Pleats and Vest! - #Chicandstylish #LINKUP

Morning everyone.
Sorry for being a bit late today, I seem to have lost a day and though it was Wednesday!  How the hell did I miss a day?
Been in the dressing room having another look at my clothes combinations recently. Came up with some beautiful combinations and can't wait to share them with you.  I also finally found and purchased some tan wide leg trousers!  So I bought two pairs!  Well one in short the other in regular.  I might keep both to wear with different heel heights, thought that seemed a great idea & they were a good price so will have to see.
Whilst sorting through my clothes I came upon this combination - a blouse with a vest over my pleated skirt.  Isn't it nice when you put something on and see how fine it is when you look at the photos!  That's just what happened to me.  Having seen so many wearing these knitted vest's I realised I had one in my collection already, I can't tell you how many times it's yo-yo'd from wardrobe to charity pile, but for the time being it's going to stay.  I also managed to track down this one from Zara on Ebay - so excited to wear it and as always layers are going to be your friend in the transition period and cooler days in Summer.
Before we head to the #Linkup let me share this super stylish outfit with you. x

What are your thoughts on the #Spencer vest?

Faux Leather for the Style not Age ladies.

Hi there my lovelies.
Hope you're all safe and well.
Well I had a productive weekend with the lovely weather we had.  Managed to get out into the garden and do a bit of clearing whilst hubby and helpers shredded the branches we had chopped off the hedge.
I also cleared the tubs and pruned some bushes making it look a whole lot better and gave me a very positive feeling.  I'm hoping Boris will have some promising news tomorrow evening, but am not holding my breath for any major changes to our situation yet!
As it's the last Monday of February it means the ladies from Style not Age have been hard at work creating their outfits for my prompt ...
Faux Leather.

There's been a lot of faux leather outfits around recently and I've been eyeing them all up and wanting to copy them.  So I managed to find a gorgeous pair of black trousers in said faux leather and also some flattering culottes in a sumptuous shade of chocolate brown.  I don't have very many pieces in this colour and like the softer alternative to black.  Now the problem with not having much in this tone means also not having much to pair it with!  I flicked through my wardrobe and came up with a few ideas including a soft pale blue top and a high neck blouse - both I'll be sharing soon.  My eyes fell upon this combination and I slipped it on and immediately felt very classy.  But do let me know what you think about my faux leather combination. X

Cornflower Blue Midi Dress - #Chicandstylish #LINKUP

Morning my friends.
Apologies for no post on Monday - photos are still my issue!

So starting to think there might be light at the end of the Lock-down tunnel lately.  Although it can't come quick enough can it.  With over 65's being called for their vaccine my age is still on target to have jab's by mid April hopefully, possibly sooner would be great eh! Have you had yours yet?
I've still been enjoying wearing my lounge wear with jeans thrown into the mix every so often - but I'm more and more thinking about my Spring 21 wardrobe and having a look at what to buy.  I've already bought some faux leather jeans and culottes & I can't wait to style and share them with you.
I'm always on the look-out for a flattering dress though!

Moncler Sunglasses - #Chicandstylish #LINKUP

Morning my friends,
Hope you are okay and having fun in the snow (UK & certain areas).

Sorry there was no post on Monday, you know how it goes - life gets in the way sometimes!
Anyhow did you get snow?  We did and I was a little underwhelmed to say the least!  With the forecasts threatening heavy snow in my area I imagined a deep layer and the possibility of sledging in the local field.  By Tuesday and Wednesday my wish had come true and there was enough to sledge and even get the blades out of the loft for the kids to practice skiing.  I may have a go it if stays long enough. Oh but hasn't it been cold!
Read about my skiing trips here in Sestriere & here my cheeky weekend in Valmorel.
On Saturday, before the snow hubby and I managed to trim the hedge back - it's grown so much over the years and we hacked and cleared nearly 4ft off the width.  It looks quite harsh, but wont be long until it's covered with leaves and looking healthy.  Now we have to hire a chipper to shred it all then spread the bark over the garden - hoping for suitable weather next weekend to get it done. 🙏

They're like a modern day 'Jackie O' style which just so happens who I'm named after - interesting little fact about me! 😏

Still struggling with photos because of lock-down and the weather so today I'm sharing my new sunglasses I got for Christmas.

Stripes & Patterns - #Chicandstylish #LINKUP

Hi there my friends.
How are you all doing?
Not much to report this week, the highlight has been shopping (in the supermarket) and stripping the wallpaper off my hall walls!  It needs brightening up as it's dark wood!  I'll be glossing the woodwork, painting the walls and popping some sort of new flooring down - I'll share a few piccys when it's done.
With dreary weather and not being able to see Esther I asked my daughter to take some photos for me.
It really hasn't been great weather recently, so wet and very damp I just want Spring and better weather to arrive - along with Covid eradicated so we can get back to normal duties.  Who else is pining for fun in the sun with family and friends?
Anyway back to my look today.

Quite an affordable look with my bargains and freebies - lol!

I've been looking for more jeans for a while, but with most shops closed I resorted to looking in my local supermarket. I couldn't resist the mom jeans for £8, yes that's right £8.  How nice to grab a bargain pair of jeans whilst shopping for dinner!  A nice casual style just perfect for staying at home and a nice alternative to lounge wear like this one from Bonmarche.
Pulling them on they fit like a glove, not too fitted so I have room to move and feel comfortable.  Today I paired them with a Parisian style stripy top, this was from my daughter.  She had a clear-out recently and I took full advantage of a couple of pieces she was chucking - lucky me!

Causing a stir mixing stripes with a patterned scarf - well it's worked for many of you and felt I should try it too.  What do you think?  Would you believe the scarf belong to my other daughter?  Seems I'm all about wearing hand-me-downs recently - nothing wrong with that eh?

The Breton strip is an old favourite for nearly everyone.  An easy to wear piece that looks just as nice paired with flared trousers.  My jeans (similar here) and top make for a sensible outfit that looks clean and unfussy.  Finishing touch my white scarf that's covered with birds. (Very similar here).
Quite an affordable look with my bargains and freebies - lol!

January Review.

Morning all.
How you doing?
February already!
With vaccines being steadily rolled out, I can't help but begin to feel slightly more positive for an end to this horrible drama.  I know quite a few people who've already had their first jab and the calculator has given me an earlier date for when mine's due.  Let's keep praying for Summer holidays to be back on the agenda this year as I've a whole host of new outfits to wear.
Since completing my dressing room, I've got the bug to decorate more of the house.  I've borrowed a wallpaper stripper so will be removing the ugly paper from the hall, repainting the horrible dark woodwork and painting the walls so they're nice and bright.  It will need some kind of flooring, which I've not picked yet.  I won't be spending a fortune but just need something to tidy it up!
As it's the first week of a new month, I'm happy to share my January Review with you all.  If you've missed any from last month you can catch them all here.
