How to 'Winterise' a Summer Dress - #Chicandstylish #LINKUP

Hi there my friends.
How are you all doing?
With schools returning on Monday I'm hoping the road-map out of lock-down is going to work, I'm sure like me your just about fed up with the whole thing!
Not much to report this week really, I had a zoom meeting with my Neal's Yard consultant.  It was a fun hour going over the facial routines I learnt from her last year.  She also sent a sample of a new product for me to try. I have to say I'm smitten with the Frankincense Hydrating Essence & having been using the sample daily have seen a noticeable difference.  That will have to be added to my list.  Do let me know if you are interested in learning about Neal's Yard, it's made such a difference to my beauty routine. X

Other than that I've just been having fun getting more outfits sorted in my new room.  It's so nice to have things close to hand - I've been adding to it bit by bit and it's really coming on a treat.
Did you catch my last two posts featuring the Spencer vest?  I'm so pleased I managed to find the exact one I wanted - I've got a few outfits planned to show it off again, so please stay tuned.

Today I thought I'd share another 'winterised' outfit with you.  I have plenty of summer dresses - many of which didn't see the light of day last year, so figured wearing them with a jumper would make them suitable for colder months.  Yay extra wear, that's value for money!
I also added boots and tights.

The mustard yellow midi is usually worn with sandals and my little jean jacket - you can catch when I wore this ensemble in Summer here.
By topping with a chunky jumper and long boots it's given extra life to the pretty floral frock.  The jumper is from a big selection at H & M, and although was purchased some years ago still looks like new.

I like to see tan with mustard so picked my calf length leather boots from Lotus Shoes.  The have a perfect heel and inside zip for maximum comfort.   There's also a nice buckle detail on the side too.
You've seen the cross-body bag before and it's the one I bought in Venice - how I wish I could be back there strolling the streets for bargains and goodies.  I'm sure that time will come one day, but so wish it would happen sooner rather than later. 💙

I was recently very kindly gifted a subscription to Fotor.com online editor and have been working my way through the website.  Fotor.com are an easy to use online photo editor and design maker.  There's plenty of options to create professional pictures and lots of great blog.graphic templates that make designs so much easier to create.  I've had fun sorting through and playing about creating fabulous shots.  It's a work in progress but it's brilliant to have the option to hand for my photography needs.  I've been getting to grips with taking photos recently so this site has come into my blogging land at just the right time.  I'll keep you informed as to how it's going, but would love you to check out the site too.

I was gifted the subscription to Fotor.com however these are 100% all my own honest comments.

  4. Jacqui, I love this layered look to give winter life to a spring dress! I just picked up a few new spring dresses that I would love to wear right now so I may have to try layering a jumper over them like this. I really like these bold colors together, too! I am so ready for some sunshine and fresh air!

  15. That bright yellow is so pretty for the upcoming Spring and I love the brown boots with it. Red and yellow is something that is tricky to pair together, but you did it so well!
