Another look for my White Culottes - #Chicandstylish #LINKUP

Hi there my lovely friends.
How are you all?
Well didn't Storm Francis cause a few problems!  Debris everywhere including my new gazebo that somersaulted over my 8ft high hedge ending up in the side road next to me 🤯 Just so lucky it didn't hit any people or cars!! My shoot was also disturbed with us having to take photos in the wind and rain!  Esther managed to make the best of a bad job and produced some great shots for the Style not Age challenge that I'm hoping you'll join me for next Monday.
Another blow this week was my fridge freezer packing up - it's not working properly so I've ended up calling out a repair chap who can hopefully fix it!  Most of the frozen food has been wasted, but on the plus side I've wanted to empty it for a while so now it's been done for me.  I'm praying the technician will get it up and running tomorrow or I'll be needing a new one!

Do you remember seeing my new white culottes?  Well I happy to share another version with you today - a version to wear out in the evening.

I love this little crochet top (this is very similar) - I have happy memories of wearing it with my brown suit when I traveled on the Orient Express to Bath.  It's a timeless little classic that I can still just about get into!
It's a tad more fitted than I would like, but the shiny mink shade has a place in my heart and a diet on my mind - lol!  I've worn it a handful of times and adore it the sophisticated vibe it gives off.  This was from Next many years ago, but it still looks like new.

It's fully lined which is really needed to keep the look polished and tidy - no unsightly bras or straps.  I also like the high neckline & I wore a strapless bra to keep the lines clean too.  I didn't need a necklace and adore the thin knit halter straps, it also has a little tie at the back too. Scallop edges make a tidy hemline that sit over the top of the culottes - this gives a tidy finish and feels comfortable as it's not tucked in to feel bulky or padded.
It's a nice and easy way to wear culottes in a more dressy way.
Do watch out for the trousers teamed with a jumper - just right for cooler Autumnal days.

Enjoying the last few days of Summer in my gold sandals.  Can you believe this was the first time I put them on this year!  Crazy eh!  Footwear that's glamorous and comfy just sitting in my wardrobe waiting to be worn - shame on you Corona!!!!!!!!

  4. What a beautiful crochet top! it's so nice with the white :) What a shame about your freezer though - it mus have been painful seeing all that ruined food, especially after it has been tricky to buy lately! Sometimes the groceries I get delivered don't have bread or even milk with the shortages here!

Thanks for the link up :)

Hope you are having a nice week :)

  5. Oh wow, Jacqui, thanks so much for the feature! That was a lovely surprise on a very dreary rainy morning here in New York. I love this crocheted top on you. The color is gorgeous and it goes so well with your white culottes. I definitely have not worn very many cute shoes at all since February! And what a scary thing about your gazebo blowing away. Eeek. I am glad you are all okay though.

  8. What a gorgeous top! Even better that it's fully lined. I crochet, and I don't have it in me to bust out the fabric for much (sewing doesn't seem to be my friend), so I always try to make something I can put a cami under, but this one is perfect! And paired beautifully with those white pants. Looks quite elegant.

  21. Oh my! Your gazebo on the lam is funny to visualize, but I'm sure it was scary at the time, Jacqui!

Love your white culottes - dang, reminds me to wear my ruffled ones again before summer's over. I keep trying crocheted tops, and have finally concluded: they are not me. Sigh.

Thank you so much for the link-up.
