Thanks for stopping by today.
What are your plans for the weekend?
Nothing much lined up for Mummabstylish this weekend, it's quite daunting to think of nothing happening at the weekend paired with horrible wet weather isn't it! Bring back the sunshine please 🥺
Before the summer runs out I thought I'd better share this cute little cotton cut-out top with you. I'd seen another blogger wearing an eye catching beauty and wanted to find my own - alas I couldn't find the right top (it was sold out) and found this pretty white cotton top was a good substitute.
Now before you ask no I'm not growing my own fruits and vegetables - but I wish I was. These photos were taken at my friends house and she recently supplied me with home grown plums, runner beans & some really tasty tomatoes - big beef tomatoes that were so sweet I thought they were picked in Spain. How I wish I was eating them in Spain with slices of mozzarella, salt & pepper and a drizzle of olive oil ... oh and obviously a large sangria!
I'm digressing, I want to share this cute light cotton top with you. I picked it up in F & F - like you do when shopping for your essentials, bread, milk, shampoo oh & the odd top - lol. Needless to say it was in the sale as the end of Summer is in sight and stores what to make room for much anticipated Autumn joys. There's something about new seasons that fill me with happiness and wonder, wonder what colours and styles will be making an appearance.
The top has little puff sleeves and a round neck that's finished off with a cute tie bow detail, you could leave it to hang, but I felt that looked a bit messy. The front is double layered to give better cover, but the back is only single so somewhat see-through. Still a lovely keeper for £10!
I teamed it with my stretchy pencil skirt. You may have seen it on the blog before, this flock skirt works well worn with pale colours too, checkout when I styled it with pale blue and pink with a flash of bling too.
Straight skirts with an elastic waist work very well in my wardrobe, they are so comfortable to wear, and can be dressed up for an evening out or worn with flats for a casual afternoon shopping, or just working indoors. They are great for wearing now, when I've enjoyed too much food during lock-down!! 🤣 What's your favourite item to wear during LD?
I've got a lot of pattern mixing going on in this outfit, but am pleased with how well it looks. With circles on my shoes and bag, ovals on my blouse, the lace design on the skirt look so at home with each other. It's a great way to embrace pattern mixing, just use similar shades & colours - this is about as far as I go for now! Ha ha.
Studying these photos I'm in dire need of having my eyelash extensions done, my daughter usually does them and I'm patiently waiting for her to give me the nod so I can get them done - watch this space. She's done my nails a couple of times already so the fingers are on point which makes me very happy indeed. If you saw my IG stories you'll have seen I'm sporting bright and lively Apple Red. ❤️❤️

What a nice summery outfit! The top is really cute. Isn’t it fun to score at the summer sales? I got 3 pairs of sandals at more than 50% off at Macy’s (online). Feeling pretty chuffed about it.
