Hope you are well.
Last Monday in March can only mean one thing .... a post featuring the ladies from the Style not Age collective.
This month fell to Emma to come up with an interesting topic and a rather engaging prompt she offered us too!
Borrowed from the Boys.
Well this left the challenge wide open quite honestly. There were so many routes I could take, so I hope you are impressed with the one I chose.
I think Emma had more in mind to theoretically borrow styles that boys wear, where I took it more literally - I borrowed this from 'my boy'!
With a multitude of choices for this month's prompt - however I must admit to taking the easy option. I literally borrowed this tee shirt from my son. It's from a company called Criminal Damage that has loads of tops I like - maybe my son will buy some more that I can borrow! 😉
I added it to black peg style trousers (had them for years) and my new black blazer complete with shiny buttons to give it a more feminine feel. Similar blazer here.
Wearing trainers with trousers give an urban - streetwise feel and it's a look I love to wear.
Paired with the high comfort level, there's a super outfit that can be worn for so many outings.
Let us take a look how my 'Brothers' tackled the challenge.
First in the line up is the promptee ... Emma - The Style Splash.
You've picked well Emma, your jacket is just perfect with your trousers and edgy boots - a great steal from the boys my friend.
Next up is Anna - Anna's Island Style. Anna has opted for suit. She's put a girly twist on the navy suit with a pretty pink blouse complete with frilly sleeves. Love it Anna. x
Shall we see how Hilda - Over the Hilda tackled the task this month. She's gone for trousers and shirt with a the fashionable vest over the top, a borrowed hat from her husband gives it a manly finish.
Finally let's look at Gail's outfit. She's really given her boyish look a girly feel with the bright shades she's opted for. Love all the womanly details Gail. You can find all the details about her outfit on her blog - Is This Mutton.
Great to have you stop by, do join me on Thursday for the #Chicandstylish #LINKUP.
Until then, thanks its been fun to have you with me.
Many thanks to Esther for taking these photos at a safe distance. X
Bye for now.
This was a fun challenge. I love all the different interpretations. I would keep that tee if I were you. It looks great with the 'suit'. A
ReplyDeleteLoved it too Hilda, we all went for sort of the same, but with a big difference. Hope you have a super week Hilda. x J
DeleteI think you've all absolutely nailed this month's theme, and what a brilliant theme it is! I'm loving your son's tee and think you styled it beautifully, Jacqui!

Thanks so much Emma, what a great prompt. x
DeleteA tee worn with a suit or separates is a great way to combine funky and classic details into a fabulous outfit. Your look is brilliant especially with the final touch of your mauve trainers.

Such a fun idea to steal a tee from your son! I'll be waiting quite a few more years before I can do that with my kids being 5 and 6, haha! I love how you suited up with it then added a feminine touch with the pink shoes :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for joining the #WeekdayWearLinkup! Hope that you have a lovely Easter Sunday :)
Away From The Blue
Such a fab stylish jacket - this suit looks great on you! Lise
ReplyDeleteI love that you borrowed your son's tee shirt for this style prompt! That is the fun of style prompts....interpreting them in all different ways! The colors in the tee really pop underneath the black suit. And your trainers really add some extra edge. Very cool outfit, my friend. Thanks for linking!
