Good morning my lovely friends.
Hope you are well.
Monday's blog post was a bit of a non-starter! Apologies for that. I've been feeling a bit lethargic and lazy of late and I'm afraid the blog has suffered. I've been doubting my self again and wondering what I'm doing in the big wide world of blogging. I'm trying to tell myself that I'm doing it for me, and not for gaining followers, likes and nice comments, but we all want to be liked and accepted don't we? Do you feel like this and how do you cope?
It was a busy weekend with a roast dinner and all the trimmings - I might add it was Turkey that was bought and frozen last Christmas to have at Easter, we decided to bring it out for Sunday and there's plenty of meat left to be eaten so will probably freeze it for another meal. Good weather, family and a little drink is just what the doctor ordered eh!
It's still warm though, so my transitional pieces are doing a bit of a yo-yoing act - one minute they're on, the next .... yes you know it. I've bought a couple of new pieces that I can't wait to show you. They are most suitable for cooler days and I think towards the end of the week that's what we may have. Do stop by to see them in the next few weeks.
Today I'm sharing another look for my white culottes - catch when I wore them with a cold shoulder top, dressed up for a party & with a rust jumper for fall.
I was pleased to find them in the sale a while back, white goes with anything and the tortoise shell buttons have grown on me! I've got so many options in my head so they'll get plenty of use until it gets too cold or wet. But until them I can have fun styling them to my hearts content.
Here I've worn them with a neat little high neck slinky jumper I actually bought back from Abu Dhabi a couple of years ago - it's from H & M which I was surprised to find in the shopping mall along with all the other high street stores.! I also returned with a chic patterned pleated skirt which you've already seen back in 2018!
You can imagine I was sweltering when we took these pictures, but to keep warm I'll pop a tee shirt under it - if it's really cold a long sleeve option will do the trick and not be noticed!
Do you like the silver balls over it? That's what I really liked about it, and that it's so silky and soft to wear. Here's one I found you might like as mine is sold out.
Do you see the side detail on my trainers? It's leopard print and complements the tortoise shell buttons perfectly. I picked up the white trainers last minute really and when Esther gave the thumbs up to wearing them I went ahead. So pleased I did as I really like the trendy, casual vibe it gives - not to mention how bloody comfortable they are. 💛 Love these from Asos.
You can't go wrong with a Chanel inspired bag can you! I have a couple that I use, but am daydreaming about my very own designer beauty to love and cherish - let's hope hubby is reading and picks up my hints - lol 😜

You look fabulous, Jacqui! I love the entire outfit, it's definitely the kind of look I would happily wear. As for the doubts, we all have them, it's only natural. I just don't care any more how many followers I have (or don't have lol)!

DeleteOh Jacqui, we all have these moments. And these are hard times also for bloggers. Just try to find the joy of it! I thin k a lot of women would miss you and your fabulous outfits a lot if you should stop! So don't! Lol. Culottes look so very good on you and these are no exception, love them!
ReplyDeleteGlad I'm not alone Nancy. Thanks for your positive comments. x
DeleteJacqui, I really like this black and white outfit. The culottes look so cool with your leopard accented trainers and I love that pretty jumper! I have been contemplating my place in the big land of blogging lately as well and was ready to just give up the whole thing but my husband convinced me otherwise. It is one of those things that I love to do and cannot imagine my life without it but it is hard work and can often be frustrating and unfulfilling from a business standpoint. The struggle is real, but here we are...sharing our light and love with those who need it!

I definitely have periods of blogging self-doubt, especially when my traffic goes down or I'm not gaining any new followers. But I remind myself that I'm not doing it for the numbers, I'm doing it for the self-expression. Hang in there!

What a cute embellished knit! I love the classic black and white outfit combo too :)
ReplyDeleteHope you get your motivation for blogging again soon - it's definitely a hobby for me, something I did before kids every night, something I try fit in now around kids when I can, haha! it's good to have that me-time though, and I do agree it's good to get a comment saying someone enjoyed the post, but I think I'd do it without that too!
Thanks for the link up :)
Hope you have been having a good week :)
Away From Blue
i like this outfit a lot. Black and white combo is always a great choice for looking chic

I love those culottes, and the jumper is fabulous too! The embellishment is lovely. I have those times when I wonder why I'm blogging, and if I should be spending my time doing something else. But I've had plenty of those over the last nine years and always come to the conclusion that I do it because I love it, even if it is frustrating sometimes. Instagram is a hard nut to crack, and it is disheartening when you see opportunities in Facebook groups but they want 5k/10k followers. It's taken me years to get to three and half! Hang in there and just focus on doing it to please you.
