie, love the finished look - but had me floundering at first. Got there in the end. x
DeleteJacqui, That jumpsuit is lovely..thank goodness for daughters. In times of crisis we can call on them. But I would never in a month of Sundays fit into any of my daughter's jumpsuits, dresses etc. Some cardigans and jewellery...only...
ReplyDeleteYes thankfully she came to the rescue, pleased with the end result now. x
DeleteThis is a stunning jumpsuit--you are wearing it well. I love the scarf, too. Yes, your daughter should go back and get more! I actually went to T.J. Maxx last week! I only took a quick look at the handbags, though.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Kim, get look isn't it. I can't wait for our local store to open again, I'm chomping at the bit for some retail therapy. x
DeleteI love that jumpsuit Jacqui! TKMaxx is trading online again now...very tempting! The scarf is gorgeous, it compliments the leopard print beautifully. I have to admit that I somewhat baffled myself with this theme...sometimes the ones that you think are easy turn out to be the opposite!

Oh I didn't see that, although I do prefer to 'go' shopping. I might take a look anyway. x Yes a hard challenge for me, looking forward to the next one though! x
DeleteWhat a cute outfit and you look fabulous in it. How lucky that your girl had something you could use. We are out of lockdown, but I am a bit reserved about going any where for a few weeks to see how things go. We did get to visit friends a few days ago, so that was nice and very good for my sanity. Hang in there! - Amy

ReplyDeleteOh Sheela! So pleased you stopped by today - and chuffed you like my outfit. x
DeleteIt's great to get a better look at this jumpsuit and goodness, I think I'll be trying to track this down too when TK re-opens! I love the fit on you as it shows off your waist and bust perfectly thanks to that crossover detail. Another great challenge in the bag!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it a cutie! I'm going to search for it too! Lovely challenge and can't wait to find out the next title too! x
DeleteI always go to my daughter when I'm stumped with what to wear too! This jumpsuit is so chic on you! I love how you styled it!
