What have you been up to?
Not much to report here, a few walks and a couple of trips to the supermarket, living the high life eh?
Hubby and I have little conversations asking where we might be going - our replies are usually of the fashion getting dressed up to go out, have a couple of drinks before hitting a fancy restaurant for a delicious meal with friends or on our own, followed by drinks and cocktails in a quiet & relaxing little bar before heading home - oh we can dream can't we!
I hope you saw my post sharing my recent experience with Coronavirus, but if you missed it you can catch up here my friends.
Anyway back to my blog post, do you remember seeing my first proper attempt at pattern mixing? I shared this black and white co-ordinated outfit last year and go so many lovely comments and feedback I vowed my aim for 2021 is to do more pattern blends. It's a hard one to get right and some people can just 'do it' but I find it stressful, but do let me know your thoughts.
I started with the long line jacket. I'd seen it in M & S ages ago, but missed out on it! Lucky for me I found it on Ebay for a snip of a price so just had to buy it. It came the latter part of Autumn, therefore I've not managed to wear it very much, but have high hopes for it come Spring .... oh Spring the mere thought of it brings promise, hope & optimism for a normal lifestyle again. 💖
So the long jacket is cream, with stripes of pale red and greeny-grey with black. It has so many options I just had to 'do an Anna' - throwing everything in these shades on the bed to see what worked. Do you like what developed?
The jacket which I bought on Ebay was BNWT and only £4.50 + postage, I've certainly found myself a bargain haven't I!
The remainder of my outfit is made up of pieces already in my wardrobes. The pretty bold floral top is a lightweight chiffon that I've layered over a camisole for maximum warmth, it's got vibrant shades of pink and green roses over it. Very flamboyant and a nice compliment for the checked jacket. The colours match my jacket beautifully & the only other addition was red beads that hung low. I teamed with black peg trousers and sparkly red boots - both old and have been on the blog in the past.
So along with my promise to share more pattern mixes, but I'd also like to wear more hats. I've literally got one hat to my name and am on the lookout for more. Do "watch this space" as they say. X

DeleteJacqui, you totally nailed the pattern mix! The colors are perfectly coordinated and what a beautiful jacket! Such a great bargain, too. And I do love hats so I look forward to seeing you style them more! I realized the other day that I am wearing a hat in 14 of my last 15 outfit posts! As for pattern mixing, I do think that it comes pretty naturally for me. I just have a glance around my closet room and the things jump out perfectly coordinated! It's like there is some kind of magic that lives in there. Haha.
