I hope I find you all well and good.
As I'm preparing this post over the weekend I still don't have a clue just what I'm going to blog about.
I know It's the end of June which means the collective of ladies better known as Style not Age group are in full swing tackling their latest challenge ...
Check me Out.
Pondering just what I would style has been on my mind for the past couple of weeks, so finally on Monday I took a look at some websites and found a fabulous dress (well three in fact) on the Next site and had me clicking the button on said dresses - but guess what! Delivery for 6th July, which I thought might have been earlier - silly me! So with no outfits to wear, I'm studying my wardrobe for a willing and able candidate!
The challenge has been set by my lovely blogging friend Anna - Anna's Island Style and how well she's done - do 'Check out' her outfit!! 🤣
Finally made a decision on this one, and rather pleased I am with it too!
Now my plaid dress will have to wait for another day to show it off!
I decided to 'do an Anna' and chuck all items that had a slight mention of check onto my bed. I actually came up with two outfits, but opted for this which is actually a cotton dress. I picked it up from a little local shop selling Noa Noa garments and for the £10 price tag figured it would be a sweet little frock for fun in the summer. It's a pretty day dress with lace frill and enclosed slip. It also looks fabulous with denim and I often pair it with my jean jacket.
This lilac, cream and white shirt is over-sized and almost looks too big, but tied at the front it doubles as a cute little short jacket. You might recall I featured this chiffon blouse in a challenge with Gail a few years ago.
It has long sleeves that I turned back and was a better length to feel comfortable and you can also see my fabulous pearl ball bracelet that matches my Jaeger necklace - I love the size of this statement piece and always get a comment when I wear it!
White bow wedges are always comfy to wear, alas these have seen better days so might have to be replaced. I've got a couple of pairs from Hotter to share with you soon so do pop back again.
I decided to 'do an Anna' and chuck all items that had a slight mention of check onto my bed.
I've used my Osprey bag again, it's such a great colour and compliments the shade in my blouse rather nicely I think. This is really similar.
Now shall we see how my friends addressed the task?
First up is Anna - Anna's Island Style. Is looking mighty fine in her white and black check trousers suit, a versatile little number that can be pitched and pair with any number of other items and colours!
Hilda's turn & you can find out all the back story of her outfit here on her blog - Over the Hilda. I'm loving these neutral crops, again another item that can be teamed with tons of pieces.
Gail - Is this Mutton has got it all going on within her inspiring outfit. I think the mix of colours, textures and styles make for an incredibly interesting look.
Emma - Style Splash complete's the collection perfectly. Her two pieces make a matching trousers suit brilliantly! Nicely rounded off with her ring and earrings and spotty bag for a bit of contrast!
Thanks so much for joining me today - let me know what you'd have styled from the prompt Check me Out! I did toy with the idea of a shop assistants overall - which had I not have found my pieces, could have been what I'd have worn!!!!!!
Bye for today & have a super week.

Round of applause for this one Jacqui - I had completely forgotten about that blouse, which I still have somewhere (it's missing a button). I love it worn like this. The necklace is a real show stopper!
ReplyDeleteGail, thank you. glad I got there in the end. x
DeleteThat shirt is absolutely fabulous over the dress, Jacqui! Considering you didn't have anything to wear, you've done a brilliant job. You look stunning!
