August Review.

Hi there everyone.
Shocking to think it's September already, I'm still back in March preparing to go skiing for the weekend!  So much has gone on since then, but so little seems to have happened!
My daughter and her family are still with us although I don't think it will be for very much longer and I'm dreading the day they pack everything up and move into the new home. 😢

Normality is slowly starting to return here, I've had word that my ballet classes will be starting again, as have the ballroom lessons, but I don't know when I'll be back. Possibly next week to ballet.  The gym is open but with limited classes and numbers so not sure if I'll return yet.  The running is still my only form of physical workout - unless you call helping look after 3 under 6's exercise ha ha!  I've reached 5k now and am trying to build on that with my pace and times - but have to say I'm impressed with how far I've come.  Maybe I'll enter the Race for Life again - when it's not virtual.

Wasn't August a funny month?  We usually have a nice little weekend away to enjoy and many fun family events to attend - alas we couldn't do anything like that so have had fun with BBQ's in our garden for the family, lunch with friends and an evening with our besties. I'm wondering if September will bring us more normality after the schools have returned & more people can get back to work.
So let's get this August Review going.
I started the month with a lovely boho dress in a striking rust shade and imagined wearing it to a festival, it'll get more wear in Autumn when I can chuck on a chunky warm jumper and hide long  boots underneath.

I was also excited to share some products from Neal's Yard in early August, they have a fabulous array of beauty and skincare products that smell amazing.  Such a shame there's no smell-a-vision on here a you'd have been hooked too!  I've bought some more lotions to show you and am planning a post as we 'speak'.

Did you catch this outfit featuring layers?  I'm so happy with it, being very proud that it got featured in Platinum Magazine.  My white jeans and slinky top was completed with a fine knit kimono in a watery sea green.  A long line jacket or duster gives life to a tee shirt and jean ensemble giving it a very chic feel.
Catch more of the look over here.

In mid August I styled one of the three dresses I bought from Next.  This feminine midi feels great on and looks pretty perfect to me, what do you think?

This little broderie anglaise beauty cost pennies from the F & F sale - the one I wanted was sold out and I was pleased to find this replica for a smidgen!  I teamed it with a pale blue pencil skirt for an interesting white look all brought together with my white accessories.  I'll be styling this cotton top with jeans and a jacket when the weather changes - complete with ivory boots.

Another bargain from F & F I found were these white culottes. Looking far more expensive than the £12 price tag and knowing they could be styled for Autumn I jumped on them.  I've featured them three times already and can definitely see them getting optimum use in the next few months - you can see them paired with this pretty crochet top for an evening of fun with friends & see them last week with this cosy rust jumper.  I've got plans to style them monochrome with my black jumper that has little shiny balls all over it - no that's not a rude joke - ha ha!

Grand finale for August was from the group of ladies better known as Style not Age.  We were set the challenge of What I would Wear on the Frow. Once I'd settled on this look I couldn't wait to get going, the show was the seaside and the venue was the beach - didn't spot any celebrities, just a few onlookers, that's seagulls to you and me!!!! Do stop by to see how my four friends tacked the challenge.

August also saw the beginning of a new venture for my youngest daughter - she's started baking and is selling her offerings under the guise Little Berry Bakes - do take a look at what she's doing on IG,  little #cakejars full of mouthwatering desserts - great for the ladies who aren't dieting post-lockdown like me!!!! 🤣

Thanks so much for joining me today, glad to have you here.
Esther Ruby took these shots and I'm so full of admiration and thanks to her. X
Bye bye for now. X

  2. It seems that you have a very busy month despite the restrictions. I am also reluctant to return to the gym so running and exercising at home are my options. Totally love the rusty and the checkered dresses but the white number with a long tunic that got you featured in a mag is absolutely sublime. Hope the September will keep you busy too :)

  3. I am hoping to enter some runs with a friend of mine this fall if they are open. We shall see! We are still at about 2 and half miles but that is mostly because we have to make it fit our schedules and time available to run.

  6. You had so many great outfits - I love that first dress particularly! It's good you are still getting time with family! Here we are mostly all working from home still, even though the schools are open. I'm used to it as I used to work from home once a week since I had my eldest boy, but it's strange not having any office days at all! We have no idea when we will be back in the office - maybe not this year :(

Thanks so much for joining the #WeekdayWearLinkup! Hope you had a lovely weekend :)

  9. Congrats on that 5km training! That's fantastic. I definitely think chasing after tiny humans counts as exercise. Hahaha. Those white coulettes are beautiful. Love how the buttons just pop! Also, that first dress has me swooning. Perfect for transiting into fall.
