January Review.

Morning all.
How you doing?
February already!
With vaccines being steadily rolled out, I can't help but begin to feel slightly more positive for an end to this horrible drama.  I know quite a few people who've already had their first jab and the calculator has given me an earlier date for when mine's due.  Let's keep praying for Summer holidays to be back on the agenda this year as I've a whole host of new outfits to wear.
Since completing my dressing room, I've got the bug to decorate more of the house.  I've borrowed a wallpaper stripper so will be removing the ugly paper from the hall, repainting the horrible dark woodwork and painting the walls so they're nice and bright.  It will need some kind of flooring, which I've not picked yet.  I won't be spending a fortune but just need something to tidy it up!
As it's the first week of a new month, I'm happy to share my January Review with you all.  If you've missed any from last month you can catch them all here.

Early January I showed off my new dressing room.  With Ikea units built and the carpet & curtains installed I was enjoying the fruits of mine and Hubby's hard work.  It's a room for planning outfits and finding everything with ease - I'm so pleased how it's come together.

After having Coronavirus over Christmas I thought it would be a good idea to share my experience with you - so this was the next post.  Hope it might have put some fears to rest as I didn't have it very bad. Catch more details here.

Pattern mixing is a bit marmite - either loved or hated!  I'm becoming a fan and have just started having attempting it.  Here's my second try with my new long line jacket - do let me know your thoughts, I'm planning more although my girls aren't convinced!

I'm quite taken with the idea of wearing hats of late and wanted to style my one and only fedora again.  I've given a 70's vibe to this jeans and jumper look by adding a fur gilet and fedora.  Pleased with the outcome and have decided to buy a few more hats - when the stores are open again.

I'm becoming a big fan of styling wide trousers and trainers.  The shirt has been like a yo you, one minute I'm chucking it in the charity pile the next it's taking pride of place in my wardrobe or being worn!   The colours compliment my trainers & this feminine outfit proves to be an easy to wear look for Winter.

By the end of the month I was enjoying a lounge suit along with my gal pals from Style not Age collective.  It just so happened I had been gifted a set from Bonmarche and have been wearing it on repeat over the past couple of weeks and feeling ever so comfortable when relaxing on the sofa, cooking or blogging!  With some negative comments about this outfit, I hope I can prove that over fifties can wear trendy lounge suits especially when they're a fabulous zebra print like this one.

Pleated skirts are a firm friend of mine and I have a few hanging in my wardrobe, this has to be one of my best picks as it can be worn all year round.  I went for a younger vibe and wore trainers with it.  Worked really well I think and it's a trend that's really catching on with all age groups.

Glad to have you stop by today, much appreciate your support.
Catch you again on Thursday for the #chicandstylish #LINKUP
Bye for now. X

  3. You have so many lovely outfits from this past month, Jacqui! I was just thinking that I have so many cute things I want to share, but I am struggling to get dressed just to lounge around the house all day. It is much easier for me in the warmer months to wear actual clothes! Thanks for sharing your monthly recap!
