Show Us Your Skirts - #LINKUP

Hello there my lovely friends.
Are you surprised to see me today - yes I don't usually post on a Tuesday, but today for one day only I've joined forces with Gail - Is This Mutton to co-host the #7DaySkirtChallenge
Do join in the special #linkup below sharing a particular skirt or skirts you have been wearing over the past week.
It will be interesting to see what you have all chosen!

Let me run you through my collection of skirts.  Not something I have much of in my wardrobe as I tend to wear trousers or jeans, but the selection I have serve me well and are classic styles that work with many other pieces and most definitely don't date.
This pleated skirt is from Next.  It's a favourite and gets lots of wear. Here I've paired it with a chunky jumper and leather jacket

Another pleated skirt for me on day two.  I picked this chiffon black and mink midi from a selection in Primark.  It's been a loyal subject since purchase and I've already paired it with a black jumper and this gold short sleeved knitted top I found in H & M.

Day three and another neutral choice.  This stretchy pencil skirt is an old faithful and has been around for a while.  It's very forgiving and I can get away with hiding a few extra pound in it.  I just stick on a long line jacket like this one which does the job nicely!

For Friday's choice I settled on this Zara skirt I picked up in T K Maxx.  It's a fine knit - small pleated version that finishes just above the ankle.  I love to wear midi styles and feel they flatter my pear shape perfectly.  Here it's complemented my cream blouse and black faux leather jacket.

Saturday and Sunday seemed to roll into one really.  It was my daughter's 30th birthday so I was busy enjoying the day with her.  I decided to do a joint post so here's my offerings for #day5 and #day6.
You must be able to tell I adore a pleated skirt, they're just so feminine and easy to wear.  The blue chiffon was from Primark last year, but still looks like brand new!  I teamed it was bright pink and picked a scarf to go with both.  It makes me think of Summer drinks at the pub as that's when I wore it - seems like an age ago now.

I can't actually believe I've had this skirt so long - I wore this outfit back in 2018, proving a pleated skirt really doesn't date, it still looks on point don't you think?

My skirt finale was prompted by Gail, I spied her last outfit and basically copied the colours.  Black and white work well with a pop of red or orange so my biker jacket and sling back were a good choice.  My straight skirt has a striking geometric pattern over it and fits like a glove.  I added a high neck lace blouse for a bold base and the show stopper jacket is a great contrast for it. 💖
