Pink Pick-Me-Up - #Chicandstylish #LINKUP

Good Morning my friends.
Hope you are doing well.
I have a very special few days coming up, but they really won't be the same still stuck in lock-down.  You see it's my birthday tomorrow and I will only be able to celebrate with my loved ones who live with me!  I know it's the same for a lot of you, so do share how you would celebrate your lock-down birthday ideas.
It's also my grand-daughters birthday and my eldest son's & I won't be able to celebrate with him, I'll just stop by to give him his pressie and my love from afar.  We will have a little 'party' for my princess with the others joining on the computer via Facebook or Zoom!
Apologies for no post on Monday, everything just got on top of me!
I had a super long weekend with the Bank Holiday unusually happening on a Friday.  We had a BBQ in the garden with some tasty meat I bought from the local butchers.  As the weather was nice I decided to buy a paddling pool for the children, but by the time it arrived the weather had changed for the worst - freezing cold and the last thing they wanted was a cold and wet dip in the pool!  Saving it for the better weather that's hopefully just around the corner!  Maybe we can have a 'pool party' for my grand-daughters birthday on Saturday!

I adore wearing pink - it really is a positive pick-me-up colour and I've turned to it quite often in the past few weeks to brighten my mood. With my disposition changing daily I've looked to my outfits to put me into a better place which, sometimes has worked really well.  I feel so much better when I dress up, do my hair and put some makeup on!  Which is just what I've been doing these past few days and have been surprised at how much better I feel.
I topped my pastel pink jeans with a pink, black and white abstract patterned shirt dress - you've seen it before over black jeans.  It doubles as a jacket worn over a T-shirt like I have or a roll neck for a warmer feel.

I bought the jeans in Next for the Style not Age challenge 'Pastel Picking'  They've proved a really good buy now because I've been wearing them on repeat since #lock-down begun.  I love wearing jeans, but have found dark denim slightly depressing to wear.  These pretty pink ankle swingers look good with so many other pieces in my wardrobe and are pretty comfortable to wear too. X

The peep toes make my feet very happy and I wear them frequently in the better weather, I really wished I bought the tan option that was available when I bought them - I wish I had the foresight to see just how comfy they would be!  These are very similar.

I still like to finish off an outfit with a necklace - so I picked the black beads and hung them doubled up high on my neck.

  5. Such a fun outfit, Jacqui! I love the pinks. The color clearly makes you very happy, too. You are all glowy! I hope you have a wonderful birthday! We have celebrated 2 birthdays so far during lockdown and they haven’t been bad. We did video chats with friends and family. Things are starting to ease up where I live because we have had very little effects of the virus...I think something like 60 cases in my entire county with no deaths. My husband and I both have our birthdays coming at the end of the month so we are hoping to at least cook out with the neighbors and a few friends. I hope you have the a wonderful birthday and cherish the moments and whatever creative ways you find to celebrate!

  6. That's a lovely shirt dress and I like the pink pants with it! :) I hope you have a very happy birthday when it arrives! Home isolation birthdays are so hard - we have had quite a few now and they don't get any easier :( They are starting to lift restrictions here though so maybe they will do that soon for you too!

    Thanks for the link up!

Hope your week is going well :)

  8. Happy Birthday, Jacqui! Have a wonderful year!
I know..., my daughter's birthday is on May 17th, a big one. She is turning 30. She had so many plans, but now it is a totally different scenario.
I love, love, love your look! The printed blouse is such a statement piece. And, pink, of course, one of the best colors for spring!
    Enjoy your birthday!

  10. Such a sweet color! I have shorts of many colors but not pants. I think it's because by the time it is spring/summer here, pants get too hot. My mom's birthday is today. We celebrated this past weekend since it was their 50th anniversary too. Happy Early birthday to you!!

  16. Happy Birthday ahead of time Jacqui! Birthday wishes! My hubby had his in April, mine is in July, and I already know the restaurant I want to get for curbside. I say go fancy, take home and open wine or champagne! Love the colors here, the pink pants are delightful for Spring.

  17. Happy Birthday! I had to celebrate a major one last month with just me and my husband. It was disappointing! I agree on pink! I have my eye on a pink pair of jeans that I'd like to get. I'm like you--yesterday, I did not dress up or put makeup on and felt dumpy all day!

  18. Happy Birthday Eve!
No tips on celebrating Covid-style, I'm afraid. It was my sister's 65th yesterday. My brother and I stood in the road whilst singing happy birthday to our sis in her front garden. It was cold and windy. We'd left her pressies in her garden earlier to quarantine and I took her some nutella cheesecake that I'd made and frozen pre-Covid. But we were together for a few minutes and that's what mattered eh.
    Have a good one, x.

  19. Hi Jacqui, and happy birthday! I really identify with what you said about getting dressed for your day. I'm finding that if I don't shower, dress (if even in fresh yoga pants), and put on a bit of makeup, my mood just isn't as good and I tend not to be as productive. Trying to be more habitual and disciplined about that!

  20. Aww, happy birthday! I know it's not how you intended to celebrate, but hopefully it will be a birthday you'll never forget!

  24. Wow! You are looking so beautiful in these pictures. Thanks for sharing this amazing post. Fashion is a popular aesthetic in a certain time and context, especially in clothing and you truly have a good taste of fashion and style selection. I'm a fashion freak and I'll definitely try this look with my stylish Wing shawl. In these days Wing shawl is a huge trend. Thanks for the lovely post..
