Finally we are beginning to see light at the end of a very long tunnel!
Lock-down is starting to ease here, with shops, pubs and restaurants opening today. Hurrah!!!!
Obviously with masks, distancing and outdoor service, but at least it's a start in the right direction.
I can't wait to go shopping. It will be nice to browse the stores and really look at the clothes before actually buying them, it'll be interesting to see just what the shops have in though eh!
I also can't wait for the gym to open. You may know I started doing the Couch to 5K and have been quite successful, but I'm a people person and love to interact. Also I'm tactile, so that might be a bit of a problem! Lol.
The hair salon's are also opening today and I have an appointment booked for 22nd and literally can't wait. I've been trimming my fringe, but can't quite do it like my stylist, so I'm ticking off the days until Thursday week!!
We've had two family birthdays so far this month - with four more in the next couple of weeks! I do pray the weather improves for garden parties. You might have seen the cakes my daughter Little Berry Bakes made for them. They went down really well, one was Spider-man themed the other Pirates!
Did you read about my latest dress from Bonmarche last week? I've another beauty to share with you today too.
It's a maxi and will be flattering addition to my wardrobe for sure.
Items marked with * have been gifted to me, however these are 100% my own honest comments.
I can never resist a maxi, they're super comfortable and can be adapted for various outings. I have another very similar from Bonmarche that's been so wearable over the past few years. Checkout when Esther and I met up in Spain to take photos by the beach. 🏖
This yellow maxi* leapt out at me from the screen. It's a bright yellow background with unusual white and black animal print over it. The heavy drape has a silky feel, and the stretchy fabric makes it comfortable to wear all day. It's a sleeveless dress that's got a striking crossover detail at the bust and the wide shoulder straps are supportive but still charmingly feminine. I added sandals to the mix, albeit rather cold, but come the summer and warm weather they will be spot on. I would also wear flat mules for a day strolling the beach front.
Available in sizes 10 to 28 the Ochre maxi is a snip at £35 and there's free UK delivery with orders over £30.
A basket bag is the perfect finishing touch for a long dress. I can gather everything I want in it and saunter down to a beach side cafe - oh to go there now. X
I picked a plain cream pashmina to cover up my shoulders, I could quite easy have chosen a little shrug cardigan or long jacket. I would keep the colour palette to lighter shades like corresponding yellow or creamy-white, but a dark black scarf would work okay too - just not a dark jacket!
Here's a closer look at the pretty cross-over detail ... it's the tiny touches that give the perfect finishing touch. 💛
Many thanks to Esther Ruby for today's photos. X
See you same time, same place on Thursday.
Bye for now. X
You look so beautiful. I like the diress you wear.

I absolutely LOVE maxi dresses, Jacqui! They're perfect to wear over here in the summer when it's hot. To me, the floatier the better! I love yours. The colours and print are divine. Not to mention the photos....they're absolutely stunning!

This is such a pretty print! I just received a white midi dress than I wanted and had to order a size larger because it has been out of stock. I feel like I would wear it more with a belt anyways so am pretty sure I will keep it. I need to once again stop shopping: I did a lot of "damage" in 15 days. All great deals (except the white dress, which it had been on sale) so not sad but now time to shop my closet once again.

Very pretty color on you Jacqui! I love the twist detail at the bust and the shawl over it as well. I use my straw bags consistantly in the warmer months! Have fun with your haircut at the salon! I am looking forward to a pedi, mani and eyebrows in another week!

Gorgeous dress, Jacqui! I am a big fan of maxi dresses in summer! I love the color and print of this one and you look so elegant and beachy with your beautiful pashmina draped around you. It is nice to hear that things are returning to normal in the UK. Happy shopping in real stores, my friend!
